He is on track to return to work at the end of June. ‘William Hawkins, a doctor specializing in pancreatic and gastrointestinal surgery at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., said that the type of slow-growing pancreatic tumor Mr. Jobs had will commonly metastasize in another organ during a patient’s lifetime, and that the organ is usually the liver. … Having the procedure done in Tennessee makes sense because its list of patients waiting for transplants is shorter than in many other states.’ There are no residency requirements for transplants.”
#31 Steve was looking ill at macworld 2007 looked like hell 2008 my guess is he has been waiting for a liver for about two years maybe more. Would that be long enough to get your approval or was he not close enough to death yet.

You believe everything you read? Everyone has a financial incentive to downplay his illness. I don’t believe anything I read about it.
Cancer, like all disease, is just one of nature’s ways to prevent overpopulation.

Just FYI, though possible, it’s unlikely he would’ve made that far with pancreatic adenocarcinoma. Certainly, he wouldn’t have been able to function as well as he did for 5 years with a classic PC. He’s secretive, all right, but those bits and pieces that do come out are pretty consistent with what he claims to have.
Anyways, what difference does it make? The guy is seriously sick and, frankly, I can’t imagine any normal human being making jokes about it or being as vile as some of posters here.
That explains why he looks so ill. He is. My friend died of liver cancer, because he was not rich and famous. How many others?
National health care, unless you want to pay more. Great. I can hardly wait to pay for liver transplants for illegal aliens.
Did he have to sign a two-year contract?

In short, he bought his liver when someone else, also very ill but with a better chance of survival, misses out. In my opinion, that makes for another compelling argument in favor of a national health care system.
Now that you mention it, I am sure there would be no chance of influnce peddeling in a national system.
It’s not that the cancer is FUNNY, per se, but this is a guy who lives to control EVERY aspect of everything he touches, and mortality and entropy come for him, too. Another example: Gun control is not funny, but Dick Cheney shooting an old lawyer in the face is hilarious. It’s dark, but it’s inevitable and, well, funny. Because does serious hand-wringing make it any better?
So what did Steve Jobs’ surgeon say as he was declaring the pancreatic cancer gone?
“Oh, and there’s just one more thing …”
