Cripes. Are we going to have to endure this sort of crap for the next 8-years if Obama wins? I’m not sure what the point of this is exactly, but it’s not a parody and as far as I know they already have the Berkeley vote.

I’ll be the first to admit that the first connection that came through my mind was that of the Hitler Jugen. Probably because I was watching Swing Kids over the weekend. Re=watching it, I still find myself profoundly disturbed by the whole thing but not to the earlier point. I like to think of myself as independent minded and this would not be the proper location to go into my concerns with all the candidates; but something about 22 children coming together in a grassroots style without the guiding assistance of an adult rings alarm bells for me.

  2. Mister Mustard says:

    Hoo boy.

Talk about a tempest in a teapot.

A bunch of kids make up a song about peace, love and understanding, and all of a sudden, Obama is the Antichrist?

At the very worst, this is the MTV-era equivalent of politicians kissing babies.

And “nice racist rant”, JCD?? WTF? I didn’t see any mention of race in either #2 or #3. On the other hand, Lyin’ Mike’s comment (“typical minority politician”) seems to define racism, but no comment about that one?

  3. Hey Mustard…CAN YOU READ?? WHERE EXACTLY DID I USE THE WORD RACIST?????????

Huh? Where? Tell me. Where did I say “Racist rant???” Well??

I used the word “bigoted.” and maybe you should look it up because apparently you think it means racist. OR you indeed cannot read.

  4. Mister Mustard says:

    #34 – Dvorak

    >>Hey Mustard…CAN YOU READ??

Apparently not. However, “bigoted” makes the same point. And my comment remains the same. Moose called McBush “senile” (and he’s not the only one); JimD talked about “fat-assed CEOs at the country club”.

This is bigoted? In comparison with Lyin’ Mike’s “typical minority politician” comment, or the stereotyping and abuse that is routinely heaped on Christians on this web site (notably by Eds.) (Mysteriously, some guy’s comment about Jews on Wall St. was deemed so offensive that it was deleted… hmmm)

As I said in my earlier comment, this kumbaya-fest seems about pretty benign. A little cheesey, but hey. Nobody’s forcing you to watch it.

  5. Ah_Yea says:

The video is down all right.

It makes me wonder if Obama called the author of this vid and said, “could you please stop showing this video. I want people to bow down and worship me AFTER I’m elected!”

I wonder, If Obama looses this election to McCain (Pontius Pilate), then when he tries again, would that be the “Second Coming”?

  6. contempt says:

The worse kinds of evil are always camouflaged or you wouldn’t be fooled.

This deceitful film presents one of those moments in life where you decide if freedom is worth defending or if you want to bow and serve politicians.

A vote for Obama is a vote for slavery. Ironic ain’t it.

  7. bahramks says:

Holy s**t, what is with you people? you need to get a grip. You’re hysterical. Seriously,
Let me cite a few things people have said on this thread:

“Hitler Youth… children worshiping politicians…Obama campaign is very North Korean …. Goon Squads for Obama arresting those who say bad things about him… Obama will arrive on a white horse carrying a sharp two-edged sword, and he will have a crown…
For a second I thought the kids were singing praises to Jim Jones… Yeah, he’s real chummy with the radicals who blow up buildings. And he held poker games with lobbyists. Typical minority politician…Church of Obama… A vote for Obama is a vote for slavery”

I repeat, holy shit! Seriously!? what IS with you people? So many closeted racists?

  8. Timen says:

    Hi Dvorak,

You know what I love about the bailout (which will happen eventually)? I’m European, I invested in the US at my own risk, and you’re going to pay for that mistake ;-).

    Take care,
    Timen

    >>to get a grip. You’re hysterical. Seriously,

    Yeah, no kidding.

John C. Dvorak posts a story critical of a bunch of kids singing, and the pigpile starts.

Next thing you now, we’re staring into the gaping maw of the Holocaust, Armageddon, racial warfare, and the end of civilization as we know it.

  10. bhavekost says:

When I first heard this, it reminded me of “Every Sperm Is Sacred” in the Monty Python movie, The Meaning of Life.

  11. ubiquitous talking head says:

In Hollywood they have a lot of restrictions about people using the same names.

I *believe* that’s only if you’re in the same union, i.e. no two SAG members can have the same name. It’s going to get interesting in another 50 years when all the good names are gone. Sort of like web sites today…

    “zzxxuumm432.com … kinda catchy.”

There have always been those who refuse to recognize danger before disaster strikes. You call others hysterical and even racists for not sharing your blindness when history proves what happens to those that fail to remain vigilant.

Malign and ridicule if you must, but allow those with vision to shine the light from the tower in an effort to warn people of the impending danger before it is too late.

Obama is dangerous. His puppetmasters are fatal. Proof is found in actions and are clearly visible for those who will see.

  13. #35 how does bigoted, which means intolerant of any opinion other than your own, equate to racism or “makes the same point?” Racism is not about “opinions” or “personal viewpoints.” It’s interesting to me to see hate-filled spew about McCains age or about simple conservativism. This all stemming from a light criticism of a crappy and sappy pro-Obama video. It’s classic bigotry. For some reason the Left-wingers think they are immune from it because they are superior.

  14. #43 – contempt

    >>There have always been those who refuse to
    >>recognize danger before disaster strikes.

