There is the prospect of a third member of the Bush family perhaps occupying the White House one day. Former President George H.W. Bush said on “Fox News Sunday” he would like to see his second son, Jeb Bush, become President.
The former President admitted right now would probably be a bad time” for another Bush in the White House, given the low public opinion rankings for the current President Bush.
The elder Bush said in spite of that, he wants to encourage his son Jeb’s political aspirations to “serve the greatest country in the world.”
The public elected Obama, a man with limited political experience. Could his presidency and cabinet be so bad as to swing the pendulum back to another Bush?
“The public elected Obama, a man with limited political experience. Could his presidency and cabinet be so bad as to swing the pendulum back to another Bush?”
I don’t think the danger is from Obama or his cabinet but, from the Dem Congress which is the most unpopular in history…
“Could his presidency and cabinet be so bad as to swing the pendulum back to another Bush?”
Sadly, yes.
Barrack Obama has entangled himself in the Gov. Blagojevich corruption scandal. The man hasn’t even taken office yet and the deceit pouring out of his administration has already gone into to full swing.
So much for change.
We’ll see in 8 years!
Obama is entangled in the Blagojevich scandal? By whose definitiion of reality? Reid has a more blatant role in this than anyone from Obama’s camp. Besides, the fucktards trying to link Obama to that mess also admit there is nothing there, and can only walk around like mouth-breathing dullards repeating the same shit in the hopes that people will buy it.
Bush? that brand is so fucked up it isn’t even funny. Jeb could actually be a halfway-decent choice, but after his father’s pussy-presidency and brother’s ham-handed buffoonery. I’d rather have root canal than vote for that putz.
Maybe Jeb…
But maybe Ricky Martin Bush!

Don’t forget the Repuglican Congress. There are 202 Repuglicans in that august body, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re the ones dragging the approval rating down.
I like Jeb Bush, he is popular and many of my Florida friends do as well. He is the pick of the Bush litter.
Unfortunately, Dumbya has so polluted the Bush name that it may be near impossible. Also, Jeb will have to compete with Palin’s tits and wink for any nomination. Tough road indeed for Jeb.

Yes, because the minority party controls the Congress.
Still need your address…
2,
“Barrack Obama has entangled himself in the Gov. Blagojevich corruption scandal. The man hasn’t even taken office yet and the deceit pouring out of his administration has already gone into to full swing.”
Uh… couldn’t that be any politician at any time in the US? Just do some search and replace on the names…
I’d vote for that dumb Kennedy woman before I’d vote for another Bush. But, yes, people really are that stupid!
# 9 Named said, “Uh… couldn’t that be any politician at any time in the US? Just do some search and replace on the names…”
Exactly. Change the name from Gov. Blagojevich to Gov. Richardson…
Americans are dumb enough to vote for another Bush.
This isn’t a popular vote story, this is a GOP internal dynamics story. The blue blood wing of the party wants to position their guy (Jeb) to be the nominee in ’12, and they’re starting now.
Personally, I don’t see it happening, because the individuals the Bush family leaned on to get W. the nomination for ’00 are no longer involved with party leadership.

If by “controls”, you mean can prevent them from over-riding Dumbya’s veto, you’re spot on.
Congragulations, Paddy-RAMBO. You seem to be getting with the program.
@#3: I wish him 8 years as that would mean that he have improved the country and got re-elected. And, that would be good for all of us. But, his present behavior does not encourage my hopes. Why didn’t he personally talk with Blago’ and ask him to resign immediately? Why he haven’t personally spoken with Burris and arranged for reasonable resolution vs. present indirect arguments and fights? Why did he try to nominate Richardson knowing about his corruption issues? Where is the leadership (mind you all these are related to his own party, nominees and his own Senate seat, not country in general)?
11,
Or Governor Rick Perry?
You heard it here first!
This is the only conceivable way Jeb could become Pres.
A terrorist attack. Yep, terrorist successfully attack the US under an Obama presidency would swing the public against him so fast we’ll all get whiplash.
Suddenly the Patriot Act and Guantanamo wouldn’t look so bad,
Nor another Bush in the White House.
It is hard to imagine that even the democrats could screw up so badly that another bozo Bush could be elected
It’ll be Jindal in 2012 for R’s.
“George H.W. Bush said on “Fox News Sunday” he would like to see his second son, Jeb Bush, become President.”
Of course he would. Can you imagine the pain Pappy must feel, knowing that the Bush Legacy for the 21st Century will be 8 years of incompetence, bungling, dishonesty, deceit, and criminal behavior? Yikes.
I’ll also bet that if we could read his mind, he wishes Dumbya never ran. He could have spent the past 8 years finally getting all that brush cleared from his Crawford “ranch”, rather than dragging his family’s name into the gutter of history.
Now don’t get me wrong, I hope Obama is the best President since Washington. In that case everyone wins, Republican, Democratic, the whole world.
But if Obama follows through on his promises to undo much of what Bush did and afterward we have another 911, well, say goodbye to his Presidency and any Democratic hopes for quite a few years.
#19 Mister Mustard.
I’ve thought the exact same thing.
# 13 Mister Mustard said, “If by “controls”, you mean can prevent them from over-riding Dumbya’s veto, you’re spot on.”
Which major vetos (in the last 2 years) would those be?
I still need your address…

