There are certainly a lot of differences between Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton. Palin loves guns, hunting, drilling for oil, and creationism in schools. All of which Hillary is against. And of course Palin is completely against abortion, even in cases of rape, the opposite of Hillary. (And don’t even get me started on Palin’s ankles and Hillary’s cankles!) Still, there is one thing these ladies have in common: Rumors and allegations of corruption from their home states.

Wonkette – August 29, 2008:

Hooray for Sarah Palin, the new fake Hillary Clinton! And like the Clintons, Palin and her husband, “Todd,” are involved in a horrible scandal in their corrupt nothing state, and it’s about troopers. So let’s offer a brief background about this epic scandal which has ruined her reputation in Alaska, where she used to have 90% approval ratings.

The basic idea of the scandal is that she and her husband pressured the commissioner of the state Public Safety Department to fire a state trooper named Mike Wooten, Palin’s former brother-in-law, who has been in a nasty custody battle with Palin’s sister. Then when the commissioner refused, Palin fired him and replaced him with an idiot who then left a couple of weeks later.

Palin has claimed innocence and even launched an ethics investigation to determine whether anyone on her staff exerted pressure on the commissioner. And sure enough, the commissioner received a ton of calls from, uh, Palin’s husband and chief of staff. And then this one, where the idiot staffer mentions “Todd” and “Sarah”:

Palin said the “most disturbing” was a phone call Frank Bailey, the governor’s director of boards and commissions, made to trooper Lt. Rodney Dial in February. The Public Safety Department recorded the call, as it does routinely.

Palin, who said she’d only just learned of the call, released a recorded copy of it to the press on Wednesday. In it, Bailey clearly pressures the lieutenant.

Bailey told him during the conversation that Palin and her husband want to know why Wooten still has a job.

“Todd and Sarah are scratching their heads, ‘Why on earth hasn’t this, why is this guy still representing the department?’ He’s a horrible recruiting tool, you know,” Bailey told the lieutenant.

Hey, how about giving me some credit. I already linked to this story in the comments section (see # 30) back on the Aug. 30th post about the 5th child actually being that of her daughter.

  2. Stars & Bars says:

The sad thing is, the Democrats believe if their party, Obama/Biden, is elected it will get the US out of conflict in the Middle East. Get a clue.

Wow sounds like a few super GOP’ers found this site and are now ranting like mad. Wah I won’t control the government anymore wah. Wah all my shell companies will get taxed. Boo fucking hoo. Thank the monkey who gave out stimulus checks during wartime. Maybe if you thought of the overall picture and thought for yourself you would see the big picture. Also reading slanted blogs ( most of them are slanted in some way or another ) that you agree with doesn’t count for a credible news source.

As for Palin, the phrase ” dan quale with tits ” keeps coming up, and it’s so fitting

D Huber: “Hey, how about giving me some credit.

I’d love to but I found out about this story quite a while ago. Probably from Digg. I was waiting for one of the more politically minded editors to pick it up, when they didn’t, I did it.

  7. Joe says:

This is totally awesome! If this could only be proven or there were say, hundreds of more skeletons in her closet (shady real-estate deals, perhaps a purchased college term paper or something) she could run for President next time as a Democrat!

  8. MikeN says:

Other than they both involve the word trooper, there’s no comparison. The better comparison is maybe to TravelGate, where Clinton fired the head of the Travel Office, and fabricated a criminal case against him, in order to put his friends in charge.

In Clinton’s Troopergate, it was using officers to get women for him. The only reason it was a scandal, was because David Brock reported that Paula Jones wanted to meet the Governor and it started impeachment.

  9. livvidd says:

Your Totally right #10 but what does it have to do with the subject? I smell a puppet.

  10. James Hill says:

You’re two days behind the curve, hate monger. Were you on vacation and trying to catch up, or is it time to admit you’re a little slow on this stuff?

  11. Bryan Price says:

I don’t know, Lou. Maybe when the President stops grabbing and abusing his/her power and actually starts following the Constitution? That date could be January 20, 2009. My bet is that it will be by that date, and by a very wide margin, and with a much bigger majority in the Senate and the House of the same party.

And if you’re pissed now, a year from now when people are calling for Bush’s head (among others) for war crimes, you should be going real ape shit then. I don’t care who pardons who, it will go up to the SCOTUS to see if presidential pardons extend to the World Court (probably not). That is when the real shit-storm hits, I predict.

  12. Paddy-O says:

#13 “I don’t care who pardons who, it will go up to the SCOTUS to see if presidential pardons extend to the World Court (probably not).”

    LOL!

World Court? Put down the crack pipe and slowly back away.

Hey, why not? They nabbed Slobodan Milošević; why not Dumbya? Although they’d probably be better going after President Cheney/ Rove.

  14. RonD says:

Sounds like there is more than a “nasty custody battle” involved here:

    http://tinyurl.com/5a33re

“Then there’s trooper Mike Wooten, who used a Taser on his stepson, Palin’s nephew Payton. Wooten has been reprimanded for violating nearly a dozen laws and departmental policies since December 2001.”

Sounds to me like Wooten deserves to be fired.

  15. bobbo says:

I should google first but don’t Kissinger and/or Rumsfeld avoid flying into certain countries?

As we continue our oil based hemoraging, its not hard to imagine in 50 years falling into 2-3-4 place in world economies behind the EU, China, India. Alternatively, the UN could strike a deal with OPEC to enforce its World Court Orders via oil embargoes until compliance is provided.

Give us Bush or no oil for YOU! At last, Bush could be of worth to the USA. Not for a while though.

  16. Angel H. Wong says:

Palin may be like Hillary but without Bill Clinton she’s just a generic, middle-aged, bossy bitch (see Condoleeza)

  17. Paddy-O says:

#15 “Hey, why not? They nabbed Slobodan Milošević;”

Did you notice the SCotUS ruling on the World Court trying to usurp Texas death penalty on those Mexicans? And that was when we had a relevant treaty in place.

  18. bobbo says:

Well, she really might be more like Bush than anyone else. She doesn’t care about people outside her committed henchmen and makes such judgments by listening to her heart.

  19. deowll says:

The Dems had a major PR problem with Palin.

Some of them are throwing so much mud hoping some of it will stick that a lot of people are now going to assume that everything bad posted about her is a lie and they aren’t going to dig through the crap trying to find any nuggets of truth.

For example after reading the posts that have been posted here about her I’m now at the stage that anything posted about Palin on this blog is autmaticly discredited.

This was lack witted because Palin has a real record a lot of people won’t like.

  20. Jägermeister says:

#21 – devil – For example after reading the posts that have been posted here about her I’m now at the stage that anything posted about Palin on this blog is autmaticly discredited.

You’re so upset about the whole Palin story and you hate everything here… and you still go to every thread to write your nonsense.

Shut off your browser and continue with your fantasy life.

  21. Rick Cain says:

Evil democrats! How dare you criticize dear leader’s VP choice! Send in the shock troops, take them to the ministry of pure thought and make them love america again!
