    # 182 Ralph, the Bus Driver,

Excuse me redneck, but my comments was intended for people who swore to uphold the constitution (remember the oath you supposedly took?).

And as far as combat, after just graduating the Naval Academy in 52, I was sent over to Korea. In March 1953 the Chinese forces ran over the U.N. front line that hit 1st Marine Division outposts manned by the 5th Marines. Marine Corps casualties totaled more than 1,000, but the Chinese losses at least twice as high. Don’t give me your pathetic shit about leaving people behind. To this day I can’t stand the smell of garlic or people I consider COWARDS or WANABES, namely you redneck.

#155 – Mr Fusion: Give Alfalfa a break. He’s been reading Genesis a lot, lately. It’s a confusing chapter for him what with all that unprotected begotting going on. And, besides, he didn’t say it wasn’t a mutant hunan bean. I was just wondering if all the extra chromosomes that were left over might have been enough to make a little mutant puppy for Alfie to love.

    #183, wannabe,

If you had to describe the history, you weren’t there.

Of all the veterans I know, not one has ever felt the need to iterate their service record to prove a point. Only if necessary would they even say, “I served”. They might give their unit but would never even imply they were better (an officer for example) than the guy sitting next to them. It just ain’t done. Only a wannabe or pretender would that.

  10. Alex says:

“The sole purpose of the Declaration of Independence was to sever all ties with Briton and make the colonies independent. It was to justify the rebellion then ongoing and which were to last another four years.”

Actually, I do hate to disagree with you there Fusion, but the Declaration of Independence was a propaganda letter meant to incite riot and revolution within the Colonies themselves. It had *no* legal effect whatsoever, and in fact has never been signed into law by any government.

It’s also a very beautiful letter, and a nice philosophical document.

But as a legal document, it is worth less than the Articles of Confederation (as they *were*, albeit briefly, signed into law by a legitimate government. Though technically it wasn’t the *United States Government*.)

  11. Mr. Fusion says:

    #192, Alex,

Very true, however, I would rank it above that of a letter. Propaganda, definitely. As I did put in my response above, it was to justify the revolution, not legitimize it.

I do think any disagreement would be minor quibbling.
