The FBI has arrested an Internet blogger from New Jersey on charges of threatening three prominent Chicago judges who authored an anti-gun rights ruling earlier this month.
Hal Turner, 47, of North Bergen, N.J., allegedly posted a headline “These judges deserve to be killed,” supplemented the next day by, “Judges official public work addresses and a map of the area are below. Their home addresses and maps will follow soon. Behold these devils.”
Below this headline, the entry listed the names, photos, phone numbers, work addresses and room numbers of the three judges involved in the handgun decision, as well as a photo of the Dirksen Federal Courthouse in Chicago and a map, according to an affidavit. The photo of the building had been modified to include arrows and a label referencing “Anti-truck bomb barriers,” according to the affidavit…
“We take threats to federal judges very seriously. Period,” Patrick J. Fitzgerald, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, said in a written statement.
Turner is charged with threatening to assault and murder three federal judges. He faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison, if convicted.
The NRA and other nutballs will consider him a hero.
>The NRA and other nutballs will consider him a hero.
Nutballs might consider him a hero, perhaps, but I don’t recall the NRA ever advocating violence against detractors.
I don’t think the right wing nuts will understand the seriousness of this.
Already I can picture Alphie condoning his actions because he also published anti-abortion rants.
I can see Liberty Loser screaming about his right of free speech being denied by the big, bad, monolithic, dictorial Federal Government bent of ruining him personally with the taxes needed to prosecute the guy.
I can even picture Cow-patty telling us how life at a popcycle stand has shown him how all Federal Judges are liberals.
Please, prove me wrong.
I think what he’s done is reprehensible and most certainly wrong but it saddens me to think that had he posted YOURS or MY personal information nothing would have happened.
The Founding Fathers would have approved.
To the first person to defend this dipwad…do we want to end up like Colombia or Mexico?
Mr. F is right, this is really serious, we cannot allow ourselves to turn into another Colombia or Mexico.
I blame the NRA for getting this dolt so worked up.
“The NRA and other nutballs will consider him a hero.”
You know, not everyone who has views different from your own is a nutjob.
This guy was an idiot, plain and simple.
#4:
Assassinate judges whose rulings you didn’t like? No, they wouldn’t advocate killing. They’d certainly denounce the rulings and hope the higher courts would see reason.
If not? They’d rewrite the Constitution — after all, they wrote it.

I blame Jefferson and other Founding Fathers:
“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is it’s natural manure.”
“No freeman shall ever be debarred the use of arms”
“[The Constitution preserves] the advantage of being armed which Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation…(where) the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms.”
“Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom in Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops that can be, on any pretence, raised in the United States. A military force, at the command of Congress, can execute no laws, but such as the people perceive to be just and constitutional; for they will possess the power, and jealousy will instantly inspire the inclination, to resist the execution of a law which appears to them unjust and oppressive. ”
I blame the judges for violating their oaths of office & the Constitution…
#8, fine. Then let’s just shoot the judges. To hell with their rights.
The NRA has absolutely nothing to do with this guys actions. He obviously has issues and doesn’t know how to respond to his anger appropriately.
“The NRA and other nutballs will consider him a hero.”
Now I see why so many people refer to you as eideard the retard.
Mr Fusion
I don’t give two shits what he said on his blog about abortion or anything else for that matter, advocating the the death of a judge or anyone else for that matter just because they have a different point of view is wrong.
I happen to own and carry a firearm every chance I get and although I don’t agree with the judge’s decisions it is my responsibility to act within our laws and Constitution to get things changed.
NRA Life Member
(No, they DO NOT ADVOCATE threatening judges and they never have)

Go for it if you want.
Anyway, I see you don’t have a word to say about the judges violation of the constitution nor about the Founding Fathers ideas as to why the 2nd exists… Typical of uneducated people.
This guy is a maniac.
These judges also aren’t the brightest group either apparently. Quoted from the article:
So, the entire reason why the 1st Amendment is now made to also apply to the states is because of the change that occurred with the 14th Amendment. In fact, all of the restrictions placed on the Federal Government in the Bill of Rights, now also apply to the states as well because of the 14th. This is well established. Yet, these three bozos think that the 2nd Amendment is some sort of exception?
Patrick, you’re saying they deserve to be killed for, in your opinion, violating the constitution??
#13 Come on! The 14th Amendment doesn’t exist. O’Mama’s appointee, Soyotmeyer? Doesn’t believe the Bill of Rights applies outside of the beltway either…
#14 Keep dodging the issue with false allegations. Typical of someone who knows nothing about the U.S. and its history.
Right wingnutts are on a march. Pres Obama needs to start picking them off one by one using Navy SEAL snipers.
We cannot tolerate
– assassination of doctors
– assassinations at national memorials.
– assassination attempts at Federal judges.
Start now. Hit them hard
#17 That is funny. You forgot one under, what can’t be tolerated:
-assassination of US citizens in the US, by Islamic terrorists.
Looks like O’Mama forgot about that threat…
Please send him a note will you?
Patrick, the issue is: this guy thinks it’s OK to kill judges because he dislikes their ruling. You seem to be agreeing with him.
#19 Dodging again. Please show where I said I agree with him killing judges. If you can’t, get off the blog.

“..Then let’s just shoot the judges. To hell with their rights..”
The judges have a right to live, they don’t have the right to do their job so poorly they infringe on the rights of others. For that reason they should be replaced/retired.
But since you said (in writing)you want to kill the judges, I’ll expect the FBI will be knocking at your door soon. Maybe you can argue that your comments were taken out of context…similar to the argument that the accused will use.
Thank goodness our new Government is trolling all the blogs, protecting the citizens from evil doers…says a commenter who is glad he didn’t accidentally misspeak ….so far this week.
#2 – Mr. Fusion
So true.
Patrick, You quoted TJ (and random fathers) about the need for bloodshed….and you disagree with it? Why, then, did you post those quotes?
When I joined the NRA years ago I had to sign a pledge that I was not nor ever have been member of an organization who’s aim is the overthrow of the United States Government.
How may liberal organizations require that?
# 21 Rick’s Cafe said, “Thank goodness our new Government is trolling all the blogs, ”
No need. I just reported his threat to a guy who works at the regional FBI field office. Olo Bilge Water can now expect a full colonoscopy. LOL
# 23 Olo Baggins of Bywater said, “Why, then, did you post those quotes?”
You really can’t read? Typical of homicidal criminals.
I said the guys who wrote those thoughts got this guy fired up, NOT the NRA.
#15, Cow-Patty,

#18,

So many times you have been shown you are wrong. You are still wrong no matter how you refer to the President or asinine comments you make about a Supreme Court appointee.
GigG, I didn’t know that. Will the NRA take away his membership, assuming he has one?
The NRA actively promotes the possession and use of all weapons. Instead of understanding the damage a firearm may do, they like to think the firearm is blameless and focus entirely on the “criminal”.
Cow-Patty,
Thank you for proving my comment in #2 correct.
