Israr Ullah Zehri, Traditionalist, Psychopath, Member of Parliament

Pakistani women buried alive for ‘choosing husbands’ – Telegraph — This an amazing story, but these sorts of tales permeate modern Pakistan where these practices are defended by a large portion of the public and, in fact, never prosecuted as crimes because the locals do not see this as a crime. It also tends to be under-reported in the West because it may insult a Pakistani.

Israr Ullah Zehri, who represents Baluchistan province, told a stunned parliament that northwestern tribesman had done nothing wrong in first shooting the women and then dumping them in a ditch.

“These are centuries-old traditions, and I will continue to defend them,” he said.

“Only those who indulge in immoral acts should be afraid.”

The women, three of whom were teenagers and whose “crime” was that they wished to choose who to marry, were still breathing as mud and stones were shovelled over their bodies, according to Human Rights Watch.

The three girls, thought to be aged between 16 and 18, were kidnapped by a group of men from their Umrani tribe and murdered in Baba Kot, a remote village in Jafferabad district.

According to some reports, Baluchistan government vehicles were used to abduct the girls, and the killing was overseen by a tribal chief who is the brother of a provincial minister from the ruling Pakistan People’s Party.

And always remember these people have an A-bomb too.

Its amazing to see deluded people in the west defending and rationalizing these primitive behaviors and get find the time to criticize Bush et al

  2. Improbus says:

As time goes by I see less and less hope for us as a species. It is just a matter of time until some crazy decides we all need to go home to god and does something to kill us all. I am talking weapon of mass destruction (viral, bacterial or nuclear).

  3. N74JW says:

    M Brown,

Your comment is the only one I see here… The people over there can do as they please as far as this Westerner is concerned, but even a rational person would admit that what they are doing is fucked up.

My lawyer friend visited both Pakistan and India and went to dinner with a high level Indian gov’t offical…he excused himself from the table to use the men’s room and said,

“Excuse me. I have to go to Pakistan.”

    How true.

  5. igor says:

While it seems so unthinkable to su RIGHT NOW, consider that not THAT long ago europe had some crule punishments of them self.
Ppl would cut you alive, put u in hot water etc etc. My point is its all moral laws that change with time depending on culture.

  6. apeguero says:

I think we shouldn’t get involved with people like that. We should stay out. If they want to kill themselves then hey, who are we to judge. We should though, keep our defenses beefed up to the brim for, if the time comes, when that culture tries to change ours, we can let’em have it! Unfortunately, this culture making it to ours is inevitable since the way America is, it will not identify itself with one culture, one language, one border (gee, where did I hear this?). This culture will eventually make it here and we’ll be forced to accept it since there are so many here that would defend acts like these as alternative and acceptable. And if we question it then we would be questioning their patriotism and be considered un-American. Damn! Too much for me to think about on a freaky Monday (Tuesday after a holiday). Just don’t ever take away my 2nd Ammendment Right.

  7. JimD says:

This is why I tell American women to NEVER, EVER, have anything to do with Arab men !!! No matter how nice they may be, or rich, NEVER GET INVOLVED !!! Their “Moral Code” is so far behind the West, they cannot be reconciled !!! Women are STILL PROPERTY, so their is no possiblity of women having “Come a long way, Baby” !!! And EQUAL RIGHTS FOR WOMEN are not even in the minds of Arab men as even the REMOTEST POSSIBILITY !!!

  8. JimD says:

P.S. Wonder if those “Baluchistan government vehicles” were paid for the US “AID” to Pakistan ???

  9. chuck says:

#6 “not THAT long ago europe had some crule punishments of them self.”

    – by “not so long ago”, I think you mean several hundred years ago. And the punishments, while cruel, were usually for crimes, such as murder, or even stealing.

    – and while it’s true that believing in the wrong form of Christianity could sometimes get you killed, it doesn’t excuse any of it.

I seem to recall that being Jewish, or Gypsy, or homosexual or just being in the wrong place at the wrong time was a capital offense, oh, some 60 years ago across much of Europe. Before you shout that Nazis were a special case, recall the story of Alan Turing.

  17. Fab says:

As a human being, this makes me soo sad. Seriously. I laugh when I read about the man cutting his arm, but killing children just because they want to live… this is too much.

#1. “Its amazing to see deluded people in the west defending and rationalizing these primitive behaviors”

who, exactly? the only rationalizing of “primitive behaviors” that I have seen comes from those who defend torture, and those tend not to be the same people who …

“find the time to criticize Bush et al”

what a happy convergence! since the Bushies are not really keeping track of where it goes, it is possible that US aid to Pakistan paid for the government vehicles involved in this atrocity and/or the salaries of the murderers.

  21. Mr. Fusion says:

    #21, doug,

Gee, that is what I intended on saying.

But seriously, who the hell is defending this cruelty.
