Anyone see a Republican candidate for the House or Senate posing for a PR photo with our president since August, 2007?

In the waning days of the election season, as both parties campaign fervently for their candidates, one man has been notably absent — President George W. Bush.

Reporters began asking questions immediately after the White House schedule last week noted Bush had no public events Friday through Monday, and would spend most of his time at Camp David.

“The president is pretty focused on the activities that we have here, especially getting this economy back in order,” White House Press Secretary Dana Perino said Wednesday.

We canceled a lot of our fundraisers, and he’s going to focus on being with Mrs. Bush and others this weekend at Camp David.”

But Perino couldn’t list any fundraisers that had been canceled recently.

Friday, Deputy Press Secretary Tony Fratto offered a more detailed explanation.

“The truth is we’re also trying to stay out of the public limelight during this period of the election season,” said Fratto. “There are two individuals out there running to be president of the United States, and we don’t want to complicate that for them.”

When I saw this being discussed on a news show, this morning, they couldn’t find a photo op of any House or Senate candidate with George W. Bush since late August, 2007.

CNN has just reported that Obama’s grandmother just died. I don’t mean to be insensitive – but if she used an advanced ballot to vote for Obama – does her vote still get counted?

Do you have be alive on election day for your vote to count?

#31 Do you have be alive on election day for your vote to count?

I have seen this discussion before during a prior election but I am not sure the question was ever resolved.

What about people that vote early? If they walk out of the voting booth and drop dead the vote will still count.

Our senator, Gordon Smith, here in Oregon is running ads with him posing with Barak Obama!

He is one of those guys who votes lock-step party line except in election years when he suddenly becomes “bi-partisan.”

It’s amazing how many people fall for that.

  4. syrinx says:

Did the Deputy Press Secretary actually made a statement starting with “The truth is…”? I guess it’s honest but isn’t that sort of a no-no because you admit lying earlier?

Haw haw! Paddy O’Furnitures is sawing pieces off of his picnic table/ sex toy in frustration.

Again we must say sadly, “he’s tiny, he doesn’t understand”.

Bill Clinton went out a rock star.

Too bad for America if he really didn’t want Clinton campaigning with him (I was too busy watching the Repugs steal the election); it left us with eight years of continuous heartache, destruction, and lies.

Dumbya could have been forgiven for being stupid, but stupid AND evil? He’s a hybrid of Nixon and Reagan, with all the good parts of each cut out.

  6. Mister Mustard says:

All the Repugs will be crying in their Bud Lites tomorrow night, but cheer up!!

At least there’s a great new video you can rent at the local Family Values store.

Get out the “personal lube”, Mr. Sixpack.

    Smokin’ hotttttt! SSsssssttt!!!

Mménage-à-trois (or perhaps a-quatre?) With a combination of the Palinator, Hillary Clinton, Condoleezza Rice, Todd Palin and Bill O’Reilly.”

Get ’em while they’re HOT (heh. heh heh). They hit the shelves on new-releas Tuesday November fourth, you know they’ll be flying off the shelves like HOT (heh. heh heh) cakes!!

I’ve been calling it “O’Biden vs McPalin”. Cause as usual, it’s the VP choice getting the most press. And more likely the VP that will totally screw things up, as Cheney did. But walk away with so little blame.

BTW, recently I found Camp David on an old air navigation chart. It wasn’t labeled by name, just “Prohibited Area P-40”. Tucked away, on top the Allegheny mountain range, near the Maryland line, east of Hagerstown. You can GoogleMap it, with a satellite view. And there’s a detailed Wikipedia page about it. But it doesn’t look much like a place for getting serious work done. More like some resort spa, hideout, from the public and press. When are they going to stop conning us that this place is anything else but a place to escape the eyes of the world, and to kick back and soak in the suds? A Club-Prez retreat.

  9. The Monster's Lawyer says:

#35 Mr Mustard – Nixon had a good part? Must have been the part that told him to resign.

    #36 – Abogado

    >>Nixon had a good part?

He was relatively smart, for a president. Evil, but (relatively) smart.
