Just shows that machine guns are worthless for shooting an individual, despite what the movies would have us believe.
They’re ready for a tour in Iraq.
These border patrol trainees need more training.
Notice that these guys apparently never actually hit the plane? I guarantee that if one of those 50 cal. hit it would have disappeared. It sure looked that it was simply running out of gas (not a single hole seen) and the operator grounded it.
If these guys were trying to shoot me down, I’d feel pretty safe.
More like NO KILL, these guys can’t shoot. I don’t think the model was EVER hit, the operator ran it into the ground.
And that just goes to sow what you get from people that shoot on weekends only.
This should be a film to show congress that we need a standing army of professionals not a half-assed one of reserves.
Cursor_
I was just hoping to see the part where the airplane flies directly between the machine gunners.. at a very low level.
“Me make big noise with gun! Me not hit anything, but it take big skill to hold down trigger with finger.”
Anyone notice that they wouldn’t have hit the plane even if it was flying in a straight line? They were loading so badly that the tracers were passing 30 feet behind!
the trouble is that these maniacs seem to be having great fun
Oh well i guess that it is no worse than a video game
Okaaay… they are using bullets for AA, instead of flak and shrapnel, or even shotgun pellets. About as productive as fishing with a bow and arrow. This is why you don’t hunt fowl with a rifle (well that, and if you succeed, your bird is worthless).
Old technology. Now, the military fires depleted uranium in a guided, decreasing diameter cone of projectiles, until the missile is downed. Of course, this works best when a missile is headed straight at you. This is an expensive hobby for these guys, and they get to fire some nice weaponry, but I didn’t see any tracers, and the target was too damn tiny.
Reminds me of the old Star Wars gag, with 100 stormtroopers being unable to hit one person.
Next step, guided missles with X band radar and or, lasers and AWACS!!!
Where is Tony Stark when you need him?
Screw apple pie, that is what America is really all about.
#4 “I guarantee that if one of those 50 cal. hit it would have disappeared. ”
The largest shown was a .30 cal Browning.
None of these guys could lead a target to save his life. You can tell that none were hunters.
This is why surplus 7.62 x 51 ammo is $.50/round and .50 BMG is $4. Damn machinegunners along with Iraq-war “contractors” have decimated the foreign stocks of surplus ammunition. The US Government won’t allow its surplus on the civilian market.
8mm Mauser ammo used to be less than 10 cents a round. Now its about 30 cents a round at best. It’s being burned up fast.
The result is that poor guys like me that shoot bolt actions and like to aim at their targets can’t afford to shoot recreationally.
15,
Iv said before, LET them have guns, SELL them around the world..Just dont give them any AMMO.
===========================
Yep, looked like it ran out of gas, WAITING to be hit.
I would like to have all the money SPENT, in that shoot, that was used for ammo..
At least give me the casings…Brass is worth good money.
They stink!!! LOL!!
Where do all these republicans find all these cool guns?
What no rocket launchers. 🙂
How many dollars worth of ammo were expended before the target plane bit the dust?
They would have hit it if they were shooting at a parked, scrap car.
This is lame though. Big White Game Hunters couldn’t hit the plane. Not for lack of effort though.
Yes, I did see tracer fire around the 2:30 mark for a few seconds.
These guys can go yah! all they want. They stink.
The plane was about the same visual size as a real war plane would have been when within their attack envelope.
If this had been a real armed plane attacking them these guys would have been dead. In fact if an wharthog had been coming at them…Red ooze all over the place.
Shoulder fired missiles are vastly more effective.
Looks like the area where Steve Fossett’s plane went down. When was this video taken?
I pray to god that rural montana is never invaded by a large formation of 1/6th R/C aircraft.
Typical rednecks…blowin stuff up, waste of ammo, pumping hundreds of dollars into the ground, meanwhile contaminating it with lead.
These redneck hicks just give more evidence as to why these types of weapons don’t belong in the hands of private citizens.
FAIL!
#25
Hundreds of dollars??
WRONG..
$1,000’s of dollars…EASY, figure at LEAST $1 per round. Or they were HAND loaded..
It’s almost guaranteed that these guys handloaded and traveled to this event (most are probably NOT locals). Spending a few thousand dollars once or twice a year to do this with their friends is no different than a lot of other people who constantly cycle through laptops or cell phones or any other number of toys or buy expensive wines or collect beenie babies or simply take two or three vacations per year or whatever. Just because they shoot doesn’t mean they’re wasting money. It’s their money, not yours — they’re not maniacs, they’re enthusiasts who frankly have a nice safe firing line there.
I save up for a once-per-year shoot at an AR event somewhere near me (noneya business where). I go through about $1200-$1500 of ammo in about 4 hours. My money…..not yours!! I’d be willing to bet that most of you on here would be more than happy to shoot other people’s ammo, given the chance at an event like this. If you’ve never been to a range, and formed a hands-on opinion, you’ve no right to piss on these guys’ shoes.

Amen brother. I’d give my left nut to get a crack at an event like this. I get one chance a year to blow off a bunch of ammo with my AR and I wouldn’t miss it for the world. I’m lucky enough to have an uncle that lives up in northern Wisconsin where I go grouse hunting. He’s on about 40 acres and has a beautiful natural hollow in his back yard that is awesome for shooting. Most commercial ranges don’t allow rapid fire. Do you know how hard it is to only pull the trigger once or twice when you’ve got a 30 round clip in?
#25 Brian — agree, but it’s better than “Pro-Lifers” like Gov. ImPalin’ getting their jollies shooting animals.
