This is a long video, so here are the highlights:

5:35) Agent whips out his nun chucks in anger
(7:45-8:00) The agent tells me in less than perfect English, “In the Border Patrol Checkpoint, the person’s rights doesn’t matter here.”
(16:50-17:10) I’m told that the police will arrive in less than 10 minutes to arrest me
(19:00-19:40) I’m accused of being a terrorist
(26:20) I’m told that I’m free to go without being searched

Thank God we live in a free country! But how long will our freedom last if we ignore our Bill of Rights?

The highest power in the US government is the Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land…not border patrol agents on a power trip that are about 75 miles from the border.

He is either correct about the law or he isn’t. If he’s wrong, why would the agents let him go? Either way, he’s definitely on the list now…hope it was worth it.

  4. chris says:

Best not to cooperate with searches.  You don’t really gain anything by cooperating.  As long as you are not abusive they aren’t going to do anything to you. If they claim evidence enough to perform the search anyway do not interfere, but why should you voluntarily let anybody look through your stuff. I can think of no individual  or social benefit to voluntarily consenting to any search of your person or belongings whether or not you’ve done anything wrong.

  5. Ryan says:

This guy should have acknowledge the fact that they just need mere suspicion to detain him. Then ask what were these suspicions that caused him to be sent to secondary. Depending on their answer, I’d request legal council.

  6. George says:

Don’t ever talk to cops.  Do not admit anything ever.  Do not consent to any searches.  If you are not free to leave, then you are under arrest.  Ask for a lawyer immediately.  You can not help yourself by talking.  The cops are not your friends.  Everything they are doing is to establish probable cause and to build a case against you.  Let them do their job.  Do not do it for them.

  10. Nimby says:

Since when do the Border Patrol carry nun-chucks?

  11. meetsy says:

I’m in Washington State…in an area crawling with these Border Patrol Agents.  They carry themselves like a military group — it’s “us v.s. them” mentality.  They are frustrated with the way locals don’t accept them, because all their training tells them they are supposed to be greeted with open arms.  I’ve talked to more tehan a few of the guys…and they aren’t entirely sure what they are doing, either. But, they have a good paying job…and want to keep the jobs. Better than flipping burgers, I suppose.
The local cops seem to have no real interest in dealing with them, working with them, or supporting them — only Homeland Security gives these big GRANTS which have the stipulation that they MUST PLAY NICE and do whatever is ordered.   The troopers (who haven’t gottent he grants, yet) aren’t so keen on them, and, they can’t even give them tickets for speeding  (common)

The BP’s have started stopping cars…usually if the occupants look “too mexican”. It is outrageous. I know it’s a way to get break our spirit…resistance is futile…and make it seem commonplace.

Look at some of these comments…..”just do what they want” and pro-border patrol.  You guys are IDIOTS.  We have border agetns, called Customs Agents. We have enough policing, if the various agencies did their jobs. The whole issue of illegal aliens should be dealt with as it always used to be (in the 70’s!!!)…..administratively. If employers wouldn’t hire nonresidents without the proper paperwork…no issue.  If wiring $$$ out of the country wasn’t exceptionally easy. No issue.   The governement isn’t doing the Border Patrol nonsense to control that, they’re doing it to make us docile, and meek.
Wake up!  I think our government has sold out …and we’re all doomed unless we wise up.
THIS TEXT EDITOR SUCKS< BY THE WAY

  12. Mark T. says:

How come these INS officers are only within 100 miles of the border?  If they were to come to San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, and Austin then they could corral hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of illegal aliens.

Too bad that it is usually disallowed for local police officers to ask the simple question “Are you a United States citizen?”  This would net 100 times as many illegal aliens as these border patrol checkpoints.  I have spoken to local Texas police officers and they are instructed not to question suspected illegal aliens of their national origin or whether they have a green card.  The officers concentrate on the locals and let the illegals go with a ticket (which is promptly trashed).  The reason?  Because that is the prerogative of the Federal Government to enforce immigration laws and it is out of local or state jurisdiction.  That and the fact that illegal aliens could be violating either criminal or civil laws (which complicates things).  It is a criminal felony to enter the country illegally whilst it is a civil violation to overstay a visa.  Both, however, are Federal laws, not state or local laws.

