AAA outfielder Josh Womack demonstrates his crazy bat skills at Long Beach Armada 2009 Training Camp. Womack’s ability to swing the bat around and catch it again are only surpassed his sharp wit. After he realized camp had stopped down to watch him, pitcher Jose Lima yelled out “nice pants!” to which Womack replies “Nice face.” ZING! Should be a great season.

As someone once said, there are two seasons during the year: football season and waiting for football season. We’re in the later.
uhm it just seems to be one bat skill….
I’ve gotta think that the eye/hand coordination necessary to do this repeatedly is a useful skill in baseball. It may be a bit showman, but it’s not steroids and it works. It takes a lot of eye/hand to connect with a 98 mph fastball using a sliver of wood. And as Jose’ Lima has said before, you can “believe it…”
Actually a pretty cool skill. Takes some good eye/hand coordination. But, I know most of you wouldn’t know anything about that given that you’re all still trying to master touch typing.

The first time I saw this promoted was on Alyssa Milano’s twitter. Which made me think instantly it was a fake. But having watched it a few times, even I think it’s just a wild skill. However, the bat does spin odd for an item that is heavy on one side. This definitely needs some experimentation. Let me put on my steel gloves from my suit of armor and I’ll get right on it.
This demonstrates a very high level of eye hand coordination. If I had ever tried that trick the only thing I would have gotten for my pains is pain when the bat hit my hands.