Just as there have always been those who imagine danger, mayhem, and disaster around every corner, and with every change. Those who bleat like cowardly sheep at any deviation from the status quo.

I know it kills you to think that a black man will soon (111 days) be President, but relax. It will be good for you.

And if you’re nervous about the thought of Obama/ Biden, you should be shitting your pants at the notion of McBush/ Palin. Now THAT is scary!!

Biblical style? If you were a student of American history you might have attributed the reference of the light in the tower to Paul Revere.

The strikes against Obama are numerous so instead of listing them a better way is just to say a persons character can be judged with reasonable accuracy by the company he keeps.

  16. bahramks says:

    #44 contempt

I’m not American, nor i have studied American history, so I don’t know that reference, but warning the ignorant masses about the impending doom is close enough to Biblical for me.

Those were not strikes against McCain for their own sake, they were things that Obama could easily use against him if he was such an evil person as you imply. And it seems you can not come up with *any* real threat from Obama, right?
And just 4 posts ago, it was one’s actions, now its one “company”? seriously, do you know who works for McCain? and who are you refereeing to by that in Obama’s side? those guys who did wrong things when he was a just school kid? huh.

  17. #45

    >>35 how does bigoted, which means intolerant of
    >>any opinion other than your own, equate to
    >>racism or “makes the same point?”

I never said bigotry “equate[d] to racism”.

It makes the same point, because racism is a subset of bigotry. My dictionary defines bigotry as “One strongly loyal to one’s own social group, and irrationally intolerant or disdainful of others” or “an intolerant person: somebody who has very strong opinions, especially on matters of politics, religion, or ethnicity, and refuses to accept different views.”

And I didn’t criticize your “light criticism” (not much, anyway), I criticized calling post #2 and #3 “nice bigoted rants”. In this same thread, you’ve got Lynin’ Mike making racist comments (“typical minority candidate”, which is KKK code for “f&cking n|gger”, and elsewhere on this blog the bigotry (e.g., against Christians, although Jews seem to be immune) runs so thick you could cut it with a knife.

  18. brendal says:

Venice is Berkeley South…it’s a mess…betcha all the druggies were breaking into their homes while this was being produced. Hayden messed up that area good w/commie practices like rent control and basically, the police roll in at 6p every night to the boardwalk to keep the gang violence down. Just a microcosm of what US will be like if Obama is elected.

Example: I was standing in a line at the store there in Venice one day and some Boomer hair-brained liberal was having a discussion with an ex-convict about when he got out (yesterday), what was he in for (murder)and isn’t that great!!

Another example: Google in that area HAS to pay city tax of 10 percent of all their revenue…10 percent!!! Where does that money go? It’s filled with criminals and wealthy liberals.

Needless to say, Venice is an area I try to avoid…like a lot of other people in LA.

  19. contempt says:

    #46 Mister Mustard

You seem to be excessively obsessed with a persons race. I can only imagine that if he wasn’t black you might not be so quick to defend him.

The fact is that Obama is an exceedingly poor if not dangerous choice for president, who just happens to be black. No sense destroying the country in the effort to assuage your white guilt.

  20. #49 – Brenda Lee

    >>Venice is Berkeley South…it’s a mess…

So what does this video have to do with Venice? The school these kids go to (the Colburn School of Performing Arts) is in downtown LA, 15-20 miles away from Venice.

I guess it gave you the opportunity to slam the commie pinko liberal fags you seem to despise so much, but other than that, it’s irrelevant.

Try to keep it relevant, Brenda. I know you’re looking for any opportunity to express your BIGOTRY, but really.

    I’m just saying.

  21. #52 – ‘dro

    >>Still having reading comprehension
    >>problems, I see.

Not really. After I had scrolled down through the messages, I simply mixed up “bigotry” and “racism”, as they appeared in just about every message.

See message #38 from bahramks for notable examples.

  22. jbenson2 says:

You know that when Mustard’s posts hits double digits on one subject, he is losing his grasp on reality.

  23. #50 – contempt

    >>I can only imagine that if he wasn’t black you
    >>might not be so quick to defend him.

More likely, if he weren’t black, nobody would even be paying attention to this skit by kids in a performing arts school. The neocon wingnuts can’t find anything of substance to criticize him on, so they pick at nits like this. Talk about a non-story.

    >>The fact is that Obama is an exceedingly poor
    >>if not dangerous choice for president, who
    >>just happens to be black.

That’s the trouble with you neocons, you confuse your delusions with “facts”.

And say what you will about Obana/ Biden, it’s a hell of a lot better than McBush/ Palin. Talk about a nightmare ticket.

  24. Pmitchell says:

    Kim Il-sung would be proud.

  25. brendal says:

Mr. Mustard…watch the video again…opening sez it’s at a house in

    VENICE!!

    Idiot.

  26. WalkingSquirrel says:

that whole Obama=Antichrist thing seems not as silly now.

  27. I, for one, welcome our new Children of the Corn Overlords.

  28. John says:

The media refuses to say anything negative about Obama, in fact they trip over themselves to shower him with praise. If he’s elected we’re going to turn into North Korea which school children and the media praising the Great Leader regardless of what he does. Be very afraid folks!

  29. usa1 says:

Parent who get their kids to do this kind of crap for either party are the scariest part of all of this.

  30. brendal says:

Hey! I was in “Children of the Corn – II”…it didn’t end well!
