Dvorak asked for some Brazilian news, here it is.
On one side is José Sarney, the ageing president of the Senate and former President of Brazil, who is mired in corruption allegations and clinging on to power. On the other is a rapidly growing campaign to oust him run by young, educated Brazilians using the internet to mobilise support.
Critics say that Mr Sarney is a symbol of an outdated, corrupt and autocratic system that modern Brazilians are trying to leave behind.
This is a story about our ex-president now president of the senate Jose Sarney (who failed 5 times in controlling hyper-inflation and once shut down all Brazil’s banks) having 13 charges against him behind dropped. These charges included moving about 600 thousand dollars from the gov’t to his foundation and for secretly employing members of his family.
He might not have “said” it, but I’m sure JCD meant some Brazilian News that was relevant to the Dvorak readership would be welcomed? Unless the readership in Brazil is being courted.
No, I think he meant items covering how to correctly use Brazilian Bikini Wax or how Mardi Gras should be imported beyond New Orleans.
I think I read a while back that while Brazil was a highly catholic country, the abortion rate was quite high. Maybe that kind of article would be of interest to all groups.
I have to admit, I can’t see foreign news without any connection to USA or Universal Human Rights or “some” connection does strike me as irrelevant. Hope I’m not being too insular.

Beside abortion, I was amused at how open prostitution was in this catholic country. Don’t know how to make that relevant/connected.
How about comparing the dangers of Statist Vaccination Programs of the USA compared to child outreach programs in Brazil===aka, police squads going into flavelas and shooting the kiddies on sight?
There should be many cross-cultural items of great interest.
#1, Brazil is quite catholic, but it’s more poor than catholic. Many women don’t know how to prevent pregnancy, and when it does happen, the only option for her is abortion.
“I had no option”===when of course other options existed.

There is a chaos on brazilian politics now, I`m back in brazil after 6 years living in California.
Brazil has corroption as every other country has it, but we are evolving rapdily without all the pressure that america put on herself to be the superpower we can try new ideas much more easily.
Politics is mess up, but what i think Dvorak wanted to show was that who is mobilizing this campain against Sarney is the young people not old folks fighting against eachother.
