A Wal-Mart worker died after being trampled when hundreds of shoppers smashed through the doors of a Long Island store Friday morning, police and witnesses said.
The 34-year-old worker, employed as an overnight stock clerk, tried to hold back the unruly crowds just after the Valley Stream store opened at 5 a.m.
Witnesses said the surging throngs of shoppers knocked the man down. He fell and was stepped on. As he gasped for air, shoppers ran over and around him.

A 28-year-old pregnant woman was knocked to the floor during the mad rush. She was hospitalized for observation, police said. Early witness accounts that the woman suffered a miscarriage were unfounded, police said.
You won’t see me shopping on Black Friday… no way. More photos here.

Looks like the economy is good shape. Time to raise the price of gas again.
What a bunch of savages…

Bring it on!!!
That pregnant woman attending the Black Friday store opening should be arrested for child endangerment. Must be a crack-whore not capable of being a good mother.
Would somebody please explain what the heck is ‘Black Friday’? and why would these people sacrifice their humanity for such a thing? You’d expect something like this from some kind of disaster situation, not from a mad rush of consumeristic frenzy.
Black Friday:
“The day after Thanksgiving, when stores decide to open at the asscrack of dawn to start Christmas sales. Most people fall for this ploy and wake up at 4am to fight other mothers for cheap presents.”
…from the Urban Dictionary.
I think it’s really called Black Friday because that’s when all of the store’s profits go from in the red to in the black on this massive sale day.
It’s called Black Friday because it’s traditionally when stores turn profitable for the year; therefore, “in the black.”
What in the hell is Walmat selling that would motivate someone to stand in line at 5am in a crowd?

$700 50″ flatscreens.

You could give them away for free and no one in my neighborhood would trample someone to get them.
Savages don’t need an excuse to be, savages.
Ain’t retirement living great?
#10—keep in mind that they don’t have an infinite supply of these TVs.

So? What does that have that do with killing people?
I buy so much from Amazon.com, I bought stock in it so I’d feel better.

That’s just because you get them for your neighbors with that Radio Shack employee discount. Not everyone has a Radio Shack counter boy living in their neighborhood.
Only in America folks!
Zorkor==where is that annual report on the number of muslims on their “once in a lifetime haje (sp?)” who get crushed in the 100’s by their fellow circle walkers?
I’d stay home and let the wrong-God West bomb me before I’d spend the energy to get crushed by my fellow worshipers.
At least with a TV, you can watch TV.
#17 or possibly Canada. Our version is called Boxing Day and it’s an ‘every man for himself’ day too.
Every good festival needs a human sacrifice. Just saying, maybe this wasn’t an accident.

ROFL!
Good one.
Disgusting. Breaking down doors and killing someone in order to be first to grab cheap Chinese crap to give to all the people they hate. Merry Christmas, everyone!
Thats sickening.
I’d pay $150 just not to stand for an hour in a crowd at wal-mart.
is it just a coincidence that only black people are on those pictures?
#25 – Doing early Christmas shoplifting.
I think I can wait a day or two longer.

Naw, all them jigaboos are either crack whores, pimps, or tramplers-to-death at Wal*Mart.

No.
The part that concerns me is our reactive thought that “they” did it. “They” killed people in Mumbai, “they” killed people in Long Island. This is not an isolated incident; in 2004, John wrote about a similar 2003 incident (thankfully, the woman survived). But I’ll submit that any of us, when we find ourselves in a mob, end up acting like…savages. The “they” is us.
wow,
i ment that maybe black friday refers to black people somehow
