A Ukranian driver already having a bad day – having taken a wrong turn onto a highway – found it getting a lot worse when he gingerly crept over a water-filled pothole, only to discover it was a 12-foot deep crater.
The formerly shiny hatchback moved over the hole and then, with no time to reverse, found itself plunging deep into an abyss caused by a broken water main.
Found by Heinrich Moltke.
Good to remember. No matter how bad your day, someone else has got it worse.
Why go into the puddle when he could have gone around it? I see at least 1 lane open to the left and there is a dirt shoulder on the right….
#2 – um, he thought it was a puddle. he was driving a truck. most cars and trucks don’t change lanes to avoid puddles.
Still, it was hilarious.
Cripes! Watta hole!

A truck? That looks like a tiny VW Eurocar…
“hatchback” therefore it’s a car ๐
This is funny, made my day. As someone said, could have gone around and not risk it. I mean, look at the size of the puddle!!!
We had a man drown in the same kind of accident here in Wisconsin.
FORE!!!
Wow, that’s a pretty unassuming puddle from the picture. I’d have fallen for it too ๐
… I’m glad potholes aren’t anything like THAT back home, even though we have the worst streets in the province
Or, “The Obama Administration took a detour from their economic plan today”.
That thing could have been a hundred feet or more deep in fact it may be. All we know is he didn’t go all the way to the bottom.
We do have sink holes around here but so far nothing like that has happened.
HA! we’ve had entire semi tractor trailers swalloed whole in the potholes here…
๐
that was just a puddle….
Couple of years back, my hometown had a sinkhole take out the entire front parking lot of a restaurant. Four or five vehicles were swallowed, including a Corvette.

Where are you guys located? I’ve never seen one that big before, aside from landslides and such ๐
