Maybe “flop” is too strong a word, it just wont be a hit. When I was in China for 3 weeks this summer, tons of people were running around with iPhones already. The gray market has been pumping the phones in for at least a year already. So the “legit” version is just late to the game. That’s China for ya!
John, about the spammer who can’t afford the fine he’s been charged with. Isn’t the point of these extremely high fines is so that they DO end up jail if they can’t pay?
When did the civil courts become criminal courts?
No I think it will be a flop. Considering the cost of a iPhone was $3000 US dollars in China compared to a regular cell phone at $300 US dollars.
Data plans won’t be cheap and the average person in China earns far less then here in the US. Although they probably at least have a job.
One thing that helps the iPhone here is all the Apple hype. We may think this hype goes around the world but in reality Apple’s has much less success in other countries.
Of course it’s going to be a flop. The Legit iPhones are sold for a US$1,000 PLUS A MANDATORY TWO YEAR CONTRACT.
John, the Chinese phones are best not referred to as clones since, after all, they have very different processors and software than the iPhone and they are not necessarily identical physically either.
Thanks John.
Only one of the three parachutes on the Ares I-X SRB failed. This sort of thing is what flight testing is for.
#2: Unless we’ve secretly brought back debtor’s prisons I highly doubt it. Generally you can only be imprisoned for debts alone if there is evidence that you possess the means to pay off the debts yet you refuse to do so.
Headsup John your voice only comes through the left channel of the mp3!
