The site loaded kind of slow; perhaps because none of it is in the cache. I will be interesting to see if that is true on subsequent visits.
Sorry, but this new layout isn’t better.
Biggest problem for me.
Where are the post numbers? When I want to reply to a particular post, I would simply put #33 or whatever, and Bob’s your uncle.
How do I do that now?
Not to mention, it is much better to scroll down the postings and not do the “Newer post – Older post” thing.
This is a huge mistake. Before, we could scroll down the posts to see if anything similar was already said, and by whom. This new system discourages this, thereby insuring repeat posts.
Very Bad.
KISS – Keep It Simple Stupid.
Before, it was simple. Now it is not. Having to page forward and backward through the posts is a huge step backward.
No post numbers is just bad.

The backwards text editor has to be a bug. If it ‘s not, someone needs to be shot.

As ‘Ah_Yeah’ states, KISS. The new site isn’t simple and it IS stupid. There is no excuse to have the width so huge, a max of 1024 wide (including browser window borders and a scrollbar) is the absolute maximum any good site uses and having 4 columns is just too much.
In addition, having the horizontal line commonly used to indicate the END of a story appear BEFORE the link to the comments for the story is highly confusing, am I entering the comments of the story above the line? or below it?
AND WHATS UP WITH THE QUESTIONMARKS??
Love the new logo at the top though, just get rid of fatty and her amazing voice!

Did you get a lot of complaints about the old site?
Do you have a friend who is in web site design who just got laid off and you felt sorry for him?

I though you used to have a notice that you recommended Firefox.

Agreed, the punctuation is also broken. As are the space marks.
Could you also put back the numbering for the individual posts? It is nice to reference another post by number.
BTW, did anyone test this new software upgrade before going live? I find it hard to believe that this was intentional.

Grrr. this site diplays a bit differently every time i visit today. i hope this is a sign that you are still working on it. the over all “new look” is going to work out i think. i do not appreciate clicking on the words “online poll” (in drab gray btw) and being sent to some outfit called questionpro.com. this makes your site seem like it has been hacked and questionpro.com look like a scam /criminal site. which of course it may be since you don’t seem to be responding…

As others already pointed out, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
Using Opera on top of Vista, there is only 100/102 elements loaded. I don’t like the right justification. Numbering the posts make replying easier.
It doesn’t entirely suck. Get rid of the “Recent Comments” column on the page and make the main column on the page wider.
I don’t care much about the colors or much else.
Loaded very fast here, but I miss the comment numbers, I don’t like to have to click ‘More’ to view all the comments and 4 columns absolutely suck. I hate it

I like the top header with JCD’s glamorous eyes, but the right-justification on the comments is just too weird. Who would have thought of doing it that way? It certainly is strange!
Even you, on No Agenda, mentioned how great the numbered comments were and how it made replies so much more effective. Why would you get rid of it?
Right justified? My cursor keeps jumping around like Alfred1 at a logic seminar.
