From ABC News – “Palin said that the media is “just not used to someone coming in from the outside saying, ‘You know what? It’s time that normal Joe Sixpack American is finally represented in the position of vice presidency,’ and I think that that’s kind of taken some people off guard, and they’re out of sorts, and they’re ticked off about it.” Listen Here.

  1. Glenn E. says:

She’s not a “Joe Sixpack”, but more like a “Jed Clampett”. Sitting on a large untapped oil and gas reserve, that she supports tapping into. Though it just happens to be in the ANWR area. I believe Palin was given the VP nomination as payback for support of drilling in her State. It’s all about the god damn oil, don’t ya know?! She’d been on big oil’s payroll (as well as her hubby) for some time. Word is the Palins were once part of some political movement to have Alaska succeed from the US. Probably to get ANWR off federal protection, and allow the drilling. But I’m speculating. In any case, she doesn’t sound like she has much concern over soiling our lands for big profits. The only reason the southern US is short of gas, is that the refineries shut down, in a typical “Enron” move to keep prices high. Then two hurricanes caused more refineries to be shut down. All this had to contribute to the home mortgage meltdown.

#11 “Two of the leaders are PhD’s, one holds a Masters of Economics (our current Prime Minister) and the outsider from Québec only holds a Bachelor’s but brings the labour type experience that has proven successful in the UK.”

Not impressive. Look at Congress & Cabinet. The Ivy leaguers formed and have screwed up the econ system of this country. The problem is complex because the criminal congress has for decades crafted a system that can be exploited by “friends” without it being immediately evident.

I’d rather have someone from a second tier university than yet another corrupt “old boys” networker from the Ivy(mold covered)League.

  3. The Monster's Lawyer says:

She’s giving the rest of us “Joe Six Packs” a bad name. Please Sara, leave us out of this!

Now someone come over here and pull my finger.

  4. Mr. Fusion says:

Hey ??? I thought several of these guys were your buddies? So now you claim to hob nob with criminals?

I’d rather have someone from a second tier university than yet another corrupt “old boys” networker from the Ivy(mold covered)League.

Annapolis and West Point are generally considered Ivy League level. Just one reason their football teams suck even though they play mostly other Ivy League schools.

    #33, TML,

Sure. Just turn a little so I don’t get splashed.

  6. Stephanie says:

I guarantee you that when “Joe Six-Pack’s” daughter gets raped and pregnant that he isn’t going to tell her that abortion will make the baby Jesus cry.

She’s more in tune with “Charleston Cold Dead Hands” and “Evilgelicals”.

  7. MikeN says:

Not surprising. The left is just upset, because they’ve been spreading this myth that the common voter agrees with them, and now the truth is revealed. Movie after movie with a guy off the street being a left-winger, Dave, Down to Earth, The American President, Welcome to Mooseport, etc.

I do not know of any one that would consider the academies as “Ivy League Level”. There is no question that they are quality academic schools however a large part of what makes them tough is the physical requirements put on students.

Clearly college football is not in your wheel house. Unlike Ivy League schools, the Academies can give athletic scholarships. Navy beat Notre Dame last year in South Bend and just beat a ranked Wake Forest team in North Carolina. Air Force is in the middle of the Mountain West conference. Only Army is playing like an Ivy League school but then so is North Texas and Idaho and no one clumps them in with Ivy League Schools. Lastly, none of the academies play an Ivy League school this year and probably have not scheduled one for some time.

Just as Vanderbilt and Berkeley are as academically tough as Ivy League schools but not considered “Ivy League Like”, neither are the academies.
