Alaskans Speak (In A Frightened Whisper): Palin Is “Racist, Sexist, Vindictive, And Mean”
by Charley James – LA Progressive

“So Sambo beat the bitch!”

This is how Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin described Barack Obama’s win over Hillary Clinton to political colleagues in a restaurant a few days after Obama locked up the Democratic Party presidential nomination.

According to Lucille, the waitress serving her table at the time and who asked that her last name not be used, Gov. Palin was eating lunch with five or six people when the subject of the Democrat’s primary battle came up. The governor, seemingly not caring that people at nearby tables would likely hear her, uttered the slur and then laughed loudly as her meal mates joined in appreciatively.

Besides insulting Obama with a Step-N’-Fetch-It, “darkie musical” swipe, people who know her say she refers regularly to Alaska’s Aboriginal people as “Arctic Arabs” – how efficient, lumping two apparently undesirable groups into one ugly description – as well as the more colourful “mukluks” along with the totally unimaginative “f**king Eskimo’s,” according to a number of Alaskans and Wasillians interviewed for this article.

But being openly racist is only the tip of the Palin iceberg. According to Alaskans interviewed for this article, she is also vindictive and mean. We’re talking Rove mean and Nixon vindictive.

No wonder the vast sea of white, cheering faces at the Republican Convention went wild for Sarah: They adore the type, it’s in their genetic code. So much for McCain’s pledge of a “high road” campaign; Palin is incapable of being part of one.

Cripes! Read the whole article. Here’s a letter from a ‘friend’ of Palin. Snopes verifies this letter as true. Palin scares me.

    Hillary is WAY scarier…WAAAAY!!!

  2. Mr. Fusion says:

    #119, Lyin’ Mike,

We also had a blogger for The Atlantic saying that Todd Palin’s business partner filed to have his divorce proceedings sealed.

He did. Why is conjecture. It happened after the accusation of the affair came out.

  3. Mr. Fusion says:

    #125, Helzerman,

I think the Palin racist remarks are made-up. Just doesn’t ring true.

They could be, BUT, I think other wise. Nor do I think they are extreme as would appear at first glance.

Palin is the leader of the rival party. She isn’t expected to have any affections for any of them.

For the past few years the Republicans have been truly afraid and hateful of Hillary Clinton. Many Republicans call her a bitch and much worse. For example, #126, Cow-Paddy.

Obama, being part black, doesn’t fit into the Republican mold of a perfect American. Many, thinking he is beneath them will not hesitate to refer to him by any epithet they can think of. Obama has also been called far worse than that on this blog.

For all the complaining about Palin, this is low down the list in my opinion. I am more concerned by her actions so far than I am by her words. It appears we agree on that.

  4. Montanaguy says:

I actually think it’s possible to view Nobama as a white person, since he’s 50/50. Why is he always called black?

  5. Jägermeister says:

#129 – Montanaguy – Why is he always called black?

    He’s biracial.

  6. Thomas says:

Once again Confusion, you prove that you have your head firmly planted in your behind. I suppose Clarence Thomas, Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice aren’t part of that perfect American either?

  7. deowll says:

This is the time that rabid partisons on all side go out and use freedom of speach to show everybody that they are scum and the worst enemies of any cause they may support.

  8. Helzerman says:

Neither party holds a franchise on racism. Sadly, there are jerks on both sides of the isle.

  9. Joshua says:

I’am glad to see that Dvorak hasn’t changed a bit in the 3 months I was away.

Fusion still needs an increase in his meds. Gary is still believeing that Liberals are going to win and boobo is still provocative.

I feel like a new parent, since I was almost the ony one that believed McCain would get the nomination and Palin would be the V.P. choice. Hell, I even remember some of you who now think she is the devil incarnate saying good things about her back then when I brought her up.

Palin isn’t a racist. She is a conservative of the right wing persausion. Her husband is Eskimo/American.

