This story is on the first half of the video followed by a couple of other stories.

    >>#87 I’ll let you search it out

Heh. Heh heh. Heh heh heh.

I think that (along with ChickenBush checking “no” on the Viet Nam volunteer form, the fact that he only knew how to fly a plane that was obsolete at the time, and the total lack of any evidence to the contrary) says it all.

    Dismissed.

  2. deowll says:

They did the cheap thing and used canned footage for a current envent.

    Get over it.

Not every section of video or photo shown was taken on the day at the event being talked about.

It’s still a blunder and they lost face. Serves them right.

  3. Mister Mustard says:

    #88 – Lyin’ Mike

    >>And Mustard, your two part question appears
    >>to be the same. I believe Bush completed his >>service. There is no evidence to the
    >>contrary.

Oh, come one, Lyin’ Mike. Surely you jest! There are plenty of records documenting Pappy Bush’s military service John Kerry’ military service, JFK’s military service, Ike’s military service.

Yet somehow, whent it turns out Dumbya was AWOL from his “wartime” job flying potted plants around Dixie, the “records retention policy” goes into effect?

Haw. Haw haw haw! HAW! I can’t believe that even you would put forth such a ridiculous argument.

    Dismissed.

  4. hhopper says:

#94 – Unbelievable! A comment that wasn’t off topic. Will wonders never cease.

  5. Thomas says:

    #52
An alleged hero that turned his back on everything for which he supposedly stood. Until Kerry, it had *never* happened in the history of the US for the men serving under a man running for office to question his integrity and honor. Never. His aptitude, qualifications and opinions? Sure. But never his honor or integrity. Not just a man. The men serving under Kerry did this. We can either beiieve that every single one of them had a vendetta against Kerry or maybe, just maybe what they are saying had a shred of truth. Kerry was/is a promotion seeking loser. Had he not married the ketchup queen he would either be doing late night infomercials, serving fries at MickeyD’s or, with his morals, be a lawyer.

    #95
The difference is that Ike, JFK and even Kerry were in the US military whereas Bush was in the Texas National Guard. The level of record keeping and document retention are obviously different.

With respect to Rather’s document, if the document is not authentic, is it not by definition a forgery? Let’s not forget the source of the documents: Bill Burkett (Questions Surround Man Who Provided Documents)

  6. Mister Mustard says:

    #97 – Tommie

    >>The men serving under Kerry did this.

Most of the men serving under Kerry verified that he was, in fact, a war hero. Those who were tempted by the pieces of silver offered by T. Boone Pickens and his Swift Boat Liars committee chose to state otherwise. May God have mercy on their mortal souls.

    >>The level of record keeping and document
    >>retention are obviously different.

You bet they are. Especially when the order goes out from campaign headquarters to “sanitize” the files. And since there’s no easy way to make it look as though he actually completed his duty, the files just disappear.

    Mission accomplished.

  7. MikeN says:

There are records of Bush’s service. Somehow, I doubt you will find every day’s worth of records for everyone else’s service. Find us the records of where Kerry was Christmas 1968. I say he was AWOL. If you don’t have exact records saying otherwise, then he was AWOL, right?

  8. Mr. Fusion says:

    #97, Thomas,

The difference is that Ike, JFK and even Kerry were in the US military whereas Bush was in the Texas National Guard. The level of record keeping and document retention are obviously different.

Obviously you are wrong. The Air National Guard is a part of the United States Air Force. They follow USAF Regulations, traditions, methods, ranks, use USAF equipment, and even answer to the Pentagon.

With respect to Rather’s document, if the document is not authentic, is it not by definition a forgery?

If is a very big word. As the authenticity of the documents, because of the lack of true verification, they can’t be accepted as authentic. That doesn’t mean they are fraudulent, only that they are unacceptable as a final proof. In other words they can’t be proven true or false.

  9. Mr. Fusion says:

    #99, Lyin’ Mike,

Find us the records of where Kerry was Christmas 1968. I say he was AWOL. If you don’t have exact records saying otherwise, then he was AWOL, right?

Uuhh, no. In order to be considered true, you need to produce some evidence to back up your assertion. Because there are records of Kerry’s service from 1966 to 1970, it is readily assumed he was on duty. If you really want to know though, he was stationed in Cat Lo, Viet Nam.

Kerry released his military and medical records for scrutiny by the media. None of the records were questioned for veracity or missing.

In contrast, Bush is known to have left the Texas Air National Guard to transfer to Alabama. There is no record that he ever joined an Alabama ANG unit. Nor are there any current or former Alabama ANG members who recall Bush having been in attendance. When asked directly, Bush has not answered that yes, he completed his service.

  10. MikeN says:

The assumption is that Bush was off doing drugs based on his answers. Well Kerry says that Christmas 1968 he was in Cambodia and heard President Nixon on the radio. Based on this I conclude he was AWOL doing drugs.

  11. MikeN says:

Kerry’s records were not made available to ‘the media’, but rather exactly three media organizations. What is he hiding?

  12. Mr. Fusion says:

    Lyin’ Mike,

You have gone from the ridiculous to the totally fucked up. IF Kerry had of been sent on a mission to Cambodia then he was there. I don’t know as a fact and such records are secret. Then, YOU don’t know as a fact either and in wing nut form you are just throwing more shit on the fan.

So did Bush complete his service?

