What goes around comes around. The porn, personal attacks about her intelligence and fitness, debate flowcharts, etc. are simply outrageous. Handling and deflecting the ‘piling on’ is ample evidence that she’s got the required thick skin . The sad thing is that no matter who wins this fall, the partisan behavior won’t end. I’m tired already.

I recommend listening to Thursday night’s No Agenda. Aside from Adam’s occasional “true owners of the earth” paranoia, it was spot on. Watch the polls turn and watch the only one that matters on November 4th.

My only quibble would be that the show was not a debate. This along with the media driven drivel that “she exceeded expectations” is all objective evidence of the dumbing down of America.
Actually, it all kinda reminds me of the thread on the Pope. Politicians are just the same. Neither group is running on “values” other than their values and they want to sell the masses which results in their own particular group succeeding.
Moral people live quiet isolated lives.
#1 The attacks on her intelligence were outrageous? Did you not see the Couric interview? I mean come on. Since when has conservatism come to mean the embracing of stupidity? I consider myself a true conservative, not like the ignorant religious-right nutjobs who have hijacked my party and I’m tired of imbecility being embraced as a merit. As an American I would hope that intelligence is the most basic quality my president possesses regardless of party affiliation. The problem with the right-wing lately is they have somehow turned intelligence into something exclusive to the “elites”. WTF? Really? Only the stupid embrace stupidity as a virtue.

#5 This is true. Your post made me think about the difference between the East and West, whether we are talking about culture or religion. You would never see a Buddhist running for President. It’s kind of against their religion.
Imagine if all of our world leaders practiced an eastern religion? This would be a drastically different world that we live in. How could that work?

the irrational hate mongering from the left anymore has really got really boring… palin has right of center conservative views but she ran as a reformer and budget conservative and that’s what she stuck to…that’s it and that’s all. there is no evidence that she once tried to force her world view on alaskans and that is probably why she was popular there… but to hear the left tell it she well may have been behind 9/11. as to the pop quiz style of interviews where she has been tripped up in.. why should she be expected to be a “world expert” on everything under the sun… look at the jackasses from both parties running this country they have literally destroy the country. if you think she doesn’t belong because of experience then who should governor… only career politicians and the rich who can buy their way in?? again look where that has gotten us… the old 60’s pot paranoia cynicism that is well represented on this board is really tiresome… if liberals really wanted change they would really do the right thing… get out their checkbooks and send a check to ralph nader and vote for him… anything else is a joke they like retelling about “real change”.

Trick question: what newspapers do you read. OF COURSE she reads newspapers, every politician does. OF COURSE she knows a few supreme court cases like those recently from Alaska. I will Pile On Palin because she represents an issue in my party: that stupid hot chicks are better at turning the heads of the electorate than someone who would have solutions to issues.
McCain would have been the perfect president in 2000. The country was done a great disservice by having the GOP foist Bush on us. McCain doesn’t appear to be able to stand up to the pressures that my party places on him any longer. So to distract those of us that liked the old McCain (for his apparent willingness to fight for what was right) the entire country is presented with a seductress that has no ability, but is fun to look at.
Know this about her, she likes the attention, and wants more. She didn’t enter politics by accident, but she obviously hasn’t made politics her vocation.

According to South Park (tv show) there is a reason “hot” people are stupid: Once they know they are hot, they exploit those around them to get what they want. Hot people don’t have to work hard, or think, or do anything but flirt and have sex. That is why they are so useless.
I hate Hillary because I think she is too power hungry (she wants to save face after her failure with Health Care Reform, and to further distance herself from Bill); however, I respect and fear her intelligence. She is smart because she is not attractive, and any positive feedback she received throughout her life was due to her work, not her appearance.

Sarah Palin is fun to make fun of because she comes across as a normal person.
#14, there are these silly little things called “facts” that can be helpful in writing good policy. For example, if Sarah wants to explain her policy on the middle east, it might help if she based it on at least a crude understanding of what Hamas, what the Bush Doctrine is, and how much power the president of Iran really has.
Sarah doesn’t, and a lot of people who still like facts (left, right, and center) are calling her out on it. This makes us “Elitists.”
Bush made Clinton look honest. Palin makes Bush look smart.
I don’t think Gov. Palin comes across as a “normal person,” I think she comes across as a ditz, and I wonder why. No one who is both that stupid _and_ that ignorant (they are different things) could possibly win election as governor. (Mayor of a small suburb, maybe.) Why is she hiding her light under a bushel? I think it’s because she’s about a mile farther to the right than 98% of Americans would be comfortable with, and if she really lets loose she’ll spook the electorate, and both she and her advisors know it.
