The stimulus package is living up to its provocative name by funding a bacchanalia of behavioral sex research, a Post analysis reveals. The next fiscal year is set to be one of the friskiest ever in the nation’s science labs, as researchers probe the ins and outs of sex patterns among humans and even some of our four-legged friends. Among the most titillating grants awarded by the National Institutes of Health are studies that would:

* Examine “barriers to correct condom use” at Indiana University, at a cost of $221,000.

* Study “hookups” among adolescents at Syracuse University. Study’s cost: $219,000.

No idiot stimulus/stimulated jokes, please.

  1. noname says:

For me the issue has become Guilherme Cherman.

The image he used, he cropped to insinuate what isn’t. The subject matter is a ruse for his PhotoShop gallery.

Like an iceberg, we are only seeing 10% of Guilherme Cherman gallery. Heaven forbid the FBI should ever seize his computer. He is underage, and his teenager brain development is not complete. It’s not unreasonable, work from someone demonstrating such poor reasoning skills (as shown by his image postings and topic selections) will get progressively more and more deviant, as that is how he is demonstrating and self directing his development.

He is working for John Dvorak and it’s his responsibility to exercise oversight on his underage workforce.

[ed: the image is posted from another site. Complain to them]

  2. Named says:

    35, noname

Meh. John owns the blog and he authorizes the editors. Look at this kid as JCD’s own little Howard Stern of his blog.

I’m really not big on him deleting comments that he doesn’t like though. THAT is infantile. AlfredENewman infantile.

And Anti-Che IS a kid. It’s why he believes that where you’re born in the world, and not your citizenship, is the key to a valid president. He’ll make a great Republican. Facts have no place… he’s got twitter friends instead.

  3. noname says:

    # 36 Named, I am ok with a “Howard Stern” blogger here excepting when either of two things happen.

1.) The “Howard Stern” blogger is an underage kid.
2.) The pornographic images involving underage kids.

Both of those are true here. No one should ever post pornographic images involving underage kids.

What if that kid in the image saw the picture?

It’s grossly and very obviously not right. I also believe it is illegal.

I’ve seen child abuse, and; it’s something not to accept, ever!!!!!!!!!

  4. Greg Allen says:

I don’t want to hear ANY CONSERVATIVE complain about this money after THEY just wasted over ONE BILLION DOLLARS on abstinence-only education which didn’t work, never had evidence that it would work and, quite possibly, made things worse!

    http://tinyurl.com/222pqp

And that 1.8 BILLION DOLLARS since their tax cuts for the rich means we have to pay it back with interest.

  5. Faxon says:

  6. bobbo, porn in the eye of the beholder says:

#37–nosense==”For me the issue has become Guilherme Cherman.” /// Why?

I wonder why you don’t “mind your own freaking business” and “keep your nose out of other people’s business”–but call me a live and let live libertarian.

I look at the cropped picture, then I look again, then I read your post and I look again. I don’t see any porn, I don’t see anything sexual. If there was any, it would be in the larger less cropped picture. Do you get equally upset with pictures of 12yo eating corn dogs at the State Fair? This picture is EVEN MORE NEUTRAL.

Quite simply, you have to “PROJECT” your reptilian fears into the picture to reach your concern BUT EVEN THEN, the only–ONLY reasonable response is “meh.”

Ha, ha. I’m wasting as much time on this issue as you foolishly are on Guilherme. You got me.

I fell into the stupid hole. Got to be more alert in the future.

  7. Will says:

bobbo, you don’t see that she is holding a “phallus?” It seems to me that Guilherme Cherman cut a picture to make it look that way, when in fact the original picture did not. Now, with the addition of a child in the picture, it is inferred that the “teacher” is teaching the “student” something sexual. Therefore,in noname’s eye, child pornography.

I do agree with noname that it is childish to put a picture like this in this blog. I come here to get news that is kinda going under the radar. This story is such a non-issue that the only way to bring attention to it is to add this cropped (and thereby sexual) picture to it.

If this blog continues it’s right leaning stories (instead of centrist-left that I am used to) I will no longer be coming here my news everyday.

  8. bobbo, another good rational argument says:

but #41–Will==yes, I see the “phallus” but doesn’t the very term you use provide an “adults only” context?

How many kiddies see a phallus?==None, well, just those traumatized to see it by their parents, = close to zero.

ITS ALL ADULT PARANOID PROJECTION. You see, except for every subject I can think of, kiddies aren’t adults. They don’t view the world the way we do. Until they are taught that sex is nasty, they just see a phallus as a hot dog. Later, they may see a phallus/hot dog as a dick. Its still not until years later they become socialized to the point they will hang a label of pornography on it and come to loath the natural pleasures the world offers in such limited quantities.