All of the name calling and hysteria on the Left tells me that some Liberals aren’t as dumb as I used to think…..they obviously know that Palin was a true game changer, and are doing all they can to destroy her quickly.
I think she was the final nail in Obama’s coffin. The guy is behind or tied with McCain in all the national polls and his biggest swing state lead is Pennsylvania (5%). He is only winning California by 9%, and New York by 13%….unheard of for a Demoocrat this late in the election year.

    I predict a McCain/Palin win with 52%. They will carry, Missouri, M

  10. Joshua says:

oooops…new putor and I keep hitting the wrong buttons.

….Michigan, Ohio, Nevada, New Mexico and Florida of the swing states.

You know I’m right Fusion and Misanthropic…..lol

Hey Gary Allen, I couldn’t remember which Arab country you were in….I was in Rwanda for the last 10 weeks and took a couple side trips to Dubai and Kuwait. Interesting countries.

  11. clifffton says:

Am I the only one that thinks Sarah won’t make the election? The ghost of Tom Eagleton is watching this with a bemused smile.

    McGovern/Palin ’72!

  12. Joshua,

I hope like hell you are wrong about the outcome. Only Diebold time will tell.

About Palin being conservative, are you serious? Conservatives don’t want change. Fiscal conservatives are good at money management.

She is a reactionary who wants to go back to the dark ages, teach creation in school, roll back civil liberties, censor books, etc.

She is also fiscally insane rather than conservative, raising debt from $0 to $22,000,000 in a small town, equivalent to a credit card debt of over $2400 for each man, woman, and child of Wasilla.

She reduced property taxes, which mostly benefited corporations and created a sales tax that even included basic necessities like food, thus shifting the tax burden to the people and actually creating a net increase in taxes.

Where did the money go? Well, $15,000,000 went to build the Palin-Drome, a sports arena on land that is not owned by the town and so can’t even open its doors at present.

Does a town of about 8,000 people really need a $15,000,000 sports arena? More than basic infrastructure which is failing there?

The press is giving this duo a free pass by allowing this neocon radical reactionary extremist pair to call themselves moderate. Neither of these right wing extremists are conservative. Neither of these right wing extremists are moderate.

There is not a single issue on which either McCain or Palin is moderate. They are truly extremists.

#106 Jägermeister: Thanks for including the link to http://sarahpalinrumors.blogspot.com/ in your response!

  14. Leave that woman in peace, for God’s sake – she is used by McCain people to increase media coverage in everything about their side, even rumors and lies. And poor politics rookie does not even understand she is exploited, and lets everyone peak into her personal and professional issues… However, even this kind of trick won’t help McCain – http://www.votetheday.com/polls/spalins-impact-on-mccain-chances-to-win-86/

  15. John the Fierce says:

How many hours do you think will pass before this story blows up in the author’s face and any real discussion of differences will smell like this story already does?

  16. Mr. Fusion says:

    Joshua,

So the home-schooled, Rhodes Scholar, environmental lawyer is back. Spewing more bullshit as usual.

McCain isn’t liked by the majority of his party. He had to bring an extremist like Palin onto the ticket in order to sooth them. However, as Scott just wrote, both are extremists.

Palin isn’t a racist. She is a conservative of the right wing persausion.

    And the difference is?

    Her husband is Eskimo/American.

And we care because … .

The guy is behind or tied with McCain in all the national polls

    I don’t think so.

Obama still leads in the Electoral College. and McCain has a very slim 0.1% lead in the National averages. Once McCain’s convention bump dissipates, look for his ticket to fall fast.

NOTE: The Gallup Poll seems skewed with up to 10 points extra for McCain. That bump in turn has skewed the National Average.

  17. Joshua says:

Misanthropic Scott…..true…conservatism and change are not terms you mesh, but when the candidates are trying to end an 8 year run on greed by Democrats and Republicans (known as earmarks), then that is change.

