  1. Scott H says:

I would cringe at the memory of creating some truly ugly web pages, but I remember more how much fun GeoCities was.

  2. Somebody_Else says:

Your explanation about TRIM is a bit vague. Its important to point out that it has little/no effect on regular hard drives.

With a regular hard drive data is written to the drive in a linear fashion, its easy to go back and “clean up” areas where data has been deleted. With a SSD its more complicated; the drive controller on the SSD spreads writes across the entire drive to minimize wear. This makes it difficult to “clean up” areas where data has been deleted and as a result the drive will gradually slow down. TRIM is way to help prevent that performance degradation by telling the SSD drive controller where the deleted sectors are.

  3. Oh no, what will we ever do without homemade pages with home scanned Playboy centerfolds, bad freeware, and sites about pug breeding.

The audio is good one.I find so much good stuff with geocities.By the way,I am excited with the new release of the Ubuntu.I hope it work more efficiently and provide better performance.

#3 Don’t give up hope there is always Google sites.

Here I am with a duel core wanting a quad core and not being able to come up with a reason when a single core I already own can pretty much do everything I want done given the ram and they come out with a 100 core. I don’t suppose most businesses are going to be buying those to run Office applications.

I would have been afraid to do dump the people at Family Guy. They can really sink a harpoon and now they have a reason. They may not but then they just may become a Mac family or have constant problems with their PCs or both. Why do I have the feeling that the people at the top at MS are more or less out of it?

  6. Grandpa says:

Hey, RIM just released OS 5.0.0.328 for the Storm. It runs MUCH MUCH better now. Like having a new phone. Thought you should know.

  7. Chris Mac says:

That would be news if it was mototrola

  8. Glenn E. says:

MS should get the Tv show LOST, to do its Windows 7 ads. Remember the “hatch” computer?

“system failure… system failure… system failure… system failure… system failure..”

Frankly, I can’t think of how any Tv show or series would be appropriate for advertising Windows 7. Most (if not all) such shows are forbidden from discussing or displaying MS products, any other time. They usually use Linux, and customize their boot and desktop screens to some generic design. So how could they suddenly do an about face, and say how great a product Windows was? They should be promoting Linux. But I guess they’re prevented from doing that too. By MS and Apple lawyers.

Moto: You should never ask people to promote your product, who are hamstrung from mentioning it and competing products, the other 99.5% of the time. It looks disingenuous and fake, in the extreme. And cartoon characters, the 2nd worst possible choice. After America’s Funniest Videos.

Actually, the actors from “The Big Bang Theory” would be as close as MS could get to finding characters appropriate enough to sell Windows 7. But I’m sure Sheldon and Leonard are both Linux devotees. Penny, on the other hand….
