Serena Williams walked toward the line judge, screaming, cursing and shaking a ball in the official’s direction, threatening to “shove it down” her throat.

On match point in the U.S. Open semifinals Saturday night, defending champion Williams was penalized a point for unsportsmanlike conduct — a bizarre, ugly finish that gave a 6-4, 7-5 upset victory to unseeded, unranked Kim Clijsters.

Yup, she could… Look at her!

I wouldn’t play around with her, she’d kick my ass.

  2. Poppa Boner says:

I think the line judge should have kicked Serena in the nuts.

funny how threats in one sport is enough to get media attention but they are seen as common place and unremarkable in other sports. If a football or basketball player had said the same thing is wouldn’t be big news at all.

And then Roger Federer pulled off this amazing shot.

  9. Semantics says:

Everyone knows that do to slavery 150+ years ago that it is racist to expect a person of color to play by the rules and conduct them self in a civil manner. I am sure the line judge will have a big chuckle at poor Serena’s expense at her next Klan rally. When will this racism end in America!

  10. That was not very polite but the emotions in that game must have been boiling. I think that she just felt harmed and threated unfair – sometimes we all think that way, maybe in time she though about that some more and understood that she didn’t had to have right.

Probably when a black person can be in the news without some white guy pointing out the race of the person…

Yeah, livin’ the thug life at the U.S. Open. Right up there with Kayne West in the “no-class” category.

  15. Mr Anderson says:

She / he did for her race and new sponsor; throat lozens / cough drops that look like little tennis balls.

just because charles barkley said that he “was not a role model” Doesn’t mean that she doesn’t have to be. We need class in today’s society not tabloid like rants like this.

In Charles Barkley’s “defense” I must agree – He’s not or never has been much of a role model.

You have apparently never seen Mansour Bahrami play tennis. Here is his speciality shot against Boris Becker:

Serena has been in pro tennis way long enough to know what this kind of behavior earns her. Some at her level would be expected to be sitting in the stands for a few years after a tirade like that at the world’s greatest tennis tournament and witnessed by the entire world via international television. Tsk, tsk, Ms Williams.