I went through one of these checkpoints outside of Big Bend National Park a few weeks back.  It was not a big deal.  I told them my home town, showed them my driver’s license, told them that I was on vacation, and it was “have a nice day”.  One guy in our group was a U.K. citizen.  He showed him his green card and it was “have a nice day” as well.

Honestly, I wish there were more INS agents all over the southern states bordering Mexico, not just within a 100 miles of the border.  If not that, then local police should be allowed to detain suspected illegal aliens pending an INS review.

However, if a policeman were to ask for proof of citizenship, the ACLU would come down on the local municipality like a ton of bricks.  It is now deemed easier and less trouble just to give all the illegals citizenship.  Insanity.

  13. noname says:

What’s this left to right crap, designed in China where people read left to right.

Any way this guy is a true American.  He is showing what it means to be an American.  Unfortunately in the USA standing up for your rights is suspicious and non-cooperative.

  14. Mark T. says:

One other comment, I would like to see what this guy does at an airport when he wants to board a jet to NYC.  Do you think he would pull this same kind of stunt?

  15. RSweeney says:

Yes, they won’t defend the border but they will harass people within it.

  16. Talk to the Hand says:

RE: The new design…Just because you guys have great BIG FRICKIN MONITORS  doesn’t mean everyone does. I have a 17″ monitor and I have to scroll sideways to see half the page. And the frickin edit function is. retarded.

  17. Wretched Gnu says:

As usual, the conservatives on this board are confused about the law.  No US agent can claim that it is “suspicious activity” for a citizen to perform the actions — or non-actions — that he has every right to perform.

It is unbelievable that these agents actually asserted that the driver has “no rights at this checkpoint.”

  18. faxon says:

Well. I have mixed feelings about this one. I support a closed border. I support the right to travel about the country without being searched at random.  I believe that the Border Patrol should be able to apprehend the people sneaking in, but they have to leave me the hell alone. So I guess the answer is racial profiling. I mean, really, how many white guys sneak into this country from Mexico?  Well, of course that will draw fire, but the guy was kind of a prick about it, but no more of a prick than cops all over the place are on a daily basis.  I wonder how a politician would feel if they were stopped at such a checkpoint?  Really. Would Nancy Pelosi consent? Would Harry Reid?  No.  But then, they are so much better than the rest of us.
And, John, once you fix the comments formatting, the web site will be ok. However, I don’t need to see your furrowed brow every day, do I?

  19. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz says:

I ran into those all the time up this way before then buffer zone deal.

Its definitely over 100 miles from Canadian Border in Vermont. there is a checkpoint run by border patrols.  Its prettey weird and stupid I thought because no Citizen of USA carry proof of Citizenship.

They mainly stop anybody who’s going with NY plate just incase they’re smuggling drug from canada.

  20. dexton7 says:

Yeah, we’ll soon have checkpoints like this on every major state line  crossing in the USA… Enjoy the freedom.

  21. ResEdit says:

This idiot abused his own personal rights by wasting the time of the agents. They have the legal authority to stop and check vehicles but the horse’s ass wanted to see how far he could push law enforcement . What the officers should have done it politely pull him over and have their supervisor deal with him in about 4 hours.  The closed window routine is an obvious effort of uncooperation.

  22. The Elite Establishment says:

Thanks for your support ResEdit. Please keep reminding the minions of their place and that questioning of authority is not to be done. It is slaves like you that we can count on!

  23. RandomAmerican says:

Yes, he totally abused his own personal rights by asserting his own personal rights.

  24. Fortuna says:

    Its amazing
Outsiders carefully and methodologically attack the US
Here in California we have rampant illegal immigration
    Political correctness is the norm
We even have to give the
undocumented residents all kind of rights and privileges that
    the local Californians
as per this example do not get
and they go after ordinary people working hard to make a living and survive
    ‘What a country   ”   .

  25. Paddy-O says:

Everybody who thinks this is bad needs to chill.  Obamaman knows the Constitution and will totally handle this.  Sit back and relax.  All is in good hands…

  26. Todd Peterson says:

The US has become a fascist state.

    Congratulations!

  27. Stars & Bars says:

Paddy-O, Re: “Sit back and relax”
Hasn’t that been the problem all along, people sitting back and letting the “Establishment” take care of their responsibilities.
This country is being Hi-Jacked BY THE ESTABLISHMENT.
