Hmmm…. I failed question 8 about the US unemployment rate. There is no way it is 10%.

I read the the question as asking about the real rate, versus the one the feds are bating about. I believe the real one is much higher because so many people have been aged out of benefits and are no longer receiving benefits.

A far better measure would be for them to look at the income for 2008 tax returns compared to previous 10 years. That is where they will see the drastic falls in income from unemployment and under-employment.

  2. somewhereinvirginia says:

    Ok. 12 out of 12.
    what do I win?

  3. honeyman says:

Hmm 9. Not bad for an Aussie I guess.

  4. deowll says:

Um, I thought we had more people in Afghanistan. My bad.

Agree with #1 there is no way that 10% is the real rate.

  5. Troublemaker says:

    11 out of 12.

I missed the Dow Jones Average question… probably because I pretty much disregard the Stock Market due to the fact that it’s nothing but am elaborate Ponzi Scheme that doesn’t even warrant my attention.

  6. abstain says:

    Yup

  7. BigBoyBC says:

I’m the same as #1, no way unemployment is only 10%…

Yeah, that was a “trick question” as far as I’m concerned. As you mentioned, there are numerous ways to slice and dice the metrics on that one.

I opted to answer with the “official” figure, just to hedge my bet.

  9. Poindexter says:

I got 12 out of 12! Thanks to “No Agenda”! You guys rock!

  10. Bastard says:

#1 & #4… The ‘Official’ unemployment rate is taken from the BLS U3 report. And it is a worhtless, BS, number thanks to Johnson, Clinton, and other previous regimes

The U6 is a broader, but still cooked, report.

From reading various sources, I’d say unemployment at about 20% across the country.

  11. Zybch says:

Same as #3, 8. Now I wonder how well an American would do with a ‘test’ COMPLETELY about Australia.

The employment thing was just stupid though. The ‘real’ figure is substantially more than 10%.
I guess it was a test on News IQ though, rather than reality.

  12. Gasbag says:

Hey honeyman 11 out of 12 not bad for an Aussie 😛

  13. fellaintga says:

Only 23% got Cap & Trade question right man shows where the public is at with climate change. I got 10 and would have got a lot less without No Agenda

  15. Dallas says:

Piece of cake. I only had to Google one of the questions.

    Extra pointer:

Which former US Vice President has an arrest warrant both in the US and in Europe?

I got that one right too!

  16. Dennis says:

12 out of 12 puts me at 98% Better than All who took the test? Thats sad, just plain sad.

Yes, the questions dealt with the PROPAGATED information…not the ‘real’ numbers….
And the Afghanistan question was rigged, as the news has been reporting “100k soldiers ” once the new ‘surge’ is in affect. That almost skewed my answer.

  17. Pete says:

12 out of 12! But I will admit to guessing on the Senate committee chairman.

  18. Steve says:

I feel like it’s 1967 and I’m back in sixth grade (last time I answered all questions correctly). But this time I didn’t even look over Susan Carrol’s shoulder.

  19. MattG says:

11 out of 12, not bad for a non-US resident.

  20. haymoose says:

    12/12! Thanks No Agenda!!!

  21. KMFIX says:

    11… ARGGGGGG!!!

  22. dexter says:

    12/12. I’m also Australian.

  23. qb says:

    #14 Dallas

    Walter Mondale?

  24. omnicbex says:

    10. A couple were lucky guesses, though.

  25. Cephus says:

I got 12 out of 12 too, but a couple of the questions were worded badly so I can see why some people might have misunderstood what they meant. In the question about health care expenditures, they didn’t specify who they were talking about, the government or individuals. Also, in the troop levels in Afghanistan, they didn’t specify whether they meant current levels or committed levels. Whoever wrote the poll ought to have thought more about how they worded it.

  26. qb says:

    Poll Americans vs USA

Apparently new only occurs in the USA. On a heavily biased poll, does America score better than the rest of the world?

    My score: 12/12 from Canada

My trick question: by national population, which country has the heaviest casualties in Afghanistan?

  27. Troublemaker says:

    Dallas said:

Piece of cake. I only had to Google one of the questions.

Gee, maybe I should have Googled some answers, then I too would have gotten 12 right instead of only 11.

BTW, it was a knowledge test, not a “can I find the answers with Google test.

    Moran…

    Answer: Afghanistan.

  29. qb says:

    #28 You win

  30. ECA says:

    66%..
And 1 question is TOTALLY off..
LAST I looked, 1 year ago there were about 8000 military in Afghanistan.. NOT COUNTING CONTRACTORS..

    28, I can BEAT THAT..
How long has Afghanistan been at war?? Internal and EXTERNAL..
    30 years.
