Okay, no Cranky Geeks on Tivo. That means I won’t see Cranky Geeks anymore. I want this type of programing on my TV. Oh, and Dvorak, you would think you would be a little more concerned that one of the major outlets of your little show is gone. PCmag, want a bunch of cheap bastards. Even Rose and those bunch of drunks over at Revision3 get they’re programming on.
Is it Intel or IBM that is allegedly poised to buy Sun? The summary above says Intel, John says IBM in the audio piece.
Have you shopped Geeks to the cable networks? I could see it as a weekend CNN show or after Red Eye on Fox. Maybe you could do a show on Obama’s Blackberry or something to get them hooked. 🙂
On the Canon camera…
I think it is a great idea that will be very useful for print photographers who need to get some web content too. I have a Canon 1D Mark II N, which is bulky and walking around with that and an extra lens and a video camera would be a pita. It’s efficient too. If you have $2k worth of glass on your still camera it would be great to be able to use that same lens for video with the flip of a switch. (And you wouldn’t look like an idiot with all these things hanging off you.) Plus you often have a brief window when the action happens in a news story.
All of us in journalism are moving from crews toward multi-platform one-man-bands and this sort of thing helps. I think it’s a natural progression rather than just whistles and bells.
