    True, FireWire is better. And if I remember correctly, they came out at about the same time.

    But I’m not sure if Intel has any original product with the same level of name recognition as “USB”. Maybe I’ll be proved wrong with the next ad in this series.

    While USB and firewire are both serial busses, they really don’t have anything else in common. Each were designed with completely different design goals in mind. Firewire shares many things with SCSI. Multi-master and QOS being two.

    USB’s primary design goal was to be cheap as hell while unifying the connector type.
