The activist group called “anonymous,” best known for its jousts with the Church of Scientology, has apparently hacked into the private Yahoo e-mail account of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the Republican candidate for vice president. Contents of that account, including two sample e-mails, an index of messages and Palin family photos, have been posted by the whistleblower site Wikileaks, which contends that they constitute evidence that Palin has improperly used her private e-mail to shield government business from public scrutiny, an issue that had already been raised by others.

#1 – Is Obama using private email to unethically skirt the public disclosure laws? If so, they SHOULD hack his email too. If his “Yahoo” type emails accounts are TOTALLY personal, just family ramblings, then it should be off limits.
I hope they do NOT post any truly personal emails from Palin. The point was the find her ‘state business’ emails she and her hacks were purposely trying to hide from public disclosure…say…isn’t Palin campaigning on open and transparent government?

The Secret Service won’t do shit unless it puts her in danger or they believe it might. The FBI on the other hand does have jurisdiction and can go after those that did it. This was bad form but so is using a private email to conduct government business. Is that really the kind of idiot you want as VP? Would she discuss government secrets over a yahoo account? The double standard of this group is disgusting. If this was a drug dealer or child molester there would be an outcry about the invasion of privacy. But since it is about a conservative, they seem to jump for gee and assume that dirt will be discovered. The only thing that was found was pictures of her children.

Posting what they have leaves things a lot less than clear. I can make up a list of titles and guess what? I don’t trust crackers very far.

Um as a candidate I’m not even sure how Palin is supposed to be covered under those government laws… I do seem to recall that the Watergate break in was not the smartest thing a Republican ever did and this could be more of the same for the Democrates.
