Biden predicts international crisis if elected – McCain reacts | csmonitor.com — This crazy gaffe was apparently buried by the media until all the right-wing talk shows began to hound them about it. Now it seems as if Biden will be off the tour until further notice.
“Mark my words: It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy,” Biden told the crowd. “The world is looking. We’re about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Watch, we’re going to have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.”
“He’s going to have to make some really tough – I don’t know what the decision’s going to be, but I promise you it will occur. As a student of history and having served with seven presidents, I guarantee you it’s going to happen,” he said…
“What is more troubling is that Senator Biden told their campaign donors that when that crisis hits, they would have to stand with them because it wouldn’t be apparent that Senator Obama would have the right response,” McCain [said].
Why is the media quoting McCain quoting Biden when they heard it themselves?

“Did John not send you flowers?”
You lost me on that one bobbo.
Watching Biden stick his foot in his mouth every time he speaks in public makes Palin look like a seasoned pro.
At least now we have positive confirmation on who has the best VP.
#5, that’s how Biden meant it. That they’ll be a test because of OBama’s inexperience.
J==just my lame attempt at humor in that the context was close enough or hardly relevant enough to justify the claim of “out of context.”
So, if the issue is not factual/contextual then the outburst must be emotional, and who doesn’t get emotional when flowers aren’t sent on those very special occasions.
I guess it failed from want of context?
[Keep your day job, Bobbo. – ed.]

Your a fool if you don’t think the same thing will happen to John McCain. He is old and angry and they will be looking to see if they can egg him on or if he is too old to make a competent decision. Perhaps drawing us into another unnessercary war.
Flowers are sent on both happy and sad occasions. Birthdays and funerals. I think a bouquet of black orchids can now be sent to contempt for his political objectivity or his estimate that anyone on this blog thinks Saracuda Hate Monger is a positive political anything.
Flowers to all?

It is COMPLETELY out of context. It is made to look like Joe Biden thinks that if they get elected that there will be a crisis that would not occur if John McCain were elected. THAT IS NOT WHAT HE SAID. When read in context it means a very different thing!!!
Well, just from the quote in the CSM==you are WAY OVER READING IT. He did say it happened to Kennedy. He did say “As a student of history and having served with seven presidents, I guarantee you it’s going to happen.”
Those two statements make it clear he’s not talking about this being a special case about Obama. I don’t think it is wise to talk about opponents at all==keep the light away from them especially when you are trying to boost your own candidate.
No, simply a mangled attemtpt to boost Obama as being currently skilled and having a backbone of steele. Maybe an xray showing a peice of re-bar would have been better than raising a stupid hypothectical or prediction that touched on “executive experience.”
Live and learn.
#18 – Yet another example of the hypocrisy of the Obamatards. The Obamessiah can speak of 57 states and the like and ‘everybody knows what he means.’ Palin speaks of the VP and their position as President of the Senate, in a pretty childish way (she was answering a child’s question), and she’s ridiculed for it.
I can see it now, Obama wins the election and addresses the Family, ‘show them the marks, the pretty marks.’ Then he sends out the Obamatards to storm Neville’s compound.
Just make sure you get home before dark …

If I am WAY OVER READING IT why do the right wingnuts think that is what is being said? That is how they are trying to sell it! If they tried to sell it for what it is, a very observant view of history, it wouldn’t be stiring up so much talk.
#40–Now J==step back, grab a cup of your favorite beverage and reconsider.
If the wingnuts are trying to make an issue out of some statement, is that framing of the statement most likely accurate or not?
I think you let JCD’s inflammatory Headline lead you astray==a favorite activity at this blog.
If the statement was not at best ambiguous you would quote the language that clearly says the point you think is being made.
My last post on this issue because arguing about predictions really is a time waster.

Yes the statement as quoted is a bit ambiguous. That is why taking it out of context is unfair. If the context of the whole speech or at least the section just before and after were given or explained this would be a non issue because history shows what he said to be true.
I wonder why Biden became unhappy when he realized there was a reporter in the back of the room? Damn media.
They don’t call him Slow Joe for nothing.
Has everyone forgotten about the American spy plane incident of April 2001? That was worthy of war with China and no one talks about it. Why is that not brought up?
Apologies for the out of context comment – but:
I agree with almost every word you say in your article for PC Mag on the phone fetishism which plagues us, “Cell Phone Mania Must Stop Now!” – http://is.gd/4vxP , except the following:
“Why create phony initiatives just to throw in an investor-friendly term?” – was your comment .
Well, that’s precisely the reason – investors who must be satisfied at the expense of all of our common sense.
Also: “Only in America.” Not true. In the UK, Europe, Asia also. Phone/PDA/laptop mania is pretty much universal by now.
Keep them coming – thanks.
If Biden’s off the tour, that was an impressive imposter in Colorado, today.
Who ever gets elected is going to get tested. They will also be mocked and made fun off and mostly likely hanged and burned in effigy.
That’s just in the U.S. of A. on late night tv. Other people are going to be even nastier.
The afternoon news gets to be more fun:
McCain’s handlers are now giving up on Colorado, Iowa and New Mexico.
The McCain strategy at this point is to win Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, Ohio, Missouri, Nevada, and — Pennsylvania?
Anyone see a poll out there with Obama having less than a double-figure lead in Pennsylvania?
One reason Biden might have made the comment is because the majority of Presidents in the last 45 or 50 years HAVE had some sort of crisis to handle early in their first terms.
WTF INDEED!
We are sooooo hozed!
You better believe this is true – Putin will be all over Obama like stink on shit if he gets elected.
In other news… McCain Solicits Russian U.N. Ambassador. Sounds pretty desperate…
#54 That’s funny! No way Russia is going to help keep Obama out of the White House.

I’m confused – is Dvorak a right-winger or a left-winger? Help!
He’s just an idiot.
Biden seems like a real self-destructive personality type to me…10, 9, 8, 7…gonna be funny when we see him pop…speaking of countdown…betcha it’ll be kinda like an Olbermann meltdown…you just wait and see.
I’m expecting something before the elections, let alone after he gets elected. Only a little over a week left for the October “surprise”.
And because I served my country in a prison camp in Viet Nam I know I’ll do the right thing if tested. I’ll follow the party line 90% of the time and wave my flag whenever I need someone else’s support.
Thank You
First they could not see the financial mess coming even though there were all kinds of subprime ads begging those with poor credit to come buy / finance luxury houses
Now at last they see a crisis coming
Sad part is its those primitive Iranians who are playing this dangerous game of chicken / chess
The only problem is that Obama did nothing in his two terms of office in the senate but he did hang around with dangerous people ( who he never heard or wanted to hear or reckon with)
Sound familiar – see a pattern
Wake up America – then again Mc Cain is little different
Its like two drugstores in a small town
