Those of you who think we need a revolution, put down Ayn Rand and your pistol and your 34th cup of coffee and take a deep breath. It’s not going to happen. The fabled world of ultra-individualism is dead, if it ever existed. Revolution of the kind you want is not coming.
Your dreams of being the rugged pioneer are not going to happen. The world has changed, moved on, become more civilized. Your “right” to carry deadly weapons around is not as important as other people’s right not to be killed. Your “right” to remove civil rights protections from others so you can oppress others is not going to be allowed. You no longer belong in the modern world. You will not be allowed to rant unopposed about how everyone who doesn’t agree with you is a commie and traitor, no matter how many FOX-inflated Tea Party/KKK rallies you have.
Maybe you can immerse youself on old Westerns and John Wayne war movies, maybe get together in basements and drink beer and talk about the good old days. Just stop trying to put your barbaric dreams into practice, because we are not going to let you. Stay in the shadows where you belong, we no longer need or want you.
Nearly everybody else wants what Obama and the Dems are offering; a government more concerned with keeping you healthy and safe than making money for the rich while sending kids off to die in pointless wars. We want safe streets and safe medicines more welfare and fewer flags waving. We want fewer churches and more community centers. We want this and we are going to get it, and you are going to help pay for it whether you see that it’s good for you or not.
You lost and you will never be allowed to win again. Get used to it.
#32 tiredofbeatingaroundthebush,
who is going to pay for your world of plenty? Your parents? The rich (obviously you have little need of money yourself, and curiously, aren’t concerned with taxes). You language reminds me of a trust-fund brat.
Jäger,
you obliviously think that social security, Medicare, et cetra, will magically stay solvent as the government spend our future wages like a prostitute that just found a lost credit card.
I think we have all become fat, lazy, and stupid, and we deserve to reap what we’ve planted.
#33 – Father
The cost for the US military will end up at between $859B and $1.16T in 2009, and you’re whining about health care costing money. Which is most important to you… kill people or heal people?
I’m a working man, not a trust fund baby. I don’t mind paying taxes; it’s called being part of a community and paying my fair share.
If we weren’t sending our kids around the world to kill people and secure supplies of a poisonous fuel that we could replace in a generation if we tried….then we’d have plenty of money to spend putting milk into babies and medicines into sick people. But the Repukes would rather toss missiles into crowds of brown civilians.
I’m tired of pretending they matter. I’m saying we should shun them, marginalize them and generally not let them have a say in what society does. They are part of a violent savage past that we voted to put behind us.
#32, First you said this.
Your “right” to remove civil rights protections from others so you can oppress others is not going to be allowed.
I had a really nice rebuttal, but you said it much more elegantly than I could have:
you are going to help pay for it whether you see that it’s good for you or not.
Thanks for printing what nearly half the country already knows. The majority always oppresses the minority.
#34, And all social services account for TWICE that.
Between the two of them they took up 70% of the budget last year (the one that was OVER budget).
#13, Last year it was closer to 98%.
I wonder where it will be a year from now?
It’s not oppression to make people pay taxes, it’s their responsibility. You need to pay for fire protection services whether you think you will have a fire or not.
That’s a tiny bit different from removing protections from minorities.

“Any evidence or links to back up your bullshit?” – Jim Bob
I can point out several predictions he makes in that article that are DEAD WRONG! The best thing is that he missed things like blogs, online video, and the explosion of digital music players. Those things have impacted society on a very very large scale yet he missed them. Not very good at predicting trends is he?
“You Obama apologists are worse than the Bush bunch” – Jim Bob
I am not apologizing for anything. Why? because there is no need. He has been in office 8 months. What have you done for your country the last 8 months? I bet it isn’t even 1/1000 of what he has done for this country.
“you do know the vast majority of Obama’s campaign BS has turned out to be just that.” – Jim Bob
Really? Vast majority huh? I bet you can’t even name one.
“Or are you just fucking stupid.” – Jim Bob
Lol. Did you get any one your shirt?
#37 – LibertyLover
And your point is? Killing is better than healing?
#39, Fire protection is a community responsibility, not a national one.
What does the Chimperor in Chief have to do with that — other than taking more money from people so they can’t afford their local taxes?
#41, Healing is better is than killing.