Fusion…..I see you still get the first emailed copy of the Daily Kos/Democratic party talking points.
Gallop and Rasmusson say if it’s a McCain bounce it should end Tuesday, then his numbers should float back. It’s the internals that has everyone in a fit. Obama has dropped 20 points among independent women in 17 days, and 12 points among Catholics in Pennsylvania in 9 days. Those are pretty heady falls. You better hope it’s just a hiccup or you really will be in a locked facility on Nov. 6th. 🙂

  18. Joshua says:

Even if Fusion is to busy trash mouthing everyone who dosen’t see things his way (which is about 90% of humanity), there are some pretty obvious signs that all’s not well in the Kingdom of ****THE ONE****.

For the first time in Presidential politics history a Presidential candidate has all but abandoned his soaring rhetoric of *hope and post-partisianship* and is attacking on a daily basis not his opponent, but the VICE-Presidential candidate of the other party. Ignoring his real opponet, this close to the election says a lot about what Obama thinks is taking place. He was to smart by half not making Hillary his V.P., he keeps getting caught in lies and position changes. He can’t connect with a large segment of his own party.
He’s toast, it may take a week or two more to start really showing up, but the end is *nigh* .

Obama had a huge electoral college lead 6 weeks ago. He led in states with 323 electoral votes to McCains 195. Now, for the last 2 weeks he has been at 273(only 3 more than needed to win) with McCain at 234. Thats not something to brag about. He dropped from 5% up in Michigan last week to 1% up today.
You need to get caught up on the polls. The Nationals are moving, but so to are the swing states……and NOT towards Obama.

  19. #142 – Joshua,

All well and good to end earmarks. Just remember that Palin is the queen princess* of them. She has taken tremendous earmarks (relative to the size of her town) for things like the 15 megabuck sports arena. She also supported the bridge to nowhere before later flip-flopping coming to her senses on the issue.

    * She doesn’t have enough experience or enough of a domain to be a queen of anything, but is extremely good at getting earmarks.

  20. bobbo says:

#143–Joshua==you sure like to analyse the horserace and the personalities rather than the issues. Care to list the top 2-3 things McCain will bring to his administration? Don’t say “change” and “no pork.” Everyone always says that during the election.

#144–Scot==someone on Chris Matthews last night called Palin “a porker” before correcting himself with “someone who goes after pork barrel funding.” I guess its ok to call her a pit bull with lipstick but not a porker with lipstick.

  21. Paddy-O says:

#122 “Earlier this year, she told the Anchorage Daily News that schools should not fear teaching creationism alongside evolution. “Teach both. You know, don’t be afraid of information….”

Follow up questions revealed this answer…

“In a subsequent interview with the Daily News, Palin said discussion of alternative views on the origins of life should be allowed in Alaska classrooms. “I don’t think there should be a prohibition against debate if it comes up in class. It doesn’t have to be part of the curriculum,” she said. “

  22. Paddy-O says:

#146 “The whole world should be allowed to vote in U.S. elections”

Sure, if we can vote in yours… LOL

  23. Mogen David says:

Amos & Andy was a very popular radio show in the ’40’s & ’50’s. Today, no station would dare carry it for fear of losing their license!
My parents once told me; “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me”! In today’s world of Clinton POLITICAL CORRECTNESS, freedom of speech is becoming endangered, while minorities (not the majority) RULE!

  24. ladysheila says:

It!s silly to think that you can fool us you obama lover Gov. Palin is not devilish like you you should not use your brain for awhile and by the way why not drink some more coolaid to squench your thirst if you have nothing good to say about then keep your wicked thoughts to yourself you!re a big fat liar I know that you!re in the tank for obama so to you looser McCAIN/Palin all the way and all the time right on baby keep on hating and continue to tell tall tales about my angel the Lord is good.you!re a bold face lieyer and have a good sleep whenever you goes to bed at night and please dont dream you might not like it.

  25. stsystems says:

Hey, it only means that Sarah is one of us, huh?

  26. #150 – LadySheila

Wow. That has got to be the longest sentence I’ve ever seen on dvorak dot org slash blog.

Speaking of “coolaid”, perhaps you should cut back on your intake.

And hint: have someone copy edit your messages before you post. You come across as totally deranged.
