The video seems odd the way it goes fuzzy and cuts to a different shot right after the supposed shooting. If you watch that segment closely, it looks the video has been edited at that point. Given how easily digital photographs can be altered, it is worth having a little skepticism.

  2. Magnus Patris says:

Well it’s from that paragon of truth, Al Jazeera. What do you expect?

  3. joe says:

nice video editing, now can we see the whole UNEDITED video.

  4. scottelsdon says:

Ahh, nice man is helping the muslim met his god sooner. Should be applauded for helping him get there faster. Any more waiting in the queue ?

  5. Ah_Yea says:

Oh, I can’t believe this. Someone is crying about this guy getting a rubber bullet in the leg, when his buddies just returned two Israeli corpses they held for years?

  6. scottelsdon says:

Ah, flip, I thought he shot him and killed him, its just a rubber bullet in the leg, waste of time. (Dam work doesn’t allow streaming vids 🙁

  7. ECA says:

    lets see,
    If this is true…
I would like to see what this soldier would do, IF’ we took his kid out and point a GUN at it..
LETS see how he would feel.

  8. Lou Minatti says:

“I hate those damn kikes.” – What McCullough really wants to say.

    You disgust me.

  9. CZen says:

Shooting someone while they are blind folded and restrained is reprehenseble.

Even if you think this video is fake, why would a soldier fire toward a incapacitated prisoner.

That being said, environments that contain two opposing factions fighting for over half a century breed people with sociopathic tendencies. I would blame this more on the two religious groups who refuse to live together.

In most situations of conflict both parties are partialy to blame.

  10. alex says:

Regardless of race or religious inclination, all I see in that video is just another example of a guy with a gun taking advantage of a powerless individual.

Abuse of power, police brutality, it’s the same behavior and it happens worldwide.

We have the control structures of the world (the State) to thank for it.

    Time for some falafel.

  11. Brandon says:

I don’t see what the story is here. This is not a government sanctioned action, and by the looks of it will be punished accordingly. Nobody was killed, this sensationalist piece is doing more harm than good.

  12. clio says:

Assuming it is what it portrays, it appears that it is being protested by an israeli human rights organization.

How many attrocities committed by palastinians, or al quaida or any other muslim group are protested openly by arabs?

Perhaps they are not broadcasted here in the US but I really dont remember any.

  13. MikeN says:

The supposed Mohammed Al-Dura murder by Israelis has been shown to be a hoax. Why these sorts of things get parroted by media outlets is beyond me.

  14. lou says:

Just another day on the Gaza strip.

  15. Michael_GR says:

israeli websites seem to indicate this was some mis-understanding between the soldier, who thought he recieved an order to shoot at the man’s leg in order to intimidate him (don’t know why) and the soldier’s superior who claims he only told the soldier to pretend he was about to shoot. so really, even disregarding the inflammatory and misleading way in which the headline was phrased, most of it is also simply untrue.

You could, if you want, report on the reason the protest took place. This is much more important – the israeli authorities are taking over lands belonging to the villagers in order to build the security wall. But what the government of israel is doing is not the soldier’s fault.

  16. deowll says:

For some reason I have lost all interest in visiting the Holy land. The people who live there are such an ungodly bunch. Well they all think they are goodly but the way many of them act they might as well be satan worshipers. And no I’m not even refering to the soldier. This sort of crap and worse is the norm.

  17. Don says:

What a NON story! They shot him in the leg with a rubber bullet, against the published government policies in Israel. Now Israel will bring the Bozo up on charges, but every Muslim Nutjob will bring this issue up for the next 50 years as to why they cannot live with Israel inhabiting the “HOLY LAND.”

Yo, ARAB/PALESTINIAN NUTJOBS. Israel is not going anywhere. At least not from what the corrupt/incompetant oppositian gevernments can muster against them.

Learn to live with them. Your lives will be much happier.

    Don

  18. sam says:

The ratio of dead Palestinians to Israelis is at least 10:1. Every people has a moral right to self determination not only god’s pets. A racial supremacist religion duet ch7 ezra ch 9,10 nehmiah 13 joshua ch 23?
Talmud is even more “racist” than old testament.
I listen to Dr. David Duke you should give him a try!

  19. iDN says:

    scottelsdon:
It was a rubber bullet. The worst that could happen is that the Arab was severely injured (which kind of happened).

  20. Alex says:

    @#19:
“It was a rubber bullet. The worst that could happen is that the Arab was severely injured (which kind of happened).”

Actually, no – at that close a range if he had been hit in the head/neck (either purposefully or because the gun misfired – low probability, yes, but still possible) he could have easily died.

That being said – yeah. Bit of a non story. Cops abuse power everywhere. Are we shocked at this now? Should we act shocked?

  21. Paddy-O says:

Here’s the real info. A bruise is the horrific outcome of this incident.

RAMALLAH, West Bank — “A human rights group has released a video that shows an Israeli soldier firing a rubber-coated bullet from close range toward the feet of a bound, blindfolded Palestinian man.

The Israeli military said Monday it was investigating the video, taken two weeks ago, and described the shooting as a “stark violation” of army rules. Defense Minister Ehud Barak condemned the soldier’s conduct.

The Palestinian, Ashraf Abu Rahmeh, said Monday he was shot in one of his left toes and treated at the scene. During an interview, Abu Rahmeh, 27, took off his shoe and showed a large blister on his toe, with bruising underneath.”

  22. MikeN says:

why dont you guys just chant death to israel?

  23. Mr. Fusion says:

    #13, Lyin’ Mike,

    More of your bullshit?

The guy was blindfolded. They shot him.

Israelis do that almost every day to Palestinians. Usually with real bullets. Often with bombs from helicopters. Sometimes with big bombs from F-16s. On civilians.

  24. Brett says:

FUCK ISRAEL, at least the Israeli government and military.

  25. Paddy-O says:

#23 “The guy was blindfolded. They shot him.”

…in the foot, with a rubber bullet.

    Oh, the humanity!

  26. Matt Garrett says:

    CONTEXT is a wonderful thing.

  27. MikeN says:

Yeah, and why is this blog focusing on the actions of Israeli cops? What is the point?

  28. Mr. Fusion says:

    Cow-Paddy,

Are you volunteering to be shot in the foot from a few feet away with a rubber bullet?

  29. zorkor says:

I bet the average zero IQ fat ass American must be happy to see the middle east only “true” democracy killing innocent people like that. The Israelis don’t deserve home in the middle east, they are far better off to invade some land in America and breed there.

Israel kills innocent people everyday while if one muslim kills any stinkin bitchians (christians) or spews (read jews), then the whole world starts crying over this.

  30. Paddy-O says:

#28 “Are you volunteering to be shot in the foot from a few feet away with a rubber bullet?”

Pay for my time, sure. I’ve been shot with REAL bullets before.
