Barack Obama has not even been sworn in yet as the 44th president of the United States but groups are springing up online calling for his impeachment.

On Facebook, an “Impeach Barack Obama” group has attracted more than 700 members and a lively debate about the Democrat’s election victory on Tuesday over Republican John McCain. Another Facebook group of the same name has 160 members and urges others to join because “we might as well get a head start on the impeachment of Obama.” “There are a lot of Americans out there that do not fully understand the concept of Socialism or Communism which is why they’ve elected Obama as president,” it says.

Yet another Facebook group, “Impeach Barack Hussein Obama,” has 160 members.

It decries that Obama “has voiced support for various unconstitutional programs such as the assault weapons ban, universal healthcare, and various schemes for wealth distribution.”

“What are we going to do about it? IMPEACH HIM!” it says.

Obama still has some way to go, however, to equal the number of “Impeach George Bush” groups on Facebook, which lists at least 95 such groups with varying membership.

Get your spot on the bandwagon before it’s too late….

Talk to EricFromMadison. It’s his idea, not mine.

    #40,
my appologies. Too bad my quill pen doesn’t have an eraser 🙂

  4. Dallas says:

Not surprised .This is the shit we can always count on from the Republicans.

I say, push them aside and make them irrelevant. We have work to do.

  5. Les says:

    Yes, make us irrelevant.

    In other news today:
Obama now says he wont get rid of the “Bush tax cuts on high-income households because of the fragility of the economy.”

I thought his tax plan was better? Why would we keep the Bush plan because the economy is too fragile? hmmmm

    Also:
Barack Obama’s senior advisers have drawn up plans to lower expectations for his presidency, amid concerns that many of his euphoric supporters are harboring unrealistic hopes of what he can achieve. In an interview with a Colorado radio station, Obama appeared to be engaged already in expectation lowering.

Ah, O’Furniture. The Constitution is so 20th century.

We’ve been indoctrinated for the past 8 years that it’s “just a goddamned piece of paper”, and only the parts that serve one’s purpose are to be observed.

Too true. Now for another 8 years of the same. Just involving different parts of the document.

You think there’s something wrong with that?

Many people seem to be under the impression that just because it was so easy for Dumbya to fuck things up, it’s just a question of starting to do things right, and all the malignancy of his 8 years on the throne will magically disappear.

Not so, any more that you can get rid of black lung disease after a lifetime working in coal mines just by retiring.

Let’s hope the myriad diseases Dumbya has infected America with are more amenable to treatment than that.

  9. Les says:

Of course Obama said in reference to the Ledbetter case, that he wouldn’t appoint judges who would be constrained by the letter of the law.

  10. Paddy-O says:

“The nonpartisan Tax Policy Center estimates Obama’s program would add US$3.5-trillion to U. S. debt over the next 10 years, including interest. His plans for health care– which may be delayed by financial necessity — would tack on another US$1.6-trillion.”

  11. Les says:

I am just saying that BHO, like almost every other politician, lied to get elected.

What parts of the document do you imagine President Obama will be using to wipe his ass?

  13. chuck says:

Well, he’s a secret Muslim, and he’s not a natural-born American (since he was really born in Kenya). Are these impeachable offenses?

  14. Mister Mustard says:

    >>I am just saying that BHO, like almost every

Not so, Lester. Mr. B. HUSSEIN Obama (how childish perseverating on that middle name seems, now that the election is over) didn’t lie. And even if he had, how would you know it? He hasn’t even been inaugurated yet!?)

He never said he could right all of Dumbya’s wrongs overnight.

He is simply trying to prevent the inevitable screeching and whining of the right wingnuts when, after 100 days, they start with their idiotic “SEE, IT’S BEEN 100 DAYS AND WE’RE STILL IN IRAQ!” and “LOOKIE, IT’S BEEN 100 DAYS AND THE DOW ISN’T TRADING AT AT 20,000 YET!” and “HUSSEIN LIED, AND THE RIGHT WING CRIED”.

He said what he’s going to do. Now let’s give him a chance to see if he does it.

Give it time, son. Bush did an almost incalculable amount of damage to America. It can’t all be repaired at once.

The Republicans proved with Clinton that impeachment is a purely political process. All you need is a majority of congress and 60 votes in the senate.

I think Republicans should make this their central issue in 2010;) “Give us congress and we will impeach Barky!”

  16. chuck says:

#53 – wasn’t the election purely a political process? isn’t everything that politician’s do always a purely political process?

Isn’t that why it’s called politics?

  17. GregA says:

    #54,

Like I keep saying, I hope the Republicans pursue the next two years with the idea that they will impeach Obama once they regain congress;)

  18. Les says:

    #52,
would you ever say that if I mentioned GWB? Why whould BHO be any different. I dont get it.

Of course he lied. He changed stories many times.

Lets see, I was never in the church when Rev Wright was saying those things, then the video comes out and he change his story.

He’s no different. His initials are no different. Get over it.

  19. GregA says:

I suggest the gel type lube (Astroglide or KY Jelly) over the rubbing oil type of lubes;)

All you need is to set up Obama with this and this.

Im HOPPING Obama, isnt 1/2 as bad..

    >>it.

Think about it. Dumbya had eight long years to show the depths of his duplicitous nature.

If we’re going back to pre-inaugural times, the difference becomes overwhelming.

Mabye HUSSEIN Obama was in church when the Rev was bad mouthing America, maybe he wasn’t (I’d like to see the link to that video, btw; the ones I find are either just of HUSSEIN Obama in the church, not of Wright badmouthing America). He sat on a board of directors with a guy who ineffectively bombed a statue and a building when HUSSEIN Obama was EIGHT YEARS old, and who is now a college professor and an advisor to the mayor of Chicago. Have I missd anything?

Dumbya, on the other hand, has a record of pre-inaugural misbehavior, lies, deceit, etc. that stretches back as far as the historian can recall.

I thought we were sticking with the “he lied to get elected” time frame.

    >>Of course he lied. He changed stories
    >>many times.

I have no idea wtf you’re talking about. He may have changed his opinions over time based on learning, knowledge, and experience.

That’s not “lying”. That’s growing. No one ever accused Dumbya of THAT, you can be sure.

On the other hand, when it comes to flip-flopping, NOBODY beats George W. Bush.

  26. fred says:
