At an 11:00 a.m. press conference today, Governor Sarah Palin announced that she would not seek a second term as governor. The governor continued saying in a few weeks she would resign the governorship.
On a day that most public employees have off, Palin sent out an early morning press release indicating that she would be giving an announcement from her home in Wasilla. Joining Palin were her parents, family and state commissioners.
Palin did not field questions and would not give any indications as to her future plans.
Palin announced that she will transfer power to Lt. Governor Sean Parnell. Parnell will be sworn in during the upcoming governor’s picnic.
WooHoo. Here we go!
Alright, it’s obvious why she quit her Governorship and it has nothing to do with scandals or running for office.
Since the No Agenda will likely go to three episodes a week, she’ll be adding her style of witty banter to what Adam and John contribute. I applaud John and Adam’s publicity stunt for pledges!
Maybe she didn’t go nuts, rather wised up instead?
Palin in the US Senate? Oh dear … wasn’t the US Senate modeled on the Roman Senate? The age and citizenship requirements are stricter than those of Congress, and (according to Madison et al) is expected to consist of people who are older and therefore wiser!
One more point: of the incumbent Senators from Alaska, Begich (D) only just started (by defeating Ted Stevens in 2008/11), so that leaves Lisa Murkowski (R). Would Murkowski give up her seat? I doubt it. This is what Murkowski said yesterday: “I am deeply disappointed that the Governor has decided to abandon the State and her constituents before her term has concluded.” (from her senate.gov webpage). Translation: “over my dead body”. If anything strange happens to Murkowski, you know who to talk to!
I just noted something else about Murkowski: she’s just been appointed Vice Chairman of the Senate Republican Conference. So, she’s already in a position of authority among Senate Republicans, and on the way up.
If Palin really wants to run for Senate, she has already lost, which makes me think that it’s not going to be a Senate run. Plus, I would say that Murkowski has more chance of a Presidential nomination than Palin. What’s left: Fox News?
Folks remember when the question was whether this person was competent to be one heartbeat away from being the president? We now have our answer, Hell NO.
How can she run for any political office at this point? She just handed any opponent the perfect campaign slogan- “I’m no quitter, unlike my worthy opposition.”
I think there’s another shoe about to drop.
Oh- and BTW- we need to hear more from the morons who were touting ‘Sarah in 2012’. C’mon you loons, step up to the plate- you know who you are.
P.S.- ACORN, teleprompters, half-Muslim, birth certificate, etc etc etc.
Talk about the politics of personal destruction, the Democrats and their insane blog base are like the brown shirts in Germany in 1930’s They have no moral limits in their goal of destroying those they see as a threat to their party objectives. Ruthlessly attacking Sarah Palin, her family, and even her handicapped infant! Repeated attacks on her ethical behavior that cost her immense amount of time and dollars to defend herself. And all of them proven false. Who coordinated and funded these attacks? We will never know because the liberal press has joined in with them! The extreme left wing of the Democratic party are ruthless, with no moral compass and blindly dedicated to their cause of big government and destruction of individual initiative. Let’s give them a big Sig Heil! and then cower in our corners
Hey, don’t underestimate American’s stupidity. We may very well elect her if she runs. By that point we will be so pissed off with the Democrats for over spending us into a depression that we would elect anybody!
Godwin’s law strikes at #68!
I’m surprised it took that long.
Hey Jescott418 I was just joking! It was just an attempt to get a laugh. Maybe I did step over the line with the Hitler reference but it was all in fun. I meant no harm. I am sorry to see some people do not have a sense of humor.
So much for her claim of having “executive experience” that Obama lacked.
You remember that, don’t you?
Hard to re-spin that, if she is going to run for office in the future.
I look forward to her tear-soaked interview with Barbara Walters.
She will get as many votes as the UK Looney Party did.
