“Augie” the Cash Munching Doggie

APEX, N.C. – A North Carolina family’s dog didn’t eat the children’s homework, he ate mom’s money.

Kelley Davis said she had an extra $400 in cash to deposit after working extra hours as a physical therapist. She told the News & Observer of Raleigh that on Friday she planned to deposit the money, but it wasn’t in her pocket.

She remembered leaving it in the bedroom and it occurred to her that the family’s 2-year-old greater Swiss mountain dog, Augie, might have eaten it.

Davis, 42, said when she took Augie for a walk Saturday, she found parts of three $100 bills and five $20s in his leavings. She washed them with a garden hose and hopes to find enough pieces to exchange them for cash.

A professor at the North Carolina State University Veterinary School said the money shouldn’t hurt the dog.

Ewwww! That cash needs to be laundered.

I feel the same way about my hard earned money and the recent bail outs. Funny, the results will probably be the same. It will all end up in a pile of dog poo.

  2. Ron Larson says:

I believe that you need 51% of the note to redeem it at the Fed for a replacement. I really feel bad for the poor dude at the FRB who has to deal with this woman.

  3. Kanjy says:

You think that’s bad? My dog slurps up quarters.

  4. moondawg says:

My dog chewed up my new $210 sunglasses the day I bought them.

Did you know sunglass hut has a “no questions asked” 90 day warranty? I brought the salavagable pieces back to the store and got a new pair on the spot!

  5. Expensive dog food!!

Woodpecker breaks a car mirror and several posters want to shoot it.

Doggie eats $400 in cash and….

Just wondering if the trigger happy problem-solvers here consider this animal “fair game” too.

    Get out the tweezers

  8. bobbo says:

My dog ate a hole in the back of a brand new suit – never even got a chance to wear it. I did put his nose in it and slapped the shit out of him. He never ate another suit. Better than a Repuglican in that respect.

Later, he attacked a 200AM visitor to the house who used his doggie door without permission. He rubbed his nose in the door way, gave him his favorite biscuit and a long walk. Better than a Repuglican in that respect too.

  9. Mr. Fusion says:

I think that dog is lucky they weren’t checking his innards out.

Then I’d shoot the poor miserable son of a bitch.

  10. Special Ed says:

I’m checking my leavings now, who knows?

  11. Pegoto says:

Yeah, $400 is alot, but not that much considering she is a physical therapist. If she worked hard for the $400, then she must be charging almost nothing for her services. I mean the dentist charged me $100 for not showing up for an appointment, wow, hard earned.

News worthy? I mean, must be a slow day i guess.

#9. Oh look, the anti gun liberal turns out to be an animal abuse advocate…how nice.

Any other dark violent tendencies you would like share?

  13. Angel H. Wong says:

That has a very simple solution, drag the dog towards a wad of cash and then beat the crap out of it while you keep on rubbing the cash on its snout.
