Tina Fey HAS to be rooting for Palin because she’ll get a lot of extra (and easy) work! She’s a dead ringer.

  1. Springheel Jack says:

It would not be a good thing for SNL and comedy in general if Obama is elected. The self-worshiping liberal Hollywood elite are constrained by the chains of political correctness—chains of their own forging, I might add—and will find it impossible to spoof or parody Saint Obama the Most Holy Messiah.

Also, I disagree with the premise that Tina Fey is a “dead ringer” for Palin. You can put lipstick on a pig and it still doesn’t look like Sarah Palin.

  2. Rakarich says:

@#1: So are you saying that SNL never had a field day for 8 years mocking Bill Clinton (played by Darrel Hammond)?

    C’mon, get over yourself. Sheesh.

  3. bobbo says:

#1–springheel==I admire the attempt, but you failed in every nuance. Better go after something that has even a whiff of ambiguity. Why not assert that McCain knows the economy next?

  4. Springheel Jack says:

    #2, Rak

When did political correctness start applying to white males? If I remember correctly, Bill Clinton was a white male was he not?

  5. Rakarich says:

    Springheel:

Your statement suggested that SNL will not be able to be funny if Obama is elected. You are now implying that you can’t make fun of black people like everyone else? It would seem that YOU are the PC nut.

  6. Springheel Jack says:

The late-night crowd has delivered some hilarious spoofs on McCain; however, their Obama material is tepid, cautious, and guiltily delivered.

Not surprising, as they worry about offending the leftist-liberal decision makers and holders of Hollywood power and who brook no dissent.

  7. Brian says:

    Why is this vid EVERYWHERE?

Search youtube, it occupies over half of the top spots, and here it is here, too.

    NBC hard at work.

  8. Dallas says:

She IS a dead ringer for Gomer Palin Pyle.

I like the skit alot but look forward to not seeing more of it.

  9. Rakarich says:

    Springheel:

I can prove your theory wrong with one name… Jesse Jackson.

Darrel Hammond (the same white actor who played Clinton) did a dead on impression of Jackson for a few seasons. Mocking the way he spoke as a Dr Seuss wanna be.

    SNL will mock EVERYONE.

  10. cablguy104 says:

Too bad Tim Meadows left SNL. He would have been a great Obama!

  11. lakelady says:

Tina Fey has nothing to worry about. I’m afraid that even when Palin loses we’ll still have plenty of her in the news. Too many have been doing this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0kGc6UEGVc (probably NSFW) for her to disappear.

  12. Paddy-O says:

I thought it was funny. The Hillary part was very good also.

  13. Improbus says:

That may have been the funniest thing SNL has done in YEARS. How was the rest of the show? The introductory skit was the only part I watched.

  14. J says:

    # 1 Springheel Jack

“Also, I disagree with the premise that Tina Fey is a “dead ringer” for Palin. You can put lipstick on a pig and it still doesn’t look like Sarah Palin.”

She IS a dead ringer and fuck you for calling her a pig. Jerk!

    hhopper

“Tina Fey HAS to be rooting for Palin because she’ll get a lot of extra (and easy) work!”

Trust me when I tell you Tina doesn’t need any extra work. She is quite busy already.

  15. The Monster's Lawyer says:

Hmmm, the right implies that Obama is so popular that he is compared to the Messiah yet say he is un-electable and his defeat is a forgone conclusion. This seems contradictory….that is unless they know how to rig this so the most popular candidate does not get elected. Naw, that can’t happen.

  16. Improbus says:

The thing that bothers me most about this election is not Obama or McCain but “the press”. It seems they are only in it for the ratings and money. It is a sad commentary on our press that the best political analysis comes from Jon Stewart, a comedian.

  17. bobbo says:

#17–JH==so specifically, do you deny that for 8 years SNL made no fun of Clinton? I think I have a few re-runs that would disagree with that.

Course, McCain has defended each one of his false ads saying they are all documented on his website.

Thats the thing with the big lie. It has to be repeated. So tell us again JH how libs are blah, blah, blah. For extra credit, tell us how such idea, even to the degree it may be true, is relevant to anything important?

  18. rabsten says:

SNL is soooo politically correct that it uses actors in blackface to portray Obama and Jesse Jackson. Because nothing says “We feel for the plight of the African American” quite like a minstrel show.

  19. Bill says:

Having Hillary on it spoiled the whole thing.

  20. Angel H. Wong says:

What SNL should do is a Rerun of the show where McCain hosted it.

  21. Angel H. Wong says:

Oh and another thing, here’s a nice non-sexist comment that you can use to smack Palin supporters: Every time see her I can’t shake the words “Harriet Miers” off my head.

  22. Brendal says:

I want to see Sarah on there w/Tina…that would be the ultimate!

  23. Stephanie says:

Kudos to #14. Couldn’t of said it better.
