So, which is worse: looking at pictures of people having sex with an octopus or actually having sex with an octopus? Or bad teeth?

Octopus sex man avoids jail

A Tasmanian man caught downloading images of sexual acts with an octopus has avoided a jail term.

Rodney Scott McLagan, 48, of South Arm in Hobart was caught with 31,000 images and video files involving sexual acts with children, dogs, ponies, snakes, tigers and an octopus.

Justice David Porter said McLagan had a personality disorder that caused him to avoid interpersonal contact and gave him a pre-occupation with being criticised or rejected, The Mercury reported today.

“Without the opportunity for normal sexual relationships fantasy is often indulged,” the judge said yesterday.

“It also emerges from the report that you are particularly self-conscious about your teeth.”

He sentenced McLagan to four months in jail, wholly suspended, and fined him $1500.

I wish this story had clarified what was illegal and what wasn’t illegal.

I think I have a photograph of an octopus on my hard disk, right now. I may even have pictures of dogs, horses, snakes and tigers.

Is that enough to get me convicted and sentenced in Tasmania – for possibly thinking about possibly doing something, possibly really weird — or what?

I realize it was likely the pictures of the children that got him convicted but it’s not made clear in the story. Excellent journalism!

    Mmmmmm… Octopus fillet…

  5. bobbo says:

So, what was he convicted of? The child porn was evidently not relevant so we are left with pictures of beastiality? I’m not aware that is illegal in the USA, but can easily accept other cultures may be more protective of animal rights and outlaw it for their protection?

Is it illegal to watch animals mate in Tasmania or only for humans to mate with animals, or was it the other way around? Seems to me if an animal is having sex with a human, it must be consensual?

    We need the dirty details.

Wow…I just looked up tentacle porn in the all knowing wiki. Japanese octopuses have been raping women for a very, very long time.

Octopus is fine, but not live nor raw. As for the rest, I can only go as far as Octopussy, the movie…

  9. Balbas says:

You never Googled for man/octopus sex before this article, right — all of you reading this?

    Now you can’t stop?

Just heard a news story earlier that said 85% of all internet traffic is due to this one post on Dvorak.
