Never mind…

Palin mistakes fans for protesters at Va. rally — Cripes, can’t these candidates tell good from bad? And why would she assume the worst?

Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin mistook some of her own fans for hecklers Monday at a rally that drew thousands.

A massive crowd of at least 20,000 spread across the parking lot of Richmond International Raceway, and scores of people on the outer periphery more than 100 yards from the stage could not hear.

“Louder! Louder!” they began chanting, and the cry spread across the crowd to Palin’s left. Some pointed skyward, urging that the volume be increased.

Palin stopped her remarks briefly and looked toward the commotion. “I hope those protesters have the courage and honor to give veterans thanks for their right to protest,” she said.

Some in the crowd tried to shout toward her what was really being said, but she couldn’t hear them.

If you see the video of the event, her husband leans in and tells her what they were yelling. It’s actually kinda funny.

  2. Dave W says:

Ah, John C…..that picture is Gilda Radner as Rosanna Rosanna Danna. For the “Never Mind” you want her as Emily Latella.

As for Sarah Palin….what did you expect from the first Vice Presidential candidate sponsored by Revlon?

  3. McCullough says:

McCain supporters really need to think hard before putting this woman this close to the Presidency. With a straight face, do you really believe she can handle the responsibility? I cant understand why McCain would put us in this position. It’s beyond strange, and it’s starting to scare me.

  4. The Monster's Lawyer says:

Emily Latella: “What’s all this fuss I hear about sex and violins on TV?”

  5. brendal says:

    You have to ask?? LOL!

  6. JimD says:

What do you expect from Palin ??? ALL she can do is READ THE SCRIPT HER HANDLERS GIVE HER !!! And, no one, apparently though the PA wouldn’t be loud enough, so it wasn’t SCRIPTED !!! And they want to “Lead the Free World” ??? They might TRY TO QUALIFY FOR THE “NOT READY FOR PRIME TIME PLAYERS”, BUT WOULD FAIL FOR NOT BEING FUNNY ENOUGH !!!

  7. grog says:

actually, the g.o.p. thinks that talking stupidly is a positive attribute. it’s folksy. yuk yuk.

    the dumber, the better.

    they’re like pol pot.

  8. Improbus says:

    @Grog

Do you mean pol(itician)s on pot?

  9. Carcarius says:

She speeches and debates as if she is competing in a beauty pageant. She scripts her lines and rarely talks candidly. What she said to her supporters by mistake should also be laughed at.

Right to free speech and assembly are guaranteed in the Constitution. Our troops protect it only as far as protecting us from being overrun by an invader taking over the country. I think the chances of that happening anytime soon are rather slim.

She denigrates protests by considering them unpatriotic, yet it’s one of the most patriotic things one can do for their country.

  10. Mister Ketchup says:

I liked her rendition of “youths in Asia.”

  11. John Paradox says:

    It’s always something…..

    J/P=?

  12. JimD says:

It’s ALL OVER FOR MCCAIN/PALIN !!! Even the CONSERVATIVES ARE ABANDONING SHIP:

S.S. “STRAIGHT TALK” SLIPS BENEATH THE WAVES !!!

  13. Brian says:

What do you expect, she was forced to try to think for herself and her brain overheated.

She’s an idiot, people. The sooner you supporters of hers realize that the better off you’ll be. She doesn’t understand, she’s just dumb.

#3 “McCain supporters really need to think hard before putting this woman this close to the Presidency”

awww come on now… there was nixon, reagan, bush and bush jr… she is the perfect replacement in republican eyes!!!!

    those eyes have cataracts though………….

  15. #14 – Admiral

    >>awww come on now… there was nixon, reagan, bush and
    >>bush jr… she is the perfect replacement in
    >>republican eyes!!!!

Weeeeeeeeeeee, I dunno about that, Sir. She’s certainly the perfect replacement for Junior. Nixon and Bush Sr. would vaporize her with their intelligence. Even ol’ Bonzo was smarter than he let on. Unless you’re talking about him in the throes of Alzheimer’s disease. She could probably replace him in that condition.

Besides, the Repubs should just admit it. NOBODY believes she’s got the brains or experience for the job. She’s on the ticket purely for the T&A/ titillation factor. If she looked like Barney Frank, no one would ever have heard of her.

  16. Cap'nKangaro says:

My understanding is that she was selected with the hope that she would bring in two groups: the conservative evangilicals and women who had supported Hillary. She energized the conservative evangilicals but has been a yawner with women who supported Hillary.

Why would a smart political operative believe a “Hillary for Prez” voter would look at Sarah Palin as the VP canidate and throw support to McCain.

And the kicker is she just scares the crap out of us moderate Republicans (yes, we do exist).

  17. geofgibson says:

“… smart political operative …” = oxymoron, kind of like “military intelligence”

  18. Mr. Fusion says:

    #16, Cap’n

It must be really embarrassing to have her on the ticket. Around this part of Indiana the Republicans are all demoralized and hardly working for their side. Only the local candidates have anyone putting up their signs. Two years ago our Democrat Congressman barely won a squeaker, now he is looking for a landslide.

  19. Greg Allen says:

I’ve always believed that the OWNERS of pit bulls are responsible to control them — even pit bulls with lip stick.

  20. Come on, now. This whole Palin thing is starting to get mean-spirited.

She is such an embarrassment to the Republican party, it’s almost like continuing to laugh at Britney Spears as she caroms from drunken driving arrest to rehab to having her kids taken away to shaving her head.

She’s cute (as long as you’ve got a copy of Photoshop); if she had a brain in her head or knew anything about anything she might have had a shot.

Good try, Johnnie boy, but no cigar. Not even a stinky smoked-down cigarette butt.

    See you guys in 2016.
