1. noname says:

    Hilarious, couldn’t stop laughing.

  2. Seems pretty silly to publish this crap when the reviews are really quite excellent for the new release, except for PC World (duh).

I’d call this thread a waste of time.

Oh, and unlike noname, I didn’t laugh once … and I’m not even a mac zealot.

At least the puppet did manage to notice that a release that tightens up the code base is something that would never occur to the folks at picoflaccid.

  3. noname says:

    # 2 Misanthropic Scott,

“Oh, and unlike noname, I didn’t laugh once”

    A.) Lighten up
B.) I love the MAC and which I could use it at work.
    C.) The clip was funny.

  4. Wretched Gnu says:

    I’m disturbed by the noselessness.

  5. Shubee says:

That was definitely very funny. For Apple’s sake, I hope that the many puppet troubles are an outrageous exaggeration.

  6. #3 – named,

I don’t need to lighten up. I just didn’t find the clip at all humorous. I guess we just have different senses of humor.

  7. JimR says:

MScott, I also couldn’t stop laughing. Of course I’ll laugh at practically, anything… but then… I did wonder if it really was as bad as he said or if he was just being a Microbrain.

Thanks to your link, I see now that he was talking out of his puckered orifice. LIES! … ALL LIES! Come to think of it, if I had read the real reviews first, I probably wouldn’t have laughed.

    Now I’m really angry!

  8. noname says:

    # 6 Misanthropic Scott,

Dammit! I am Gumby, I mean NoName!

I am not named, nor shall I ever be “named”, dammit.

  9. Delta Dan says:

I couldn’t get past the crappy john wayne imitation. It could have been entertaining otherwise.

  10. Zybch says:

It was like I was watching the real Mossberg.
Remember apple fanboys, its not a bug, its a feature.

  11. walt=leo says:

Funny is not the term I would describe the clip. Instead, the video is better labeled: Mossberg Uncensored. Because if you take out the few glitches that Walt would never mention anyway, this video is probably representative of a Mossberg review of any Apple product.

  12. Awake says:

Q: Why did you upgrade to ‘Snow Leopard”?

A: Because…. duhhhhh… because… it is so great… it is 64bit, so I can run my programs faster, like iTunes can play my songs faster, and I can write my novel faster… and duuuuuh… hmmmm… and other great stuff…

I see you are running Windows programs inside your Mac…

Yeah.. isn’t that great… I can run Windows inside my Mac…. I bet you can’t run Mac inside your Windows…

You got me there… maybe because nobody ever needs to run Mac inside Windows to actually get their job done!

  13. Improbus says:

If you don’t like the Walt Mossberg muppet do your own damn muppet video. If you are cheap you can use a sock with googly eyes pasted on.

  14. deowll says:

I thought it was as much a poke at Mossburg as Apple and of course all those ultra fair apple commercials. It was funny.

I did note the jab about running Windows. I have a couple of friends that tell everybody to buy a mac because of all the cool software.

It does come with some very nice free presentation software they rarely use.

Then they spend most of their time running windows and very little time running the cool software.

For some reason that does not compute to me: sorry.

  15. jescott418 says:

I thought it was very funny. If you listen to Walt enough over time and read his columns you would notice as I have that he is a bit biased towards Apple products. I have heard him give some negative reviews about Apple products. One comes to mind was MobileMe which was so buggy when it came out Walt actually could not say it was worth it.
But this definitely was a good laugh, Thanks!

  16. mr. show says:

Aw drunk Walt Mosspuppet has a bormance for Steve Jobs!

The other videos on Youtube are funny as well, especially when Walt Mosspuppet rips Michael Arrington a new one. 🙂

  17. mr. show says:

    #18 BROmance that is…

  18. Faxon says:

Just the term, “Apple Fanboys” is hilarious. If I liked Apples, I would be pissed off every time I was referred to as an “Apple Fanboy”. The image I have is a guy with tight shorts, and shirts open to the navel. If only Apple owners were not so damn obnoxious. I was present when the iPhone was initially released, because I work for the news. I had to be there. It was like the damn Scientologists for Christ’s sake. They were chanting, “iPhone, iPhone” over and over. Really weird.

  19. noname says:

    # 20 Faxon,

“If only Apple owners were not so damn obnoxious.”

I’ve allways wanted to understand this, that is; what is it, why do they care?

A.) PC owner is insecure about their decision and threatened by jubilant mac owners.

B.) PC owner is pissed off about another PC problem and angered by jubilant mac owners.

C.) PC owner expects every computer owner to be similarly disappointed and angered by jubilant mac owners.

Why do PC owners care about Mac owners?? I find it amazing just how much air time they give this.

  20. ZARk says:

    Riight …

misinformed .. . Windows seven is a NEW rewritten Kernel ..

Snow Leopard is an updated kernel …

so 7 is actually a bigger improvement over previous windows than Snow Leopard is

  21. Troublemaker says:

That was just plain painful to watch. I couldn’t get past 2 minutes.

  22. darthboozer says:

it was funny making fun of the “mac faithful” and yes they are cult like very Scientology Esq.I like mac harry potter star trek star wars and lord of the rings but avoid opening days to stay clear of the crowds full of freaky cultist weirdos i like mac but have never owned one and probably never will all the virus Trojan and malware PC problems are starting to hit the mac and i don’t believe it is ready sort of like how the native Americans were more vulnerable to smallpox than the Europeans and died by the millions so will mac.also mac sells elegant looking and functioning products but sells slower less advanced hardware at a higher price.I can deal with the higher price if the software is better and the hardware is equal.but lately low end hardware high end prices doesn’t work for me they are double dipping and cheating their apple fan boy base lol.The closed off walled garden that is the iphone is totally uncool.i Microsoft had a phone OS that restricted which software was on its platform the justice dept would be on them like flies to manure. love the phone but will not buy one until it is available on other carriers and is more open to third party apps and can multitask like palms pre OS(hate palm pre’s keyboard.)Microsoft is a new kernel with some legacy support it is a improved product vista was slower than xp and only offered an improved media center nagging prompts and slow performance with more demanding hardware requirements.A tough sell to the business world. One final thought,I wonder what percentage of mac users run windows, its probably an embarrassingly high number.which begs the question whats the point?I tease linux users to alot of cool stuff in linux but very little software
ubuntu is great but not enough supported software at the user level and more open source on windows by far.andlinux is a good idea it integrates linux inside windows.A more logical solution.

  23. furrypotato says:

I’ll settle this once and for all.

MY new OS is better than YOUR new OS. Period.

Now, I’m off to get a life.

  24. Schorschi says:

Yawn! This is Gong Show material.

  25. Horrible. I turned it off an 3:34.

  26. Russ says:

To all those Apple Fanboys (above) who are so unnerved by this skit’s message, with all due respect, you’re focus is misplaced.

Snow Leopard is simply the foil here, not the subject, the lampoon target is really Wall Mossberg. And one of the reason’s its so funny is due to the underlying accuracy of the Walt characterization.

Jeez, get a sense of humor; will ya?
