1: Dems opposed abolition of slavery.
2: Dems still have a clan member in Senate.
3: Blacks vote Dem.
4: Dems oppose vouchers for inner city blacks so they stay uneducated…

Yup, Byrd was the last “admitted’ ex-Klan member in Congress. Not that it has anything to do with the Republikan Southern Strategy.

David Duke ran as many times as a Democrat as he did as a Republic. The only thing he ever won was a State House seat. Any idiot can get elected to a State House seat. (He proved that any idiot can get elected to a State House Seat)
Robert Byrd not only won the Democrat primary, but also won the general election to the US House of Representatives. The Democrats wanted him.
There is no comparison.
Michael Steele is a good man. He was the guy I would have picked to head the RNC or even head the country. I have heard good things about him. I wish him the best. I hope Michael Steele becomes President someday.
What I want to know is – will Nascar fans play the “race” card?

So inner city people only deserve a good education if they leave their local schools??? And how are inner city youth suppose to get to these schools? Vouchers have always been for the wealthier population to retrieve taxes paid to inner city school districts. Just more republican “redistribution” of wealth. Take from the “poor” schools and give to the private ones.
Or take from the middle class and give to the Iraqis or the rich or the wealthiest banks in the world. Whatever… Just more cynicism from a bankrupt party, morally, culturally, and ethically.

Correction: the US Senate. Even worse. Although he used to be a US Congressman before becoming a Senator.
The Republicans are not overwhelmingly white. They’ve had 4 black congressional members already:
Senator Edward W. Brooke of Massachusetts Representative Gary Franks of Connecticut
Delegate Melvin H. Evans of the U.S. Virgin Islands
Representative J. C. Watts of Oklahoma

And thankfully, there aren’t enough of them left in the country to win many elections.

Oh stop the silliness over which party is more ‘racist’. Neither in reality. The Republicans aren’t racist so much as they just went after a southern state electoral strategy in the last couple decades, which REQUIRES winning the votes of the rural white voters…who happen to include, but not ONLY, the KKK. I know the parties flip flopped around on this ‘southern’ ownership over the last century, but the CURRENT and existing ownership of the KKK is the Republican party. You think the KKK are voting for the party of Obama and gay rights? Not…er…likely. Granted in 25 years this could all flip flop again. Change is the only constant in the universe (well, that and the Planck constant)

I believe that the best thing that ever happened to conservative radio/tv talkshow hosts is for the Democrats to win the presidential election, now they don’t have to behave like Glam rock groupies and support every act of stupidity performed by Bush Jr. and his posse.

Yes, I watch the Republican convention and could hardly find anyone other then rich white people there. They really have a racist image that has to change. Otherwise they will become a minority.

LBJ drove southern whites into the republican party when he signed the voting rights act.They weren’t racist but they were against black folks voting in their states.I guess that makes them votist.
Would you be racist if you voted for someone because of their race? What the the percentage of blacks that voted for Obahma? Does that work statistically? Black, Dem = Racist
