These are an example of animal-like leg construction called digitigrade legs. Apparently, you can actually order a pair, although there’s currently a two month wait. And now for more:

Here’s these guy’s website.

  1. sargasso says:

    Popular with C.S. Lewis, fans.

  2. bobbo says:

More interesting are the similar prosthetic legs so effective that amputees using them have been banned from athletic competition as having an unfair advantage.

Progress is being made===though not yet time to cut off your legs and install, that day is a few years off.

    Resistance is futile.

  3. gremlinclr says:

    Ugh. Don’t encourage the furries.

  4. chuck says:

Haven’t drywall installers and circus performers been using something similar for years? I think they’re called stilts.

  5. Jumpin' Jersey Joe says:

I believe the military is looking at systems like this for infantry, to allow them to travel faster by foot (hoofin’ it, as it were
:)) carry more of a load and be all-terrain. Interesting combat potentials.

  6. LibertyLover says:

Video 1: Hairy legs. How European.

  7. John Paradox says:

The first video makes me think of Satyrs… which would be one heck of a costume.

    J/P=?

  8. pfkad says:

    The satyr look. Very nice.

  9. orangetiki says:

so you wasted a whole article on places I can buy movie props and watch people who made their own? Brilliant.

  10. chuck says:

This video demonstrates the military applications.

  11. Uncle Dave says:

#9: All those bits and bytes wasted that we can never get back. And what about the ones you wasted with your comment? Do as I say, not as I do, eh?

  12. RBG says:

    Ray Harryhausen.

    RBG

  13. Honky Doodle says:

I would expect that if you are using these and you try to run, it would be difficult to not trip and fall!

  14. deowll says:

I always wanted to be a satyr!

  15. Faxon says:

I’m sure my (or your) legs would feel just fine after walking around in these stupid things all day long. Yea. Right. Plus, that chick looks really attractive as a fucking donkey.

  16. pwuk says:

Those taller ones would be great for commuters, imgaginge how much faster you could walk 🙂

  17. astroboi says:

I always thought JCD was a horses a$$, now he can have the legs to go with it…

  18. Cephus says:

Sorry, the furries are probably spooging themselves, drooling over those prosthetics. Whatever you do, like #3 said, do not encourage the furries, they’re fucked up enough as it is.
