Zardari’s greeting to the Alaskan governor at their meeting at the UN headquarters in New York – described as “overly-friendly” by the Christian Science Monitor – has earned him a fatwa from some of Pakistan’s radical Muslims.
Benazir Bhutto’s widower tells Alaska’s first woman that she is “even more gorgeous in life” and says he can see why “America is crazy about you”. But what really got radical clerics backs up was his comment that he might hug the Moose-hunting governor if his aide insists hard enough.
For Palin, the incident appears to have confirmed jokes that her meet-and-greet sessions with world leaders at the UN were “speed dating” diplomacy.
But Zardari faces much harsher condemnation for his conduct. His remarks managed to unite both hardline Islamic leaders and Pakistani feminists in condemnation.
One radical Muslim prayer leader said the president shamed the nation with his “indecent gestures, filthy remarks, and repeated praise of a non-Muslim lady wearing a short skirt.” Meanwhile, Tahira Abdullah, a member of Pakistan’s Women’s Action Forum, criticised the president for failing to show decorum and behave like a “mourning widower”.
Har! You can’t make this stuff up.

It was the sin of “repeated praise for a non-muslim” that did him in. Fabulous culture they have there.

Its got nothing to do with “culture”. Its got something to do with politics. Whenever a new government begins its first journey to any foreign country, they are very closely monitored by all types of politicians in Pakistan. Once they spot anything they can cash on, they will go for it. So now this Palin issue seems like a good way to point some extra point.

India is no better. Remember last year when they got all bent out of shape because Richard Gere kissed one of their movie stars on the cheek? They were practically rioting over it.

But you must admit, you cannot blame him. He is used to dealing with a bunch a gray haired old white guys or crusty old hags in politics. Palin’s youth and refreshing candor would throw even the most seasoned professional off their game….
Agreed, that radicals are radicals now matter what country they are from. However, their culture gives a broader voice to clerics that ours. Dr. Pat can say all kinds of stupid things and our press just ignores him (unless it plays well).

I used to be corporate officer for a company owned by billionaire HK exec…he told me that Korea was having a problem with people throwing stones at the police. So they hired an all female police force.

As individuals the two groups are the same. Course when our idiots speak their tripe they are mocked and ridiculed and about 50% of the time they apologize for being idiots while not gaining any insights at all, they just clear the boards for their next idiot statement and request for cash donations.
In Pakistan, everyone stays silent not wanting to be killed in the street.

2nd) Go to Karachi and do the same (switch Allah for God).
3rd) Report back to us at the board if you noted any differences in the influence of religious nut jobs between Pakistan and the U.S.