  13. Paddy-O says:

#101 “Kerry released his military and medical records for scrutiny by the media. None of the records were questioned for veracity or missing.”

#103 “Kerry’s records were not made available to ‘the media’, but rather exactly three media organizations. What is he hiding?”

He wouldn’t open them to unbiased scrutiny. This indicates he is hiding something damaging. Who did he release to and who did he refuse?

  14. MikeN says:

Let me say it again. He said it was seared in his mind that he heard Pres Nixon on the radio denying operations in Cambodia while he was there Christmas 1968. Nixon wasn’t President then!

  15. Paddy-O says:

    #106 “Nixon wasn’t President then!”

Maybe, Kerry was in an alternate universe, one where he was a war hero…

  16. Mr. Fusion says:

    Cow-Paddy and Lyin’ Mike,

Did Bush complete his Air National Guard Service. Fuck the bullshit, just answer the question.

  17. Paddy-O says:

#108 “Did Bush complete his Air National Guard Service. Fuck the bullshit, just answer the question.”

According to his discharge status he did. Why?

  18. Mr. Fusion says:

    #105, Cow-Paddy,

So you are just too lazy or incompetent to find the information yourself.

Kerry responded that the documents were posted on his website.[103] On May 20, 2005, Kerry did sign the SF-180 form permitting release of his service records and medical records to reporters from the Boston Globe, the Los Angeles Times, and the Associated Press;[104] he refused a request by the New York Sun for access to the records.[105] The Boston Globe and Los Angeles Times reported that the records largely duplicated what Kerry had released during the campaign.

SBVT members also criticized Kerry for not releasing his own private journals and letters. However, SBVT members themselves refused to release documents. For example, a journal by another of the Swift boat commanders and the relevant Navy records of some of the SBVT members involved in specific allegations have not been released.[3]

    #109, Cow-Paddy,

His discharge papers are unavailable. Or do you know something 300,000,000 other Americans don’t?

  19. Paddy-O says:

#110, He was honorably discharged 1 Oct ’73 by Col. Bobby Hodges, TexANG

“So you are just too lazy or incompetent to find the information yourself?”

No, I get incompetents to do it for me. Thank you BTW. However, you failed. His papers have actually
been scanned and are on the web. However, being incompetent you couldn’t find them. LOL

I’m looking at them right now. Although, I received paper copies in 2000. They match those on the web too…

  20. bobbo says:

#111–Paddy-o==you express detailed personal knowledge of BushCo. According to your own values, expressed as you may wish to do, did Bushieboy the Younger serve his country honorable during his guard years?

In other words, is how Bush acted the way you would wish all men in his status to have acted?

  21. Paddy-O says:

    #112

Interesting question. He did well until he was turned down for a combat assignment. He lost interest after that.

If I was just going to be hanging out flying a Deuce State side I might have left to do s/g more productive.

So, take from it what you will. Certainly it wasn’t as honorable as Kerry’s or McCain’s (for sure) but better than dishonorable Bill’s draft dodging.

  22. bobbo says:

#113–Paddy==”turned down for a combat assignment?” Ha, ha. Well, I can see reality still has a tether on you. Long leash, but still a tether.

  23. Paddy-O says:

#114 Thanks bobbo, that means a lot, coming from you.

  24. bobbo says:

#115–Paddy. Thank You. Much like yourself, at least I have to honor the office?

  25. Paddy-O says:

Hey Mr. Fusion I scanned one for ya…

  26. #113 – Picnic Table

    >>Interesting question. He did well until he was
    >>turned down for a combat assignment.

Are you delusional, or what? He actively avoided any chance that he would ever go anywhere near combat. Get it through your thick, piney top.

    >>He lost interest after that.

Oh darn. We’re in the middle of a war, he’s in the military, and he “lost interest”? And you think that’s honorable? No wonder you voted for the moron. Birds of a feather…..

    >>If I was just going to be hanging out flying a
    >>Deuce State side I might have left to do s/g more
    >>productive.

And you would have been charged with desertion. But then again, your father’s not Pappy Bush.

And “hanging out flying a Deuce State side” is exactly what he signed up for.

If he wanted combat, he woulda gotten combat. I know dozens of people who didn’t even want combat service, but they got it nevertheless.

Let it go, son. Dumbya was a coward, a deserter, and now he’s turned into a ChickenHawk. Right along with most of the others in his “administration”.

  27. Picnic Table:

    >>Hey Mr. Fusion I scanned one for ya…
    >>http://tinyurl.com/5cswuv

Nice link, dude. About as effectual as the rest of your arguments.

    HAW!!

  28. Paddy-O says:

#119 – I know you are upset about having your reality shattered but, get a glass of red wine, wipe the spittle off your monitor and relax.

I really don’t care if you accept what is. I’m just try to help you through your condition.

Get a good nights sleep and things will look better in the morning.

BTW, your computer isn’t secured against s/o remotely taking control of a cam if you hook one up. 😉

  29. Mister Mustard says:

Paddy O’, I suggest you lay off the absinthe.

You’re beginning to sound like somewhat of a kook.

It was bad enough when you were trying to argue that Dumbya completed his military service honorably (and no, I don’t mean Pappy fixing up an honorable discharge for him), but now you’re going over the top.

    Time for the rubber room?

  30. Paddy-O says:

#121 You get worked up too easily. Is life really this serious to you?
