No one ever said game designers are good musicians…

Nintendo plans to launch a music game for its hit Wii game console this year, taking it into the fast-growing software segment pioneered by “Guitar Hero.

Wii Music” will let players simulate more than 60 different instruments. Activision’s “Guitar Hero” turned the music-playing genre into arguably the hottest category for video games.

“Guitar Hero” already plays on all three game consoles, including the Wii, helping to build the industry’s appeal among players beyond core fighting and race-style titles.

60 instruments!? You could be your own ELO…

Maybe I can use this to finally learn to play the drums…

    #1 – Smartalix

I learned playing guitar on Guitar Hero and believe it or not… James Hetfield called me just to say that they were willing to dump Kirk Hammett if I wanted to join their band. If you learn to play the drums with Wii, I’ll let James know that he can dump that stinking Dane, Lars Ulrich.

  5. Mark Parker says:

That sounded dreadful. Were they trying to impress us?

  6. GregAllen says:

We are long overdue for a hand-held digital instrument which will be as revolutionary as the electric guitar.

I’m not talking about a Casio with a neck-strap, but a totally new invention that takes full advantage of digital audio. (sampling, MIDI, sequencing, filters etc.)

I’ve actually thoroughly designed such a thing in my mind but I’m just not the entrepreneurial kind of guy to get it done.

  7. DieFundie says:

lol worst. demo. ever. Can’t they find people capable of actually sounding good?

  8. James Hill says:

I’m sure the obo will be a popular choice.

  9. qsabe says:

  10. m.c. in l.v. says:
