the cost of ensuring a small item mailed this way far outweighs the cost and slowdown of dealing with the claims dept for lost OR STOLEN items

The amount of stuff stolen that i know of for an appliance parts distributor who’s network & inventory I maintained went up 7 fold between 1997-2003-41/2

this “large box” tactic keeps people “honest.”

I blame the mandatory lack of “standards” (or hiring of low-lifes) an employer is required to adhere to when hiring warehouse and shipping personnel.

any Non-PC statistical report would show this.

for those who can’t phantom the validity of this type of shipping, get a job in a major warehouse…better, get a job at a Buy.Com warehouse.

In the late 90’s and early 2000’s i used to get a visit at least twice a month from “them” selling 5 lots of 17″ KDS flat screens in the box for $75-amongst many other smaller items.

Wrapping stuff up on pallets or big-boxes choked off that supply by the mid 2000’s to almost nothing relative to before it was implemented.

FFS, Uzi’s in the box were $500 in the 70’s to a connected teenager.

some of you need to get out more. you have no clue how the real world works.
