Some of us don’t live in the US you insensitive clod!
THANKS Uncle Dave! Sharing the Weird Al with my son right now…
I stopped watching MTV back when I turned 25. All they air now is childish reality shows.
3,
When did you turn 25? Last week?
If you said, I stopped watching MTV X years ago it would make more sense…
/pedant mode off!
#4 – Named
Well, I stopped watching MTV when they first came out with a reality show (The Real World), maybe 1991 or so.
It was entertaining when it was a radio with moving pictures (I used to turn it on when I got home from work in the early eighties, and used it like a radio), but when they started that unending cycle of shows dealing with pathetic dysfunctional people, they became irrelevant.
Who wants to watch that shit? There are enough pathetic dysfunctional people in real life. Who on earth would sit in front of a TV to watch crappily-produced shows about them?
5,
Pedro, there are two things I noticed about you. A), you’re a psychopath. B) you really need help.
If anyone is a whinger and complainer, it’s you.
Do the world a favour. Disconnect from the interwebitube. That way you can only bother your neighbours…
5.
Oh, and if you knew about cultural memes, you’d know that “you insensitive clod” is a common term used online. Google the phrase and you’ll see it everywhere, and mostly in jest.
But, as you’re clearly insane, facts or meanings are pointless.
Awesome. I loved MTV is a kid and still do. MTV will be a force to recon with in on-line video.
Wow, that girl on the first video is absolutely beautiful.
Let us know when MTV upgrades the video quality. Right now it looks no better than watching the same videos on YouTube. Granted this is legal content now but the quality is subpar.
“Remember When MTV Played Music Videos?”
I remember when it 1st came on air & wondering why anyone would watch TV with its inferior sound rather than use a good stereo to listen to the same music.
So, I’ve never watched it.
#1: What possible difference does it make that you don’t live in the US? What are you talking about? A little context, please.
#11: You obviously never hooked your cable box to your stereo.
#13 – Unk
>>#11: You obviously never hooked your cable
>>box to your stereo.
Don’t pick on Paddy O’Dum-Dum. He doesn’t know much about technology. I hooked my cable box to my stereo back in 1982. Twenty-six years later, O’Dum-Dum still doesn’t know this “secret” trick.
Still, when MTV went from music videos to shows about pathetically dysfunctional people, I stopped watching. If I want to watch shit about people like that, I just go out under the interstate bridge with a pocket full of change.
#13 Uncle Dave, “You obviously never hooked your cable box to your stereo.”
You obviously don’t remember what input options stereos had when MTV 1st aired…
COPYRIGHT RESTRICTS US FROM PLAYING THIS VIDEO OUTSIDE THE U.S.
– I don’t think copyright prevents it, I think its stupid international licensing agreements.
#15 PaddyHo – I vaguely remember that MTV was simulcast on the FM radio thing-a-ma-jig. Wasn’t as good as the cassette stereo hi-fi player sound but better than the ol’ black and white RCA’s speaker.
Still, 24 hour music videos on tv with no commercials was pretty cool. Wish you could of been there.
talking about the videos selected here for a moment, i still wonder.. how much did fatboy slim pay for christoher walken to do all that in the video?
george michael, oh well what can you say? at least he didn’t post up “wake me up before you go go”. and wierd al, those were funny songs. now he just does stupid promo clips on vh1. too bad for him.
#17 “Still, 24 hour music videos on tv with no commercials was pretty cool.”
I had more music on tap for my stereo with better sound. I guess I didn’t see the point of less music with poorer sound quality…
20,
Give it a rest. You’re ranting and totally pointless. Did you’re wife leave you this morning, or this decade, for the Iranian guy?

BTW, I don’t live in the US or one of its territories. That’s what, three places in the world? There are at least 193 more, as you probably don’t know.
#7
I like your new word “whinger” – I’m going to start using it. It’s cool
#22
The other 193 don’t count, you whinger. Whing that up your whingdangdoodle. Noodle.
#22 named, So, what country do you hail from?
24,
Canada. Or as Pat Buchanan likes to call it, Soviet Cannuckistan.
Of course, with the US treasury handing out taxpayer billions like it was a capitalist fire sale, I guess the Soviet moniker will start migrating south of the 49th!
23,
Don’t people from Montana hate America for having a federal government? That’s why you and 7 other people (all your family I imagine?) occupy the state? Though your comment was funny, I did have to reply…
#25 Named, “Of course, with the US treasury handing out taxpayer billions like it was a capitalist fire sale, I guess the Soviet moniker will start migrating south of the 49th!”
No kidding! The Communist slide has just begun. Stay tuned. LOL
Only a twit would think MTV was “really cool.” Fools.
how many of you out there remember debating who was the no. 1 video for the day, def leppard or guns and f’n roses??? hehehe… i miss the old mtv when they played all kinds of music, not just reality shows all day long
On MTV Europe, they show episodes of Dirty Sanchez. I’m betting they don’t show that in the USA, and you Ameros don’t know what Dirty Sanchez is. Imagine Jackass + Substances – Clothes + Bodily Fluids – Humour. Doubleplus ungood: one more reason not to watch MTV any more. #
27,
Network flubs are odd. Sometimes you get a timeout, and causes a “Resend” to trigger, which brings back an incomplete post. When I modify the document and resubmit, both posts appear. It happens. Network access is pretty buggy today.
And yes, I live in Canada. Wonderful country.
Remember, I made a jest “you insensitive clod” and you suggested suicide. And, as is very obvious, you’re a psychopath with no memory. Good luck to you. I guess the election has really got you down… Or maybe the guy that’s having your wife.
Hoping after the election everyone here returns to more mature posting. Lately it’s going the way of Digg.
#25
Whing back at’cha. Whing you very much. There’s actually 700 of us now – you have to include all the Canadians who moved down here to get some health care without standing in line for months.
33,
Yeah… waiting in line. good one! I guess it’s not as good as just plain old dying or going bankrupt over an ingrown toenail… You guys are so lucky! At least the Canadians bring down a different gene pool to help out with the incest… I guess you could say you owe them.
It’s obvious that #34 pedro is the product of your American education system AND it’s healthcare… a total waste.
