The liberal media is making fun of John McCain as if he were some kind of elitist because he can’t remember how many homes he owns. Well I say, “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone!” After all, how many of us really know how many homes we own? Can you just answer that off the top of your head? Donald Trump probably doesn’t know how many homes he owns either and is anyone calling him an elitist? Maybe there’s a reason McCain said he doesn’t remember how many homes he owns because he doesn’t want Osama bin Laden to find out. Yeah, that’s got to be it.

#31–SL==you are a smart guy. Actually think about how each side has gone negative against the other. Are they each doing the same thing in the same way? The differences have been noted in this blog the last few days. Sorry to see you join the mob.

I’d go into detail, but its not about their budget plans, so, its all a diversion.

Improbus, that may well be my favorite Shakespeare quote.

  3. bobbo says:

Bringing the thread back on point, Marc==in the main, the charge against McCain is NOT that he is an elitist, but rather that he is “out of touch.”

With everything being scripted, and most responses limited/twisted into parts of tested stump speeches, it is difficult to get a read on the candidates real thinking that they might actually act upon when in office.

On its own, not knowing how many houses you own can be explained away in many easy ways, but it might show that indeed McCain is out of touch. Out of touch with the average American and the assault on the economic underpinnings of the economy.

    Is the economy strong?
Are those who are concerned about the economy, jobs, sub-prime meltdown (still underway!), lack of oversight really just whiners?
Do we need a draft because the surge is working?

If you can’t see McCain as being severely out of touch, something is missing in yourself as well.

  4. Brian says:

This story is such a big deal because the McCain camp has been painting Obama as some sort of rich elitist who’s out of touch with the ‘common’ man.

The reality of the situation is quite the opposite. McCain with his $500 shoes, private jet, $100 million+ fortune and too many homes to remember PROVES that mccain is the elitist who’s out of touch with the ‘common’ man.

  5. Glenn E. says:

Actually, if McCain admitted to them all, he’d probably have to pay more taxes on them. So natch, he’s cagey about it. Just like Martha Stewart had one of her homes declared a farm. So she wouldn’t have to pay her employees there, overtime. The rich get and stay rich, be exploiting every loophole they can find.

  6. the answer says:

Doesn’t matter how many homes you own, pay your damn bills. Even if he had an accountant they would say what he owed.

  7. Rick Cain says:

I thought McCain had 10 houses?

Maybe there should be a video game, called “find McCain’s houses”.