Its a bit of a side point, but “legally” does presenting a phallus to a kiddie constitute porn?? I don’t think so. But like I said, side point.

I would never blame Guilherme or any other entity in the world for what draws my attention. Call me self actualized==I enjoy taking responsibility for my own actions.

  9. filosofixit says:

Is that a picture of the Norwegian Crown Princess Mette Marit? 😀

I’m pretty sure she gets nothing of your stimulus package, although she gets quite a bit from us, the norwegian taxpayers, but I would not call that a stimulus package 🙂

  10. BigBoyBC says:

Just found the picture above on a website that is in Portuguse, the picture above has not been croped.

The pictures caption on the other website says:
“Princess Mette Marit showing that it still knows how to play”

    http://oglobo.globo.com/blogs/conexaonoruega/posts/2009/07/06/afinal-que-a-noruega-202422.asp

I think the volume of ad hominem attacks on this new guy needs to be toned down. He’s no worse than any of the others, including Dvorak.

  11. Named says:

    43 pedro,

Just like the Republicans. Always trying to get two dudes in a room together so their own closet homosexuality doesn’t hurt so much… and so they can watch and hopefully join in of course…

Why don’t you go hang out in a toilet stall at the airport. Maybe your soul mate Larry Craig will show up and help you find yourself…

  12. Named says:

    47, pedro,

Hmm… I think I said you’re trying to convince us to get a room for your own pleasure. Not mine. Republicans have never been known for comprehension or intelligence, so you’re forgiven.

    Enjoy your airport bathroom stay!

And what is this team you speak of? Are you on the Larry Craig Think of the Family team or something?

  13. the real warden says:

Alfred1, pedro, the warden, bigboy and the list goes on: are all worthless trolls who didn’t seem to get out of kindergarten. How can something so stupid as you guys still be alive?

  14. Named says:

    49, the real warden,

I’m betting on Medicare and welfare.

  15. noname says:

    # 49 the real warden,

“How can something so stupid as you guys still be alive?”

I would call them Zombie Republicans, basically brain dead but still roaming the streets.

Here is a camera shot of a recent Republican gathering.

  16. Named says:

Way to go Guilherme Cherman! You censored a comment that made you angry, the freedom loving fascist that you are, and now you’ve put it back, or some editor with integrity did, and you’ve screwed up all the number battling going on since comment #3. I was having a great time trading insults with pedro the half-wit, and now I can be bothered to correct all the numbering…

You don’t like what’s being said? It’s like the heat in the kitchen… get out.

  17. Arne Hansen says:

There is no need to illustrate this article with a picture of the Norwegian Crown princess. Please remove.

  18. deowll says:

#29 I didn’t say Wallstreet did anything right nor am I sure how much of the bail out was worth doing. In fact just buying them would have been cheaper than what we did do in many cases.

If I’d bailed them out/bought them I’d have broken most of them up till they were small enough we could let them fail. I think I’d have also forced them to go through the equivalent of bankruptcy so contracts and pay scales could be adjusted radically downward when things weren’t going well and bonuses were based on multiyear averages.

I don’t object to paying out huge bonuses if the person can haul in huge amounts of cash over the long haul.

Yeah, I know you have to pay big bucks to get the best but somebody in these organizations wasn’t the best or they would not have tanked and leaving for jobs somewhere else means there’s a job to leave to.

  19. Glenn E. says:

Let me know when it’s a “Bucks for Bunnysuits”. I love to see a resurgence of that fashion statement. The Japs have been holding onto it, forever.

  20. named says:

    57 pedro

We know you can’t read. dont bother trying to prove us right.

  21. Rick Cain says:

I don’t ever remember republicans complaining about deficit spending when they controlled all 3 branches of government.

  22. Glenn E. says:

Apparently, the excuse that said research relates to “global warming” is running thin. So instead it’s being labeled “stimulus”. As if to say, “No matter how frivolous this research is, at least it’ll stimulate the economy.” Cause it sure won’t stop global warming, will it?

When you think about it, the US Space Program has been a “stimulus” program for decades. Funded to keep the Aerospace contractors in the black, during “peace time” (even though the US is always at war with somebody!). So until the next World War comes along, when we’ll need them, we’ll just keep them from going out of bankrupt, with these high priced joyrid into space. Which accomplish nothing a unmanned satellite can’t do, cheaper.

  23. named says:

    60 pedro

Originality… another talent you lack. No intelligence, comprehension… pathetic. I was tempted to correct you error about censorship, but why bother. A dog would understand more than you could.

  24. suckit says:

Guilherme Cherman doesn’t sound american to me. You are probably in America illegally. Submit your papers for review before you are allowed to post anything else.
