As many of you know Queens Day in Holland took place last Thursday and I just got back. Here are a couple of videos to give you a feeling for the event. The first was done in the morning. The second later in the afternoon. The weather was remarkably nice.

I was worried for your life John, when I heard about that deliberate car crash, that went thru the crowds. Since there’s nothing about it in your blog post. I assume you were nowhere near this tragedy. Thankfully, you’re Ok.

Video 1 looks like just another flea market.
Video 2 doesn’t seem to have any defining characteristics and could even be mistaken for a particular resort area I’ve seen in Arizona!
So why go? Don’t we American’s now have a one party monarchy in power who are about to send us all back to the dark ages where this kind of activity will once again be a regular day occurrence?

Why all the orange? Are these the colors of Amsterdam?

Orange because the Dutch royal family is known as the “House of Orange”. Orange has been the national colour of the Netherlands for hundreds of years. Even people that are against the monarchy still wear orange when the Netherlands plays an international game in any sport or during Queens day.
John was filming in Amsterdam btw, the attach on the Queen/people watching the Queen was in Apeldoorn, about 40 miles to the east of Amsterdam.