I’m tired of doing your work, Paddy-RAMBO. You’re big on talk, short on action. So put up, or shut (TF) up.
And before you go too far out on a limb regarding the unpopularity of the “Democratic” congress, nb. that the “Republican” congress in office at the end of ’06 was every bit as unpopular:

# 23 Mister Mustard said, “I’m tired of doing your work, Paddy-RAMBO. You’re big on talk, short on action. So put up, or shut (TF) up.”
For those unfamiliar with mustard: There has been no veto’s of major legislation during the 2 years that the Dems have controlled congress.
Bush used his veto about 12 times in 8 years with 33% being overturned.
In perspective, Clinton used his veto about 37 times in 8 years, with 5% being overturned.
Bush has the lowest veto usage since Warren Harding.
Looking at the numbers, those vetos that were overturned, received support from both sides. (like Duh!)
Those that failed to be overturned, had Republican’s voting to overturn the vetos as well.
Congressional record does show that the last two sittings of Congress (Democratic controlled) were the least productive in decades.
The record doesn’t support the view that, the Republican’s in the minority, had more “control” over Congress than the Democrats did when they were in the minority.
If you don’t believe me, google it, I did…
PS
If the Democrats really want to get things done in Congress they need to get rid of Pelosi and Reid in favor of more competent leaders.
#24 – Paddy-RAMBO
For those unfamiliar with Paddy-RAMBO, his allegation that the “Democratic” Congress has historically low approval ratings is, as usual, nothing more than unadulterated bullshit. Their approval rating is no lower than the “Republican” Congress of 2006 (see link provided above in my message #23).
And, as usual, he keeps twisting and turning the issue at hand until he thinks he can claim victory, when all recognize it as nothing more than hubris in defeat.
You really ought to make like ‘dro, bro, and STFU. Your batting average lately is worse than Congress’s approval rating.
The match-up for 2016 (or maybe 2012): Jeb Bush vs. Hillary Clinton.
There’d be lotsa yucks in that race!
#25 – FTR
Yep, and what did Dumbya veto?
US Troop Readiness, Veterans’ Care, Katrina Recovery, and Iraq Accountability HR 1591 :COULD NOT OVERTURN
Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act of 2007
S 5 :COULD NOT OVERTURN
Children’s Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2007 HR 976 :COULD NOT OVERTURN
Water Resources Development Act of 2007
HR 1495 :OVERTURNED
Appropriations: Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, 2008
HR 3043 :COULD NOT OVERTURN
Children’s Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2007
HR 3963 :COULD NOT OVERTURN
National Defense Authorization Act for FY2008 HR 1585 :REFERRED TO HOUSE ARMED SERVICESS COMMITTEE
Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2008 HR 2082 :COULD NOT OVERTURN
Food, Conservation, and Energy Act of 2008
HR 2419 :COULD NOT OVERTURN
Food, Conservation, and Energy Act of 2008
HR 6124 :OVERTURNED
Medicare Improvement for Patients and Providers Act of 2008 HR 6331 :OVERTURNED
So. Of the 11 bills Dumbya vetoed during the “Democratic” Congress, only 3 of the vetoes could be overridden.
Looks like the minority Repuglican party in Congress is controlling pretty well. No wonder their approval ratings are in the crapper.
Won’t happen.