Maybe if we didn’t have over $2T in social programs, people might be able to afford some healing.
It’s an analogy, perhaps you should look that up. Maybe Mommy can explain it to you.
About the Chimperor comment, you’re either racist or you think Bush is still in charge.
#44, In other words, you don’t have a clue. Gotcha.
About the Chimperor comment, you’re either racist
Why would that be racist? I applied the same slang to Obama that I used for Bush. And that makes me a racist?
or you think Bush is still in charge.
Say hello to the new boss, same as the old boss.
#44 tiredofbeatingaroundthebush,
So you are telling me you don’t use petrol, electricity, public transportation, or any other evil fuel device? And you’re not confined to a psychiatric hospital?
As Dvorak says, I don’t see Obama doing anything but getting on tv to give campaign speeches. Bush used to hide from the public, and do nothing. Obama is out in front doing nothing.
In any case, I can’t see how our standard of living (which is propped up by the poorest domestic and foreign workers) is sustainable.
Tired, I think you have topped the charts in poorly reasoned positions. I would rather read Alphie than you.
Jäger, hope you’re good at huntin, ’cause your thunkin is broke.
John! How can you post this without any commentary?! From RT? Are you kidding me? I want to hear your response! Com’on!! You’re killing me! Something… anything… you also said the DJ was going to tank before it did.
#32 ect.
You’re your own worst enemy. Your initial rant exposed you as ignorant. Your follow-ups revealed you as a fool.
#32 tiredofbeatingaroundthebush:
“Nearly everybody else wants what Obama and the Dems are offering…
You lost and you will never be allowed to win again. Get used to it.”
Call me after the primaries.
This guy is an idiot if he thinks he has successfully predicted the future. Today there are hundreds of people predicting our economy will go further south and there are hundreds more predicting it will improve. So what makes him special, the slick delivery?
Thousands predicted the dotcom bubble would burst and when investors started listening, guess what happend?
Millions predicted Iraq would be a boondoggle and quagmire, similar to Viet Nam.
Millions (or was it hundreds of millions) predicted high oil costs would destroy the world economy. And tens of people think continuing high energy usage will benefit our economy.
And I predict Alphie and pedro will troll some stupid comment in the near future. Oopps, looks like Alphie already has. See how right I am ?!?!?!

We lost 263,000 jobs last month, 80,000 more than expected by the “experts.”
It’s not getting better people. As a nation we need to wake up and realize that artificial demand generated by government programs does not make things better. It makes it worse.
#53–LIEBERTY Loser==let me fix that for you: “when the private market totally fails, insufficient demand generated by government programs does not solve the problem overnight.”
Idiot.
#35, bushbeater said – “I’m tired of pretending they matter. I’m saying we should shun them, marginalize them and generally not let them have a say in what society does. They are part of a violent savage past that we voted to put behind us.”
Yes, I can tell you clearly are the civilized one. Clearly anyone who seeks to exclude, marginalize and ostracize all opposition is the reasonable person.
go read SHADOWRUN
What’s better than wars to balance the exponential human population growth? At least wars give people a fighting chance (no pun intended).
J, j j j j…..you haven’t opened your eyes yet. Coffee is brewing. This prez is no better than the last one, and he may end up being a lot worse. In 8 months he has…appointed an appalling number of cronies (many of whom are crooked), had 17 or more tossed out by the Senate (a new record, historically), appointed untold numbers of CZARS which don’t need Senate approval. He’s out there talking — almost daily — but the machine that he’s a slave to (big business, big business, big business) is pulling the strings.
I’m sorry, but the big O is no better than the big B, and history (if we survive) may paint him as very much worse.
Open your eyes, start looking up who is the head of HUD, who is in charge of the CIA, who is running the banking oversight committee. Their backgrounds are out there…and, it’s a sorry pack of mutts.
Why did the camera angle change when he said the average pay on wall street?
I kinda think we are going to have stagnation in the job market followed by…more stagnation in the job market.
Wall Street and the Tort Lawyers are doing okay but this is not a good place for small business growth and if the Dems have their way it will get worse.
The next question is where does most job growth occur in a healthy economy? Small business.
#51 ” thereby creating thousands of good paying jobs.”
Is Alfred1 morphing into Nancy Pelosi?
