1. Miguel says:

    How stoopid is stoopid enough???

Doesn’t look staged, he’s really dumb – but good with his hands… Unfortunately he burned one of them πŸ˜€ LOL

    Dasvidanya

  2. Mark Derail says:

Truly shocking, and a good laugh.

Is it worth 5$ JCD? Hmmm, I’ll juggle that thought.

  3. bobbo says:

No trick here, just demonstrated ambidexterity. If the pen was plastic as most are, I would have grabbed it too. I’d remember to unplug the lamp only after getting the shock.

  4. Personality says:

It seems a little fake… I can’t put my finger on it, but something is off.

  5. Miguel says:

The dying pig sound he made was also priceless!

Anyone has a translation for what he said? (Except the dying pig part, that’s universal πŸ™‚

And I’d unplug it first! I always disconnect the circuit breakers if I have to work on anything electrical that can’t be unplugged. My old man taught me that, and me learned! πŸ™‚

  6. ChuckM says:

Definately fake. The arm moves and lighting changes just before the pen takes flight. But I must admit a pretty good cut.

  7. Doc says:

He’s watched to many Tom Cruise movies…

  8. shortchef says:

I don’t see how it can be considered a trick, every drummer can do the same thing at some skill level. Not very impressive except for the electrocution.

  9. Bob says:

This should definitely be in the failblog hall of fame. Most people that know anything about electricity (or safety for that matter) know that he should have unplugged the lamp (or at least hit the off switch) soon as it happened.

Even if the pen doesn’t conduct electricity, you can still get hit from proximity to the current.

  10. FRAGaLOT says:

looks fake too me.. watching the part where it flies off his left hand into the lamp doesn’t look real.

  11. Mr. Fusion says:

Fake or not, I got a good laugh.

  12. The0ne says:

It’s his dumb voice that cracks me up at the end. πŸ™‚

  13. jccalhoun says:

His reaction is what makes it scream fake to me.

  14. Miguel says:

Nah, it sounded like a genuine involuntary scream – you can’t fake that dying pig squeal, no way! πŸ™‚

BTW, I remember an electrical shock I got some 25 years ago, from an old Beta VCR, and I also screamed involuntarily. Not like a pig, I hope, more like a ‘wwwwwwwwwwwwwwooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!’, and when I realized it I was standing up was some 5 feet away from the device that tasered me:) All involuntary. I think that’s what happened to this kid. Lovely nonetheless πŸ™‚

  15. The Monster's Lawyer says:

    my hero

  16. RTaylor says:

#2 I’m waiting for JCD to up the ante before sending money. He should offer a signed 8×10 head shot and a secret decoder ring.

  17. BillsBayou says:

Definitely faked. Funny, but faked. As the pen hits the light, two areas on the desk are suddenly lit. One is in front of the guy’s stomach. No light; POP; Now lit. The other is on the bottom left of the screen. Again: No light; POP; Now lit. I do not know the origin of this sudden light. My guess: It is a friend who is there to move the pen into the light socket once the pen twirler has paused. Then the video is edited. However, the friend did not place himself into the same position in the room. Thus, the lighting change.
