Fox News anchor ED Hill has lost her show a week after suggesting Barack Obama and his wife Michelle’s on-stage victory gesture could be seen as a “terrorist fist jab”. Hill, the anchor of Fox News show America’s Pulse, made the comment last Friday after Obama and his wife affectionately bumped fists before his victory speech on becoming the Democratic candidate for president. “A fist bump? A pound? A terrorist fist jab? The gesture everyone seems to interpret differently,” said Hill in her show. “We’ll show you some interesting body communication and find out what it really says.”

According to US media reports Hill, who has been with Fox News Channel since 1998, has now lost her show although she is to stay with the network in an as yet undetermined capacity. Hill apologised for the gaffe live on-air at the start of her show on Tuesday. Prior to anchoring America’s Pulse, Hill hosted Fox News Live. She also co-hosts Bill O’Reilly’s Radio Factor show.

The “terrorist fist jab” comment is the one in a series of anti-Obama incidents in which Fox News has been involved. Recently an on-screen caption described Michelle Obama as “Obama’s Baby Mama”, a slang term for black single mothers. And in May Fox News contributor Liz Trotta apologised for joking that Obama should be assassinated, along with Osama bin Laden.

Am I reading too much into this or were they just looking for an excuse to fire this woman? After all, we have seen much worse than this on Fox and Bill O’Reilly still has a job.

The board of directors of Fox is composed of a bunch of prostitutes. They used ‘Fox News’ to cater to the right wing crowd with a bunch of made-up crap and commentary passed as news, while at the same time running the ‘regular’ Fox channels, which contain some of the most mindless, obscene dreck on TV. Their idea of high culture is “Hell’s Kitchen”

But then, we are seeing lots of the prostitutes that pass themselves off as right-wing pundits start to swing with the wind, Michael Savage a prime example of “I will suck the dick in power” radio personality.

That is one of the main characteristics of the ‘Right wing’… being a bunch of empty shells and hypocrites, whose principles only take them as far as their personal benefits are involved.

    … and not just America.

Fox has done a huge disservice to CONSERVATIVES.

    Fox has made you stupid.

    Really.

Fox viewers are more demonstrably more ignorant than the rest of us.

(Fox viewers are the dumbest. The best informed are the NPR/PBS crowd. Any surprise there?)

  3. Likes2LOL says:

#7 That “terrorist fist jab” moment is among some of the lowest class moments in American news.

What kind of “journalist” would even come up with the phrase “terrorist fist jab” in the first place? Ms. Hill deserved to lose her job.

After whatever contemplation she is capable of, Ms. Hil chose to offer the following non-apology for her shameless sensationalism: “I apologize because unfortunately, some thought I personally had characterized it inappropriately. I regret that. It was not my intention. And I certainly didn’t mean to associate the word ‘terrorist’ in any way with Senator Obama and his wife,” Hill added.

Family values? Not for my family…

  4. Gary, the dangerous infidel says:

Is E.D. Hill being given another break by Roger Ailes at Fox News rather than being fired so that she doesn’t have to go back to street prostitution to earn a living?

Of course, I’m not implying anything, but merely asking an innocent question. It’s easy to sink to that level, but afterwards you feel the need to shower.

  5. MikeN says:

Gregallen, you mean the southern strategy that saw Republicans lose all those states to George Wallace(who was the Democratic frontrunner for President in 1983)?

  6. MikeN says:

How many conservatives or Republicans do these other networks have? In addition to all its liberal analysts, Fox News has Alan Colmes, Geraldo, Morton Kondracke, and gave its 10PM show in order to Catherine Crier, Paula Zahn, and Greta Van Susteren,

  7. Jakester says:

    Traaxx,
You’re so busted and charged with violating Godwin’s Law because of your silly, dishonest and absolutely stupid NAZI reference. I am sure all the those Jewish liberal stalwarts in the Democratic Party have tailored SS uniforms hidden away in their second homes for the Der Schwartzen Fuhrer’s impending victory celebration.

  8. Jakester says:

There is nothing wrong with conservatism per say or having a right of center or moderate news venue. Trouble is, today’s right wing personalities are about as shallow as they are abusive and most of them have next to no substance or soul. It’s all hate, slogans, cliches and insults and when they catch some return fire, they go crying in their beer about how PC is censoring them. Look at O’Reilly: War on Xmas, Kos is a hate site, and some people pretend he is a journalist? Conservative
news is all about pandering to some semi literate neo-con redneck wannabee types who equate big cars and trucks with freedom. Instead, they should just try to cover things from a different angle and keep people who want to change things and muck thngs up honest!
