The season of turkey, goodwill and consumerism might seem a long way off yet, but a December performance of “Nine Lessons and Carols for Godless People” that includes a turn by Richard Dawkins and the Guardian’s own Ben Goldacre has already sold out.
Have no fear though, the Bloomsbury Theatre in London, which is hosting the event on December 19, has now added another date on December 18 – but hurry up, tickets go on sale today and are expected to sell out fast.
The show is a spin-off of comedian Robin Ince’s regular show The School for Gifted Children and is being produced with the help of the folks at the New Humanist magazine. It is billed as, “a night of music and comedy to celebrate the rational and scientific and debunk Winterval myths spouted by religious and media ninnies.”
They’re featuring one musical group I haven’t been able to track down on recording [yet]: the Martin White mini fax machine orchestra.

Not sure about the mini fax machine orchestra, but you can hear the dulcet tones of Martin White (who is appearing at the Bloomsbury Theater in London on 12/18 and 12/19) hammering away on his squeeze box on his myspace page:

Hey Mustard–good job, you are getting mellow. No complaint of the Holiday Season being ruined by Atheist Programs taking over the Holiday Theater Scene.
I’ll have to wait for the other good christians to complain about ONE atheist oriented show ruining the season for the other 3,146,943 religious programs. Powerful stuff those atheists put out.

I’d probably be more likely to go see that show, if I were going to be in London, than a holy roller glam-rock musical about the baby Jesus, or the evils of homo-secksual marriage. Or even to unwrap my copy of “The Passion of the Christ” that someone gave me a few years ago, which I have not watched. Don’t need to hear what Mel thinks. I already know he thinks the Jews started all the wars.
