When it comes to life after death, I think Ockham’s razor should be used. When people die, nothing else happens. No after life. No reincarnation. No resurrection. All they do is become the dead.
As for Oprah having her own church, this is America. If you do not like the interpretation of the bible being spouted at the church you are going to now, then create your own church. That is the American way.
As I have said before, churches and religions are like Linux distributions.

I don’t know who is behind this Obama smear campaign but my guess is Carrington Steele the author of “Don’t Drink The Kool-Aid: Oprah, Obama and the Occult” is connected to them somehow. The title is priceless and clearly exposes the true intentions of this little campaign.

#38 J, I was just thinking the same thing even before I saw your comment. It struck me that this looked like a cheap attempt to diminish the value of Oprah’s endorsement to Obama. The timing is a little too “Rovian” to be coincidental.

I had an evangelical christian roommate once. We would have arguments that went like this:
Him: Jesus is the only way to God.
Me: How do you know?
Him: The bible says it, plain as day
Me: How do you know the Bible is true?
Him: The Bible is the unadulterated word of God, how could it not be true?
Me: How do you know it’s the unadulterated word of God?
Him: It SAYS SO IN THE BIBLE.
At this point the best thing to do is say “Okay. Makes sense to me. Thanks” because there is absolutely nothing you can say that will convince them that this is a circular argument. But this is what we are dealing with here. People who are totally incapable of rational thought or critical thinking. That is why we have museums depicting people riding on dinosaurs.
FIrst of all, can’t get past the creepy sound effects in the beginning. Second of all, can’t get past the bad spelling.
Sorry but I can’t disagree with the big O on this topic. But I don’t think she is preaching religion rather than spirituality. I would think it is high time in this world that someone talk about similarities in religion and spirituality rather than our differences. Our differences pointed out over and over again cause pain and suffering in this world. It is quite sad that a talk show host has to point this out but better that we get to that sooner rather than never!
Oprah doesn’t need any more money, so now she’s opting to tell the truth the way she sees it — good for her.

Why do people continually post links to YouTube as a reference. Any idiot can come up with some garbage and post it. YouTube (and similar sites) are not authoritative. They are propaganda where the director can edit the piece to anything he wants.
This moran on the bike is looking for a Darwin Award. He is riding in heavy traffic and continually talking. I am not an atheist. I don’t believe in a god or supreme being. If there is anyone superior to humans, then they evolved, just like us, on some distant planet. Maybe even in a distant galaxy.
Atheist is what those who believe there is supreme being have decided to call me. That is their name, not mine. The same as years ago we called them Eskimos. Little did the white man know that that was because their enemies called them that as a derogatory. They call themselves Inuit and are highly offended at the name Eskimo.

Now, her white women’s audience, which made Oprah rich, wants to know more about Sarah Palin, but Oprah says NO !!!
OPRAH … from spending several years in Jeremiah Wright’s anti-American racist church, listening to sermons like “God Damn America”, and giving life time achievement awards to the likes of Louis Farrakhan … to her newest opportunistic religious beliefs … who could possibly take Oprah seriously? This woman’s ego is soooo big, being a billionaire celebrity isn’t enough, she has to start her own religion … not to mention all the additional money she is going to make selling all those book, tapes, CD’s, etc. to her poor followers. Oprah’s new power hungry ambitions include efforts to replace traditional America with Obama … and access to a President she puts into office … to her efforts at replacing Christianity with a new religion she controls. I think it’s time for America to deny Oprah access to our television sets.
