Anti-Jewish commentary is flooding the Internet in the wake of Bernard Madoff’s arrest on charges of masterminding one of the biggest Wall Street frauds in history, campaigners said Friday. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) said there had been “an outpouring of anti-Semitic comments on mainstream and extremist Web sites.”

Madoff, 70, is Jewish and a prominent member of the powerful US Jewish community. He is alleged to have defrauded investors, including a number of Jewish-related charities, of some 50 billion dollars.

“Site users have posted comments ranging from deeply offensive stereotypical statements about Jews and money — with some suggesting that only Jews could perpetrate a fraud on such a scale — to conspiracy theories about Jews stealing money to benefit Israel,” the ADL said in a statement.

“Jews are always a convenient scapegoat in times of crisis, but the Madoff scandal and the fact that so many of the defrauded investors are Jewish has created a perfect storm for the anti-Semites,” said Abraham Foxman, ADL national director.

“Nowadays, the first place Jew-haters will go is to the Internet, where they can give voice to their hateful ideas without fear of repercussions.”

Does it count when you cheat your own “people”, or is that OK?

#34–Zorkor==good morning, or is it evening in your world???

When a muslim blows up a cafeteria killing 14 other muslims, is he being anti-muslim or something else?

All I have to say is that it serves the investor’s right for their losses. As I have heard on the radio Madoff was referred to new investor’s from clients who happened to be pretty close friends with Madoff. Maybe they should have done more due diligence before they hand off large sums of money to someone.

He’s 70 years old and clearly doesn’t have anything to lose at this point… other than his reputation and a good deal of friends, which he won’t need after he kicks it in a year or two anyway.

It still hasn’t even been PROVEN that these Jewish charities (by Jews and strictly FOR Jews)have actually lost any money.

Jews look out for Jews. they may toss a few bucks for a playground in the Bronx or jot off a check to a gentile foodbank somewhere, but at the end of the day?

Jews look out for Jews and look down upon all others.

ZORKOR===QUIT POSTING UNDER FAKE NAMES. Shamefull you post your twisted idiotic lies using Western Names. No real American named Carcarius or William would ever be so stupid and low brow.

Easy to catch these terrorists if you just use the right profile!!!

Note: Carcarius is harder to spot until you recognize “car” is used twice==car idiot==American for sure). Clever, Zorkor, but not clever enough.

I once went to meet a Jewish girl I encountered online. She was a nice girl, her brother was funny and intelligent and we had a good time. But over and over again she emphasized that she was “Jewish”. She wanted me to know that. As the meeting progressed I felt a growing sort of panic or discomfort; I don’t know a better way to express it. I ended the date knowing I didn’t want to know her better. What some people call Anti-Semitism I call the concerned outpouring from the hearts of non-Jews. Slapping an unpleasant name like “Anti-Semitism” on expressions like ours is like making illegal a yelp of pain or a cry of fear. It’s natural and protective.

That’s because one of my goals in life is to offend as many ethnic groups as possible.

    #20 Gary..

    -thanks for the clarification/heads-up.

    i rethought the issue…
the more i thought about it -and actually *read*
what i was reading about the scam, the more it appeared that this number was pulled out of hat, -for effect.

i’m more inclined now to think the majority of those involved knew what was(nt) going on and are using the “i’m shocked to find this out” defense so as to get an easy tax write-off on the loss. -ironically, it makes pulling numbers out of thin air even more believable.

I say the frontline *victims* came in knowing they could easily use the plausible deniability
of “not knowing” coupled with madoff’s shiny reputation to make some $$ on the way in, -and on the way out when it blew up..

call me jaded but the “hide it in plain sight” approach of the last decades worth of fraud and corruption at all levels of government, law enforcement, military, banking, media and wall street, leave me with no confidence to believe anything reported even resembles the truth.

-and with the new administration *first claiming ZERO contact* with Blago’s office in the chicago senate seat scandal, they have effectively set the precedence and tone for their term….Lies and Deceit as usual. -and everyone is going along with it.

-great way to start the new year..
